The LG G4 is a superior device, in specs quality and performance.
The forum is littered with people returning phone, complaining about lag, the device heating up and a soso Fingerprint scanner.
Even with £30 off, you still have the better device and a lot less hassle

Yeah it's not bad but I love the fingerprint scanner on iphone 6 plus and the long battery of the one plus so I kinda wanted something that combines the two on Android.

I agree - looking at the spec, it's OK, nice 4GB RAM but there's uncertainty over their homebrew OS in my opinion and the Xiaomi range is, in my opinion, just as good if not better and a lot cheaper. It's just not the flagship killer they think it is and non-removable battery & no MicroSD card is still a deal breaker for many Android users.
So I suspect they had to drop the price to shift more units as they've upped their volume of manufacturing. £199 would be the right price point IMO.

The invite system was viral marketing allowing them to grow the company, which has clearly worked allowing them to increase production and lower the price. The price is also lowered as the parts are old with the new snapdragon 820 coming out so its cheaper to make.

I think you'll find that the phone is great. Compare it to everything in its price range and you'll see that this is the clear winner. It just went under the radar because it's missing NFC and quick charge. It's built like a tank and still has some great features like fp scanner(often missing in its close competitors) and usb type-C(missing from the s7). Yes the invite system is annoying but it's gone and rumoured to be gone forever(op3), and the invite system is gone....look at the deals title.

Don't think so. The H7 at this price has only 16GB internal storage and the second SIM slot allows SIM OR micro-sd, but not simultaneously, so you lose some functionality.
For the price though, if you don't want dual-sim, there are probably better alternatives (LG G4 for example).

Install a different ROM, like Resurrection Remix, for example. The stock CyanogenOS ROM that comes on the OnePlus One is dreadfully buggy, and OxygenOS for One Plus X / 2 isn't much better. But you have a phone that doesn't void the warranty when you unlock the bootloader, so you have the choice.

Any phone but this phone!
The customer service and technical back-up are a joke. Customer service only works on east coast States time and even then best of luck making contact. If you ever get through you get a ticket that means technical support in up to 7 days. Technical support means remote access to your computer (sorry Apple your products are not compatible). If they do contact you expect to be hanging around for over an hour and guess what it rarely works. Then you have to wait in another queue to request a replacement. Pretty straightforward this time except when you look to input your location as the UK is not recognised!
You may gather I think OnePlus is all fancy pants and no knickers. Even if it was a £1 you would be better of getting a Nokia brick.

I'd have the Moto X force all day every day if it was my money. Near-unbreakable phone (though get a screen protector to protect against scratches apparently), fantastic battery life, SD slot, and near stock Android. Already on Marshmallow I think, if not then a matter of days. You can be confident of expecting to see N and possibly even O. Motorola really found their mojo since Google bought (and sold them) and Lenovo haven't wrecked them yet, I'm not confident once they move to "Moto by Lenovo", honestly.Check out the reviews - plenty of 5/5 ones out there at original RRP, let alone at £300!!! (I'm v.happy with my Moto X Play as I have a case, and don't tend to drop my phone much - never broken/cracked a screen yet, touch wood)

I had a Oneplus One, sold it 2 weeks later. And got a Z2 for just a few quid more (loved the Z2).
The Oneplus One just did not deliver for me. Battery life was very average, and I found some Apps had either niggling issues (iPlayer shows were taking 45 mins to download a 30 minute show, would normally take a max two) OR they did not work at all (Amazon Music).
Don't know if such issues are still present on the Two, but I prety much decided then never to bother with Oneplus again. I guess I could have tried returning it, but seemed a faff, so just sold it in Cex.

