Bought same one a few weeks ago. When in any eco mode it let's off a high pitched whine. Gutted as picture was beautiful sent it back.

Looks good. It's got all the bells and whistles I'd want apart from freesat.

Anyone know if this is a Vestel or genuine Panny panel?

The model number suggests Vestel.

TBH I'd spend the extras £20 and get the Hisense from Richer Sounds with a 6 year warranty. It's not 3d, but it'll be a better telly.

The staff in our Richer branch were practically disowning the Hisense, urging people to buy anything but that. Awful motion blur, embarrassed to be selling it.

TBH don't know why people buy cheap 4K HDTVs, unless I'm missing the bazillion people all watching tonnes of class 4K content. Most of it is pretty pish, good 1080p is likely as good considering the scalers and panels of these cheap HDTVs aren't up to much.
Rather have a good 1080p panel and 1080p content than a cheap 4k 3D whatever hertz TV.
E.G....Samsung UE48J6300. Which is class.

Is there an equivalent version of that Samsung that isn't curved? I'm not sure I want a curved set.

Similar model from the Panasonic eBay store was £300 recently and is very good. Picture is good upscaling very effective and 4k Netflix works superbly. However this is £100 more and I think without 4k Netflix. The extra £100 without 4k Netflix would tempt me to spend another £100 on something else I think.

If you sit about 4 feet or closer from the screen you will see the quality of 4k. Any farther away and you may as well just spend your £399.00 on a decent 1080 tv. Only 2 hdmi and do I smell turkey anybody. To the person who posted something about Panny panel. I think they stopped making their own panels quite a while ago now unless someone wants to put me right. If it's Argos ebay what does that tell you.

I have the 40" version of this, its very good for playback of video files but broadcast tv image quality can be very poor. It does 4k netflix and they recently fixed the cast to device system that lets you play mkv from your pc to tv but have the tv do the decoding...much smoother playback than having the pc do it.
The reviews on richersounds seem to suggest reliability issues and as ayaz51 has said it supposedly has a high pitched whine which suggests the internals are working overtime putting out 4k and adding any additional workload like 3d or different picture modes could be pushing it over the edge. Combining this research with the reports here of people saying its not proper panasonic(made by vestel) and its a refurb with high stock makes me think its not the deal the stats make it out to be. I'm not suggesting that just because the brand it has to be bad but you'd be a fool to overlook all the other signs pointing to bad workmanship

Panasonic will learn the hard way as Toshiba did five years go that no good comes from sticking a premium badge on a Vestel. They have a higher above average failure rate due to the underrated and mismatched components they use on boards and glitchy firmware/software they install.

I believe this is a 50 Hz unit?
If so, I assume the 60 FPS PlayStation 4 games that I play will only display at 50 FPS?
