Just close your eyes and shove your nose into the microwavable container after heating the curry and you'll be immediately transported to your local Indian take-away!

Sainsbury's food is generally overrated, people seem to think it is so much better than Tesco, Morrisons etc. I think it is just because they try and come across as more upmarket, even the 'by Sainsbury's' labelling smacks of pretentiousness. Bet if you had to blind test their food against rivals you wouldn't rate them so highly. Sorry, went off on a tangent there. Going back to the curry, on one of my few visits to a Sainsbury's local on the way home from work, I've picked one of these up and they are nothing special. Anyway have some heat just for getting to the end of this post!

Sainsbury's Indian Meals really are great. They are as someone above says better than a lot of restaurants. ......Ah wait these are the mixed rice and main ones not so good. The ones in the bag deal for 4 used to be 10 quid and was lovely. Think it's 10 for 2 now and not as good.

Let's put it this way,you won't ever get that smell you get when you walk into an Indian takeaway. Awful attempt to emulate.

The Sainsburys Finest (or whatever their 'premium' brand is called) are absolutely fantastic...if just a quite high price.
I picked one up from Sainsburys a while back when it was reduced from £9.50(ish) to £4 due to go out of date, without any shadow of a doubt the nicest 'pre made' curry I've ever had in my life and frankly a lot better then some restaurant curries I've had.
While I could not usually justify the price try one, you'll be blown away by how nice it is.
