You missed out bud. Nexus 6P is a vastly superior device. Have had both the 6P and edge, and the 6P blows the edge out of the water (and that's despite me being somewhat of a Samsung fanboy here!)

So what makes this device worth buying and using instead of the charging wire I got free with my phone?

To save your charging port. Not having to guess which way round it plugs in in the dark.

I got the S6 as a replacement after my HTC M8's charging port wore out to the point where you had to wrap the cable around the phone in a certain way to get it to charge (the port was at fault, not cable) and I used the Qi charger since day 1. One year on and the ports look flawless, has helped increase resale value :smiley:

I understand what you're saying...however: I have a cheaper Anker version (£9.99) on my desk at work. Because I'm constantly having to get up and leave my desk throughout the day it's much better being able to just pick my phone up and plop it back down when I return.

If you have a Galaxy S6 you'll know that the battery life is terrible so it's good knowing that my phone is getting topped up whenever I'm at my desk. No more 20% battery when I get home :smiley:

I have a Nexus 7 that has a broken charge socket. Wireless charger works fine in this instance.

Not according to this guy who uses it with s6 edge.


**Fast Charging - This does not work with this unit, however this is something that cannot be used with QI charging as far as I know so it’s not an issue with the unit, it’s more to let you know in advance that none of the wireless chargers can offer this function so don’t expect something you cannot CURRENTLY get! For this reason I use my fast charger at work and then use this when I go to sleep, it’s so nice to wake up to a full battery!

Got to highlight this - this does NOT fast charge your phone. It uses the fast charge wire, but it charges at a normal speed.

I got this pad with the phone on special offer when it was released. It's good, but it is definitely only a standard charge.

I own a Galaxy S6 and use mine in work, plop it on the pad while I'm working and it will get to 100% in no time.

So much misinformation about this and USB C cables. You have to do a lot of digging to find out the specs and speeds. There is a 5W output difference between regular wireless charging and fast wireless charging. The only phones that have fast wireless charging are the Note 5 and Galaxy S6 models and the S7 which has not been released yet. The difference is not astronomical but adds to the convenience factor. If you are expecting to get the same charge speeds as your wall adapter the technology has not evolved there yet. Perhaps one day.

These specs are straight from the User Manual.

Normal wireless Charging:
5V x 2A = 10 W

Fast Wireless Charging:
9V x 1.67A = 15 W

Guys do not buy this, been happily using two of these bought direct from Amazon they are genuine, all of a sudden my s8/7/6 all randomly get a charging paused error resulting in no Charge, damn Irrating when you leave it and return to 0 progress.

Using my genuine fast charger plug and cable.

Turns out after a quick Google this is very common and and issue back in S6 days.

Will be returning both my units, sad love the freedom but having a unreliable charge is not worth it.