Yes, all as advertised and battery drain test (also on the web) shows 5950mAh so pretty much what they claimed. Allegedly MM coming in March. Shan't hold my breath though.

so much misinformation from people who are slating the phone for no real reason.
1) yes it had an invite system. it worked absolutely fine and allowed them to produce/sell the phones at a better level for a small startup company. remember these guys are producing a phone with high level specs but at half the price of the likes of Samsung!
2) comparing against LG G4 - the specs on g4 are lower than the OPT. performance, in most tests i've seen, rate the OPT as better performing and much better battery life. I've used the G4 for a few weeks and to be honest i noticed no difference in performance. The G4 has a higher res screen, so the screen will be using more juice and be pulling the battery life down for "screen on time" compared to a 1080p phone (generally speaking)
3) NFC missing - yeah. it is. can't say i'm missing it, by the time Google Pay comes to the UK i'll most likely be upgrading to a new phone by then anyway. maybe the oneplus 3.
speaking of which
4) OnePlus 3 will be "dropping soon" really? "soon" the one plus 2 was released in August last year. do you really see a small manufacturer producing new versions of devices on a cadence of more than once a year?!

I'll ask again, convince me - Why should I use e.g. "Google Wallet" to pay for stuff? Cards have an advantage over cheques as you wouldn't have to faff about filling them out, more secure etc. What advantage does paying with your phone have over using a card?
Answer: None. :stuck_out_tongue:
thefunkygibbon

The fact that you're provided an "answer" to your question, implies that you have absolutely no interest in listening to any reasoned explanation to what you were "asking". So why should i put effort into explaining this to you. I'm sure a quick google would answer this very easily.

I use Apple Pay and for that reason sadly feel locked in to the iPhone now. As it's super secure and easy - pull out your phone, wave to the nfc reader in the shop/pub - scan your finger to pay. You can add multiple cards to it. Much quicker than paying with the card. And more secure than contactless as requires authentication.

I've had mine two weeks - it's OK but no 'flagship killer' (I can't believe they still use that term). The camera, speed and battery all seem not quite as great as the breathless write-ups but of course this is just an unqualified opinion without hard technical facts. It also has a few quirks like rebooting itself occasionally or freezing or changing icons to the green android head. I'm going to keep it but in hindsight I wish I had stumped up the extra and bought a flagship - namely an imported Galaxy Note 5 or Sony Xperia Z5.

Cold. Non-existent support, horrible unresponsive screen. Those are 2 reasons enough to avoid.
Plus the cheaper OnePlus X is a far superior phone in every area other than camera. But if you're buying a cheap phone, camera wont be a priority anyway...
So if you're willing to deal with OnePlus support should something go wrong, save yourself 50 quid and get the better phone. The AMOLED panel on them is gorgeous compared to the crappy LCD panel used in the OP2. Plus the screen is nice and responsive too, no horrendous delay when drawing your finger over the screen like the OP2.
I get about 5-6h SoT on mine over 2 full days, includes lots of spotify etc too in the background.
If you really want the extra 0.5 inches, then you shouldn't even be looking at this. The Honor 5X is cheaper yet, and comes with a far better screen. Less power and so-so camera, but it uses a snapdragon chip, so you can run stock android, cm12/13, etc if you so please. Probably better build quality too due to the lack of flimsy plastic panels on the back.

I bought this on invite a few months ago. For the price it a damn good, fairly high spec phone.
No NFC bit of a downside.

I'd say not a bad price for a supposed 'flagship'. But surely the Nexus 5X is better option at similar price point with stock Android instead of Oxygen OS?

I've had both the OnePlus and OnePlus 2 and to be honest think the OnePlus 2 isn't all that great - the initial OnePlus phone was brilliant however, but the latter iteration in my view was somewhat rushed.

OnePlus One is still a great phone. The Two isn't too (heh) bad, but it's not the 'flagship killer' it set out to be. It's not a bad price but lacking in certain areas (especially that 810 v1.0 chip that tends to overheat and the dangerously out of spec type C cable it comes with).

So many negative comments from people who don't own the phone. I own one and i have no complaints. It's snappy, has plenty of storage, a battery that lasts 2 days+, list goes on. Mine isn't buggy at all.. The oxygen OS is very clean and minimal. At 249 is very good value. Fortunately I've never had to deal with the customer service.

I'm not a big fan of the Oxygen OS on this. Seems a bit flaky. An official Cyanogen ROM is still in the works and I think this will make a massive difference. The hardware is pretty sound but the OS is not that great. If we're being particularly picky, the only real issue i have with the hardware is the screen colours. They just don't look right. I don't see anywhere it can be changed.

