USB 2.0 even with 128GB should be much lower in price imo by now. USB 3.0 is much better in every way.

I think it would be worth paying a few pounds more to get USB3.
great price. doesnt mention read/write* speeds. is it not worth buying a usb 3.0 though?

Depends how/where you will use it and if your current hardware has usb 3 support . But yes 3.0 is better where available

Mymemory would not exist if any extra charges must be paid by buyer - simple.

7dayshop moved to UK fulfillment about 2yrs ago due to the VAT issue "since our move to mainland UK distribution we are now pleased to confirm that all prices include VAT where applicable" https://www.7dayshop.com/about-us

I don't think it's anything to do with Rakuten to be honest. I've never known any purchases from their actual website incur any VAT & admin fees.

Maybe the VAT issue is non-existent in this instance as (I assume) Rakuten charge VAT at point of purchase? Presumably if the item was sold directly from MyMemory & shipped from Jersey then that would trigger VAT&admin fees payable by the buyer on receipt of goods?

Strange, HMRC states "You have to pay VAT on all goods sent by mail order from the Channel Islands no matter what their value" so that would also trigger the additional £8+ admin fee https://www.gov.uk/goods-sent-from-abroad/tax-and-duty

Having a look into that, it may have changed. But I honestly wouldn't worry, there has been masses of MyMemory posts on HUKD for items more expensive than this.

This was posted yesterday without direct mention of discount code, but that thread also noted that the supplier is based in Jersey which is outside EU for tax purposes. If the item is sent from Jersey the buyer would be liable for circa 12 GBP import&admin fees as item value exceeds 15 GBP import threshold. Does anyone know if this item is fulfilled from UK to avoid any import fees. Thanks.

I have bought loads of stuff from MyMemory and never once had any charges. And i am sure its the same for the rest of the members on here that have purchased from them.
Thanks.

It's £18 from Channel Islands to UK.

Have bought lots of memory stuff from Mymemory, 7dayshop, Base ...or Play, Gizzmoheaven previously - no issues even if Jersey was mentioned as a location
