£2.50 in my local so bought a spare, this is useful if you don't have a rear wiper.

Is that the spray bottle Rain X window cleaner that usually is at £4 or is it the non spray bottle?

I have Just picked up the 2 in 1 spray bottle (cleaner&repellant) from my local Asda reduced from £4 to £1 :-)

I really cannot fathom how this product is "useless". I've used it for over a decade & it has never failed to impress because at speeds over 30 the water beads together into larger droplets which then run up the screen minimising the use of wipers. At motorway speeds my wipers are never used because of the speed at which water is repelled up the screen. All I can say is perhaps some residue from whatever is being used to clean the windscreen is not being thoroughly removed by rinsing. The screen must be thoroughly clear of all cleaners & perfectly dry.

If properly applied, this is amazing in heavy rain when driving fast - you literally don't need your wipers, under most other conditions it is pretty good, though in light rain/spray when you just need an intermittent wipe occasionally it creates an annoying radar sweep effect when the wipers move.

I totally agree. After I've applied it there's been times I've not needed to use the wipers at all. And it looks beautiful too when all the droplets are just going off your windscreen (maybe I'm sad)

a brilliant product I bought it for 5 pounds and would recommend it wears off after about a week but when it was on didn't have to use my wipers and the kids thought it was great the way the rain bounced off the windscreen.

As has been said. if applied correctly this is a great product. Shame I can't find it at this price local to me :-(

I don't like the stuff. I found it made driving in the rain virtually impossible. I'd never buy it again.

Rain X repellant. How novel: a product that repels itself.

It is a good price.
I paid 4 quid for mine.
However, I have now read the instructions and applied 6 times.
The product does not work.
I bought this as I do lots of driving and wanted this peoduct due to wet weather.
At first it was smearing. This was due to the wax I was using in the wash.
I then used a proper glass cleaner to strip all of the wax off and applied. The windows are very clean but the product simply doesn't do what you want it to do.
I then used it on my front window. Same result.
Actually seems to hold water more in little droplets.
Keep your quid and give it to the homeless.

I gave my bottle to the homeless, he said it was the best drink he'd had in ages and he'd not needed to have a pee in weeks.

I've heard this is good on the outside of waterproof cases for GoPro, Action Cam etc to reduce effect of water sticking to it.

Fantastic reduction from the usual fiver. For those being critical read the instructions. Clean the windscreen THOROUGHLY. Wash it twice. Three times if necessary using normal cleaners. Apply rain x in dry conditions. Buff off the milky residue until clear. I barely use the wipers once applied because the rain simply beads & runs up the screen. Keep cleaning screen & re-applying regularly. Excellent product. Volcanic at this price.

Awesome price. Wonder if this is nationwide. Definitely worth buying or even stocking up on it.

This is the most well known product of its type, I voted this hot because of the price and it does work, however it's nowhere near the best of its type. GTechniq annihilates it but obviously costs a lot more. GTechniq G1 is more durable, G5 is more repellent. If you look on detailing forums, then there's a lot of discussion with regard to the various rain repellents and which is better.
This stuff is awesome if you do motorway driving etc.. can drive along without even needing wipers in full on downpours
Still great around town but most beneficial for me was on the motorway

Anyone know if this is worth it? I don't like to put cheap products on my car and I've never used any product on the windscreen like rain repellent.

Is it the factor 50? Because my car is very sensitive to rain.

I just bought this - it smudges all over the glass? Has anyone used this sucessfully - im assuming im applying it wrongly?

You need to apply it, wipe it even if it smears then buff it with a micro fibre cloth and the smears will disappear. Persevere with it, it's worth it - brilliant product.

I tried it because everyone raved about it, it never smeared as I buffed it off with a microfibre cloth but my windows now just get really dirty with even the slightest drizzle of rain.
Its such a poor product that almost attracts the rain !
I have gone back to normal glass cleaner now.

Good price but I fail to be convinced its still worth the effort. I've never had any visibilty issues just using Lidl winter screenwash and a set of quality Bosch wiper blades (like Aerotwin).

Different products - one is Anti-fog (used on inside of glass) and one is Repellent (outside of glass).