I've had one since September and love it. I think people that think spending double the amount on a smart phone gets them better customer service are living in a fantasy Samsung and Apple do not post huge profits by offering great customer services! they suck in idiots and tell them a fault with there phone is actually a feature!!

I've had customer service from both Apple and OnePlus. They are not even in the same league. In the end I had to file a paypal dispute to get my money with back with OnePlus, whereas with Apple when there was a fault they basically just replaced the whole handset in store.
I'm not knocking the quality of the phone, but if you get a lemon; watch out.
Disclaimer: I currently have a Nexus 6.

I don't disagree about apples profits, but their cs is decent, but Oneplus cs is beyond belief. They disregard all selling regs in the UK, create bogus 'pick up fees' not mentioned in any t&c's, while sending broken phones back as yours that belong to other people. If you want a headache and some grey hairs, buy a oneplus. Better still buy a UK based, not just UK supplied device, so you do have some recourse if you go outside of your paypal timescales. Just my experience ...

It's an absolute beast of a phone, just spent the last two days setting it up and it's not missed a beat. Only just out this last month or so, so not many reviews yet, I'd imagine people just lumping it in with the 'generic chinaphone' for now but when it gets recognised, I think it could do for Ulefone what the early phones did for HTC, it's that good.

I would be if you use a lot of Bluetooth devices.
I don't know if it was Lollipop or Samsung, but Bluetooth on that (running Lollipop 5.02 I think) is STILL broken. Been broken since Lollipop launched. Using a 6p with Marshmallow now and it's night and day. Bluetooth actually works again. I can actually use my Pebble reliably again now. And use more than one set of BT headphones without having to forget and unpair one (and usually reboot the phone) before the other will connect.
There is a lot to be said for phone running pure Android. The (big, mainstream) manufacturers have got worse over the years in terms with keeping up with the current version.
That Ulephone does look nice though, especially at that price. Although I'm not sure how it can be Lollipop and Marshmallow at the same time? (It says both further down the fancy blurb on the page for it but implies it ships with Lollipop in the spec sheet?)

I Honestly dont use apple pay in shops, its less convenient than my contactless visa card. Paying with card: get card out of wallet, hold up to pay thingy. Paying with apple pay: take phone out, hold up to screen, double click home button and wait for finger print to register. It takes longer so i dont use it. Contactless cards are where its at. Apple pay is great for paying for stuff on my phone, I can order on just eat with just my fingerprint which is very handy.

Gave up on anything Android as the abandonment rate for older devices, and general incompatibility of apps, is terrible. At least you have the assurance of periodic updates with Apple and more importantly everything works as it should do.

Having owned one for a couple of months now, it's certainly decent build quality, but it has some awful moments of lag (I have the 64GB/4GB RAM model) that I haven't experienced before on even lower end Android phones.
It just seems to pause all the time when opening/closing an app or unlocking but then the side to side swiping works perfectly on the home screen but the drop down menu at the top of the screen will sort of stop for a couple of seconds? This is with nothing running background wise, and I have a limited amount of applications I use/install, it just seems to do it when it feels like it.
On a positive note, the screen is decent, battery life is a day for me with Bluetooth on and a couple of hours music and browsing each day.
Sound quality on headphones is pretty decent. Camera is also really good, got some of the best shots I have taken at night on this phone without flash.
The USB-C is annoying because its the only device I have with it so had to buy a few extra cables and bar the anyway up connection it doesn't add anything as it's USB-C form factor but carries no fast charging or similar technologies.
At least they have fixed a couple of issues with the latest updates, but it has certainly had more quirks, lock ups, reboots and turning on/off aeroplane mode (to restore phone connection) than any phone I have had previously.

