Fully agree. I bought a pair of the blue ones (cheapest at the time, about a fiver) only intending to keep it as a throwaway pair but was really blown over by the quality of the sound. I have a pair of Xiaomi Pistons (2nd version) and the highly reviewed SoundMagic E10 and hands on heart, have to say these hold up pretty well to those. Bass is never overpowering or booming, treble decent enough to be sibilant but not shrilly, and the midrange is very, very good.
Physically, they appear to have the same quality one finds in a pair of Poundland buds (cheap plastics, short weedy cable etc) but my, once they're on your ears you realise where Panasonic has spent their money. They even fit better than the SoundMagics or Pistons due to the oval earbuds and weird 90-degree angle going into the ear. The 5 star reviews aren't fake. You won't regret buying a pair of these.

pointless buying a cheap pair of headphones unless prone to loosing them. spending £15 + will get you a lot better pair. If you can find pair of seinheiser cx300 II on offer. I paid £14.99 & there great

Philips isn't the quality brand it used to be, they tart the name to any Asian manufacturer willing to pay, so it's now mostly used on cheap junk like this.

I have the blue HJE120E, it has been £5 for years, do not know why that colour is £15 now.
Go for a different colour at a normal price, go for either 120 or 125 will do. They are similar.

It's the RP-HJE125E or RP-HJE120E, known as the 'Ergofits'.

I know. I only bought it 3 years ago to test it. But it really worth the £5 I paid.
My next one is Sony EX650 at £40.
The very popular E10 at £30 is very disappointing. Sony EX650 is much better than it in every way. If consider E10 at £30, go for Sony EX650 at £40, it is worth the £10 extra.
In my opinion, Even CX300 II at £10-£20 is better than E10. And E10 is fragile, not durable, breaks easily.

These are quite rubbish in terms of sound quality, I got the white ones when they were on offer.
Ive always hated inner ear heasphones, but should give them a new try. So the 5pound panasonics sound like a nice tester.

I found some in Harwich but can't get there till later in the week but think I'll give it a miss given some comments.
The cables just don't seem to be made very strong these days on any earphone and I end up with one duff side or ripping the cable out pretty quickly these days. Anyone know of anything durable like Sony used to be in the 90s?

I bought these, the white version, from Argos last year for £4.99 but had to return them as they were faulty - with the sound only coming out of one ear plug.

There a bit of a lump and you have to put cable over ears for best fit but worth it.
