3d 4k smart, 48" what's not to like at this price?
This was underrated last time it was on, but I think this is better than an ebay refurb for less than £30 extra.

What's not to like?
It is a Vestel, assuming you are aware of this and the fact it is not made by Panasonic then there's nothing 'wrong' with it. I dislike the 'false advertising'.

There is (something wrong IMO) when Panasonic try to pass them off as their own! (I have no issue with cheap TVs.)

Maybe you professional tv watchers want to spend many hundreds more. I stand by it being good value at that price.

And just how many things are now made by the company name they put on them? Not too many but it doesn't automatically make them bad. For crying out loud a Roller is no longer made by Rolls Royce,is it therefore a bad car?

Showing my age here (and my ignorance of TV's) but looking for 50 inch(ish) smart/4 thingy TV is becoming very complicated.....makes like Panasonic, Hitachi back in the days of yore used to be good quality, now, so many have sold their names to vestel etc. are they any different to store's own cheapies which cost a lot less money? And it definitely is false advertising...how do they get away with it? Heat added by the way, as from what I've read on HUKD not all Panasonics are vestel so hope you got a good one!

If never ceases to amaze me here how when someone posts a Cheap deal out come the snipers.
I bought one of these 8 months ago for about the same price for John Lewis with a 5 year guarantee.
Picture is awesome and I am very pleased
If it goes wrong in the next 5 years JL will get the call, frankly I am not too bothered about the badge envy, it gives an amazing picture and fulfills my TV needs.

I think you'll find most are trying to be helpful, I would prefer to know the Panasonic TV I was considering buying was a cheaply built TV with a Panasonic badge stuck on. I don't suffer from badge envy though I don't like being misled.
Gollywood to Kingsmeadow

I don't think it's 'badge envy' at all. If its a UMC or Vestel then I know what its worth. Its a supermarket TV & that's fine.
However, If its a Vestel badged Panasonic then I don't want to pay £100/£150 than its worth ! Because ultimately its a Vestel not a Panasonic (even if its cheaper than a 'real' Panasonic)

As long as you have a good warranty then cool, hot deal but don't want to buy a cheap brand TV which breaks after 15 months.
You buy cheap, you buy twice!

Hi broken two TV in 1-2 years. Luckily both under warranty and got full amount back. Otherwise would have lost £600 on each. I always recommend people to get atleast three year. Choose someone like JL and price match.

Every one of these threads turns into the same boring, "it's not a Panasonic blah blah vestel" nonsense.
Anyone buying this TV for the price and spec shouldn't be expecting a top notch £1700 Panasonic. However it is a Panasonic TV regardless, unless of course the same argument means iphones are not real Apple products because they don't manufacture them.
damadgeruk to applepieman
23 Feb 16#20
Nonsense, this TV is manufactured by Vestel to vestel standards. Lots of companies outsource the manufacture of products to standards set by themselves, completely different.

24 Feb 16#22
What are you talking about this TV is manufactured to spec defined by Panasonic just the same as all companies, such as apple, who outsource it. The spec just happens to be in line with the budget spec they require for this line of TVs.

25 Feb 16#26
It's a TV,
If it says Panasonic, Vestel, Mercedes or Badge Envy on it it is still a TV that shows moving pictures .
Its a 4k Smart TV for £428 with in my case a 5 year guarantee, so if it goes bang I get another.
In my opinion is a good deal and this is why I look at this site as it is a hot deal.
People need to chill out a bit, look at the deals here and make an opinion themselves rather than lurk about just picking holes in peoples efforts to highlight things they find that might be good deals

But most people will see 'Panasonic.. 4k'...lowish price & buy from Currys with standard 1 year warranty.
And they'll be well & truly screwed

I expect vestels are well screwed together, With most electronic gadgets they either exhibit faults in the first few months or go on fault free for years and years which is why tips are full of functioning but outmoded machines.
