nice.
but i really hate the gamecollection... i have no idea how a game seller manages to fail so hard at storage. they stack their games in a way that crushes the case. so the game case always comes flattened.
but i buy from them anyway because they are cheaper usually

I'm not going to bother with this one. Dark souls and Dark Souls 2 were just too damn hard. Yes, I'm a quitter!
Bloodborne was much easier.
Great games for people with great skill and extreme patience.
Hot for price.

I would recommend going back to either game if you managed to complete bloodborne.
Timing and dodging is everything and bloodborne should have trained you well enough to stream roll through atleast the first half of either souls game without much trouble.

Can I just ask which one you played first? I've never spoken to anyone whose found BB easier than Souls, I mean they are super different

I paid around £32 for the Deluxe Edition on Xbox One, courtesy of game sharing, but if you don't have anyone to share with then this is a great price for the regular edition.

I want to pre-order, but I got burned with DaS2, so I think I'll just wait for some gameplay footage (that isn't the network test) and reviews. Still need to buy Bloodborne DLC anyway. Hot though.

Conversely, everyone I've spoken to thinks Bloodborne is much easier. Including me.
There are tough spikes, especially in the DLC, but overall it's Baby Souls.

Bloodborne dlc has some of the hardest bosses out of all the souls, coming from a demons souls vet aswell.
JackBauerBoy
20 Feb 161#37
I love people who say Bloodborne was the easiest. I don't know what games they've played, but this sooo was not the case for me. Platinumed all 4 so feel i can weigh in on this debate.
No other game in the series had such a punishing start and some of the bosses on BB (for me Shadow of Yharnam and Martyr Logarius), were like 20+ tries. Never summoned. I've had mates around and watched them on DeS/DS/DS2 and believe me they can progress. With BB on the other hand, it's death after death after death trying to get to that bridge. The first boss on DeS for example, that black shielded thing - you can do that with your eyes closed - compared with the one of BB - though i did it second try, i had to work for it.
Having said that, i have to admit the Dark Lurker was absolutely solid - hands down the hardest of all the bosses for me on a melee build. And the ice/fire DLC in DS2 was difficult - that cursed tower with the invaders - controller throwing stuff.
I think people are massively discounting how much more skilful they've gotten as each one comes up.

I'm of the same opinion, BB was (& still is) very difficult for me compared to the Souls' games (I too have platted them all, some versions more than once [I imported the US version of Demon's souls before they released it in the EU] ).
I always find it interesting when people say "oh I found that boss easy" after someone has stated that they have struggled on a particular boss. I guess that is the joy of these games that we all find our particular playstyle and it works with some bosses and not others, which is probably why I struggled with BB as it is more reaction based and the variety of different playstyles is considerably less than in a previous Souls game.
With each iteration FromSoftware has had to try harder to ensure that veterans are suitably challenged whilst also trying to ensure that newcomers can also join in the fun.It must be difficult for them and one which I feel they didn't accomplish with Dark souls 2, and by that I mean the unfair spinning on a dime tactics employed by various enemies and various other tactics employed to ensure that it isn't "a walk in the park" for veterans of the series.

Does Dark Souls have a strong storyline?
Should I try to play the 1&2 first or can I just dive in with the 3rd?
I quoted you as your obviously experienced in these games

Dark souls 1 has a great story with some memorable characters, Dark souls 2 not so much.
I would recommend playing the first one or at least watch a summary video on youtube (there are loads).
However I'm sure quite a few people would say "wait, it had a story?"
I think the xbox one pre-orders come with Dark souls 1 through their backward compatibility programme although you shouldn't take my word on that (as it might just be digital pre-orders).