But I know what my usage patterns are. (I always buy outright SIM free)
My Note 3 lasted about that long. And I'd still be using it if it ever got a decent official Marshmallow update. But it never will and I can't be bothered dicking around with custom ROMs etc etc. Which is stupid. There is nothing wrong with the phone. It's still plenty powerful enough for what 99% of people use it for. But if they kept updating, we'd never buy new phones now would we ....
Nexus devices tend to get longer support than phone from Samsung/LG/HTC etc etc. And you get new stuff much faster and without the third party manufacturers making a mess of it.
(In fairness, it wouldn't be so bad if Lollipop - Samsung take on it anyway - wasn't so poor.)

I have had a great experience with oneplus, had the one for a year, sold for £175, then got a two in December, had no problems with either, both performed flawlessly, as for NFC payments it'll never take off in phones until the need to unlock, then open app is removed, far easier to use a contactless card

I don't know vs the G4 having never owned one. But the Oneplus two is very well put together in my opinion. It's very solid feeling with the metal chassis, no creaks, no odd alignment problems when parts come together. I came from a Z3 Compact and that was like a toy in comparison.

Edit, this may have ended today, can't get it to work on my basket, accepts code but doesn't take price of Kevlar back off.
The forum is littered with people returning phone, complaining about lag, the device heating up and a soso Fingerprint scanner.
Even with £30 off, you still have the better device and a lot less hassle
So I suspect they had to drop the price to shift more units as they've upped their volume of manufacturing. £199 would be the right price point IMO.

For the price though, if you don't want dual-sim, there are probably better alternatives (LG G4 for example).
you will have to join a que for a invite
but just know everyone else who has bought a one-plus phone before will be que jumped in front of you
plus people who send out invites to join the que will also que jump in front of you
and if your lucky you will get a invite in 4-6 months , just in time to find out a one plus 4 is coming out
The customer service and technical back-up are a joke.
Had to open a paypal dispute and got all of the money back.
My phone is great but the customer services does not seem to have matured.
How is that progress? Think I'll stick to cash/cards.
How do the OnePlusTwos compare to the Moto X Force?
Good price though.
My Ulefone Be Touch 2 was sold with Android 5.1. It was delivered with Android 5.0 masquerading as 5.1 and even after two firmware updates (none for 4 months now) and 8 months having passed there is no sign of any GENUINE 5.1 on the phone, let alone any of the other OSs they advertised were going to be available!
Certainly can't imagine (m)any Be Touch 2 purchasers regarding Ulefone as a repeat supplier!
Personally I really like MIUI 7 which is on Xiaomi phones, especially the ability to give root access to chosen apps and not others. So Sky Go, iPlayer etc all still work but I can use other apps that require root.
Watch this video and see his the soc and ram packages stack up

Answer: None. :stuck_out_tongue:
Seriously though, I'd sooner my phone stays in pocket when I'm not phoning/texting/messing with it. A card is disposable, a phone not so much.
I would never buy a phone above 1080p now lesson learned.
Do the mobile pay services have the same limit as contactless cards, £30 per transaction or due to more authentication can you spend as much as your account will allow?
Marshmallow is considered a significant improvement over lollipop, both in performance, features and security.
Technically ApplePay/Google wallet are far more secure as each transaction generates a random credit card number, so the retailer never sees your credit card number.
Specs wise, my geekbench results are at the top of the league table. The single core score is the same as the Galaxy S6, and the multi core score ranks above EVERY OTHER PHONE. Very funny that people are suggesting other phones have better hardware
For budget phones I much prefer my wife's Honor 7.
Got a little excited when I read the deal title..
"OnePlus 2 Permanently Dropped"
YES.. at last, the SD830 based one is coming!
You don't have to wait for Android Pay I use the Barclaycard app & greggs app.
I won't be getting a OPT
Totally agree with MojoMan
I have a OnePlus One that has developed a data fault (definitely software issue) 185 days after purchase. Customer services is a joke and tell me to book an online appointment for which there are no slots. It's still in warranty but that's irrelevant as they are never going to fix my issue and refuse to replace the phone.
It's a complete farce, never known customer services like it - AVOID this company.
No NFC bit of a downside.
If you want to spend £600+ that's your choice.
I'm not knocking the quality of the phone, but if you get a lemon; watch out.
