There's no inherent superiority or inferiority of PLS over IPS. Really just depends on the specific panel/monitor. Some will be better, some could be worse.

I have no idea why this is cold, I have 3 of these monitors and they are tremendous, PLS is way better than IPS and the colour gamut on them is brilliant, Great post OP, and they are on Ebuyer etc for 200 more than this !!!!

Ermm...no. That's not how it works.
IPS and PLS just refers to the process that is used to make the panel. You can get good and bad panels for both technologies (which are essentially the same)

I bought one of these from ebuyer for £240 that was supposedly an ex demo but the box had never been opened and the monitor still had all the stickers. These are great monitors, worth snapping up at this price. Good find OP.

That's an amazing deal! If I didn't already have my slim Korean bezel monitor I would have jumped on this. I paid around £300 for my Qnix QHD2730R only around 4 months ago! The bezels on this aren't quite as slim as the Dell U2715H or the Qnix QHD2730R but it comes damn closer. You also don't have to worry about the warranty as I had to import my Qnix and I only get a year's warranty compared to 3 years for this from Samsung direct.

I got my brother to buy the 32" version of this from CEX for 200.00 near him so I pick it up tomorrow. I was looking at youtube reviews when I saw the screen flickering issues the 32" models suffer from. eeek. Its the 32" panel issue i thing as BenQ has the same panel & issue.
I hope I don't have a bad one otherwise its going straight back to CEX.

I dont know what is their current pixel policy. But people which had broken pixels had a lot of them. But I think they should have fixed that by now. It is rare nowadays to have pixel issues.
I would pay by CC as it would be charged (probably) only when shipped. Now with paypal I have already paid and they will have to refund me (EUR to GBP, GBP to EUR with refund I will lose a few bucks in the conversion).

So there are like 17 orders left, and the guy on the phone said to give it another 4 or so working days. I have moved up (or down, however you look at it) in the que from 4th to 2nd so I'm not sure if they are only going to have a couple left (if any at all).
Grrrr! Annoying because this was the perfect 27" monitor at the perfect price. I have been looking for a 27" monitor at around £250 and haven't found anything that I like. Just in case, does anyone have any recommendations?

Actually FHD on my 15.4" is too small for me, need to adjust scalling. So chances are that 27" might be too small as well. However at 27" FHD I feel the pixel size is a big too big for my liking. Recently my brother bought HP 272Q for the amazing price of 350EUR (Au Optronics AH-IPS true 10-bit panel). However this Samsung beats it by having usb3 hub and more inputs, design wise is also better. So seeing the price I jumped on it right away. 25" and WQHD will be way too small for me. If Samsung fail to ship this I will stay with my 27" FHD as it is otherwise very nice.

So I called Samsung and apparently there is a known issue with the order tracking pages and that my order hasn't been cancelled. They are receiving three monitors in 3 days but can't guarantee if I will get one of them! The lady just didn't have a clue. Kept saying you will be emailed once the order is shipped, but doesn't have the foggiest on when that could be. Bloody Samsung!

Honestly Samsung are a joke!

Aaaand the monitor is featured in Samsung's easter deals even with -20% reduction to £319.20, but out of stock.
Not so lucky. It really is a beautiful screen, can't fault that, but it has dead pixels. Even worse, there's dirt behind the screen. If I tap on it then it moves about :neutral_face:
Not the kind of quality I was expecting. And the thought of waiting for a replacement... Ergh.

Samsung 'customer services' are trying to blame the courier for the dirt behind the glass and dead pixels. They want me to email them photos of the packaging and screen. Then they'll decide what to do.
But that could take 30 days.
Never buying from them again.

Mine went back today. Samsung tried to tell me that it was all the courier's fault, and that they'd need to make a claim from UK Mail. Which could take 30 days. 30 days being just long enough that I couldn't make a claim under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 :smirk:
I asked how the courier could possibly place dust inside the screen. I never did get an answer. But I did get offered a refund.
Sadly, they don't do replacements. It's either keep it or get a refund and buy a new one.

Its a very good looking monitor.No issues so far but only used it for few minutes on Kodi. Went to Maplin's and Pc World to get some cables/converters for my laptop, but was given mixed messages. I have a Thinkpad T430 which has VGA and USB, any advice what's the simplest option to connect it to my monitor and get full digital resolution.

I got my monitor yesterday and must say I'm really happy with it, there are a couple of annoyances though; the height wont go all the way down, leaves about 3 inch gap from the desk which may not be an issue to some, but my desk has a raised monitor platform therefore the top half of the screen is really high from where I am sitting. Also the base is extremely large. Hopefully I can tackle both those issues with my separate monitor stand. The whole unit is also very heavy! Other than that the monitor and screen looks great, well happy, even though I waited almost 2 months for it!

Grrrr! Annoying because this was the perfect 27" monitor at the perfect price. I have been looking for a 27" monitor at around £250 and haven't found anything that I like. Just in case, does anyone have any recommendations?
Shame on them showing in stock and the having no stock at all.

My 27" FHD Samsung PLS is still going strong, not really in a need for a new one.

Honestly Samsung are a joke!
I also have a feeling they will eventually arrive, but I will be bummed if the don't and I would have missed the current eBuyer deal.
But tracking doesn't appear to be working. Which doesn't surprise me.

These are black pixels, which don't respond.
But I have managed to move some of the dust to a less obvious place on the screen :stuck_out_tongue:

I asked how the courier could possibly place dust inside the screen. I never did get an answer. But I did get offered a refund.
Sadly, they don't do replacements. It's either keep it or get a refund and buy a new one.
