Price has dipped recently, think this is the cheapest it's been on Amazon.

Russell Hobbs...no thanks.
They don't value the safety of they're customers. They carried on selling faulty irons even after they knew that they were electrocuting people and didn't recall them until 18 months after they found out that people were getting serious injuries.
Some might say that this isn't an iron and they've used russell Hobbs for years, but it is the fact that they are willing to put they're customers at risk, over profit. It's the same company at the end of the day.

Great find. I've had one of these for the past year or so and it's one of my best buys. It heats up and boils in very quick time and is super-quiet. And, yes, for once the claim of 45 seconds for one cup is accurate, even after a year's use. Highly recommended.

That's good to hear. Just ordered one so hopefully have the same experience!

Hi, some of the Amazon reviews mention rust developing around the rim or spout after time and also it getting noisier. Have you found the same problems?

The camels told me about this earlier this evening - I asked Flubit and have now bought from them for £19.50.

I put it into flubit too and it ended up using a third-party seller's listing, which was £12.99 brand new including free delivery. Ended up nabbing the kettle for £11.33!

I haven't experienced any degradation of the metal anywhere. This is definitely a quality kettle that should cost a lot more. I'd go as far as to say it's a classic.

That's OK it's only either the missus or the kids (after a bit of bribery) that ever make the brews .

Damn, I bought this a couple of months back at £30!
Anyway, good purchase even at that price..
My only complaint with it so far is that the guide on the sides show a mug extra than it will actually make.

Good kettle. Although my water gauge started getting some condensation in it after a few uses.

So how does that make it good?

had this kettle but gave off very funny metallic taste that I've never had before. tried different remedies like bicarbonate etc but nothing shifted it and ended up returning. replaced it with the based kettle from same range which was fine.

I've had the same with a few new kettles (not Russell hobs), I took them both back because of it. I think certain brands must be using cheap and nasty parts or materials.

Well if mine produces a funny taste, I'll update the deal with my review and how I fixed it (assuming it can be).

I have this kettle and found the same thing, there are two possible solutions...
1) Remove the red water level indicator from inside the kettle (it just pops off)
2) Empty the kettle and refill prior to every boiling. i.e. never make a cuppa from water that has previously boiled and sat in the kettle.
Number two works for me, every time.
Heat. This is a great price.

I tried removing the red level indicator from inside but didn't help and #2 would just annoy me but great that you found a solution. As i say, replaced mine with the RH 20160 which had no issues at all
Great deal though

Great kettle. Well so far. Purchased a week a go for £28 from amazon. Looks good boiling with blue illumination and quick too.

Ok I got mine today. Tried it out. It does have a distinct smell inside and the water does have that plastic taste after boiling. Took the red meter out and no real change. Before I go hunting around for solutions, anybody had this problem and fixed it?
