Just had an email from ODEON saying if you register your interest before 2nd March and then sign up before 11th March you will get a £15 odeon gift card.
Not sure how much Limitless will be each month, but looks like it will rival Cineworld's Unlimited

Thanks for posting. I've signed up for the pre-register, we'll see what the offer is like. Anything around the £18 mark and I may sign up. ODEON is my local and charges £9.45 for standard 2D tickets (I just checked a 2pm start film).

I currently pay 17.50 a month as part of the beta which is still ongoing. That is for any seat at any time so of course depends on how often you go to the cinema and when (meerkat) to justify the fee. Also it wasn't available to book tickets online which was a pain.

I've signed up for more information. Pricing will be key here and also if it can be used with Meerkat Movies like the Cineworld card can. My local ODEON charges £5 a ticket all day, every day. With Meerkat Movies, it's an absolute bargain to see a film, but the screen picture quality isn't as good as the nearest Vue or Showcase so I'd be put off being stuck with the poor quality screens.... we'll see!

My local is £12 a ticket so I would only need to go twice a month for this to be worth it. I would probably go 2-3 times a week. They might do a higher price for every screen within the M25.
darkwarrior
28 Feb 16#23
If you go a lot, 18 a month isn't too bad, the average price at mine is £8+. Problem is there's rarely more than one film a month at the minute worth watching, so I'd never break even.

A shame they have made it more expensive than Cineworld's Unlimited Card - if it was cheaper, they could have convinced a lot people to change over. I actually live closer to an Odeon but rarely use it due to having a Cineworld card.

Exactly! What has Odeon been playing at for the past few years?
There's an Odeon less than 2 miles from me, and Cineworld is over 20 miles. Yet I'm a Cineworld Unlimited card holder, and probably will continue to be if Odeon's price is anything like £18 a month.
Cineworld Unlimited is cheaper at £16.90 a month and comes with 25% off various restaurants.
Cineworld can also be had from Tesco Clubcard rewards for just £96 a year which is extremely good if you have the points.
I'd love to switch to Odeon instead of travelling 20 miles to watch a film, but if they're going to convince people to switch, they're going to have to seriously step up their game.

28 Feb 162#31
This is a shame, I got rid of my Cineworld card and started using Odeon cinemas instead as the fact that people actually PAY for their tickets means they actually want to see the films they go to. The unlimited cards mean people just rock up to anything and then sit talking, using phones, kicking you in the neck and stuff. Think I'll just save up an buy a projector

I take it you ask every one who talks if they are a Cineworld Unlimited card holder to know this information?
As a cardholder for four and a bit years it's been a massive cost saver and great for me. Some screenings have a boisterous crowd, some are silent or empty but it's got **** all to do with Unlimited cards. Go and see the new Marvel movie week 1 and there'll be phones and whispered conversations in any cinema regardless of monthly cards.

I was at the newly opened Odeon Orpington yesterday and saw the poster. It is £17.99 locally and £19.99 for Central London. And similar to Cineworld you need to sign up for a 12 month contract. I would have considered it, if the 12 month clause wasn't there.

Amazing amount of hate in this thread
This is a good deal if your only option is Odeon - in my experience Odeon are expensive to go to at £8-£12 a ticket for standard seating depending on the film, so if you see 2-3 films a month this will be good value.
Cineworld is equivalent - their normal ticket prices are cheaper at £5-£8 for standard seats depending on time of day, so at £17 a month their pass is also worth it if you see 2-3 films a month.
Personally I am happier with the Cineworld offer - the food/drink discounts are good, and once I hit 12 months Imax/3D will be included with no uplift too.
Remains to be seen if Odeon will do something similar but I would be surprised if they don't.
I have made good use of my unlimited card and see 3-4 films a month on average - its enough to see pretty much all the releases and you do get some surprises out of it. Films that I would never have paid £8 to go and see based off the trailers (e.g. heart of the sea), but that I actually really enjoyed.

How many tickets can I book at once?
You can book tickets to see as many screenings as you like on the day you are booking. You can also book up to two tickets for screenings. Your bookings can’t overlap (after all, you can’t be in two places at once!).
Looking at the T & Cs
"Member can book tickets for as many screenings as they wish on the day they are booking. Members can also book up to 2 tickets for screenings on subsequent days. Bookings cannot overlap.."
so can you book two tickets for the same screening?

2 Mar 161#71
After having seen the details this is ridiculously overpriced compared to the Cineworld equivalent, at least for me. It's not the sub cost that's the problem but the exclusions. The 'event' stuff being excluded is a shame as Cineworld just treat them as an extra surcharge over a 2D ticket but the killer is Odeon's "Premium" seating. Almost all Cineworld screens have done away with this and (again, in my experience) now offer decent seating and leg room as standard. The standard Odeon seating in comparison is frequently poor, presumably in an attempt to entice upgrades. Net result is for a comparable experience I'd always be paying the surcharge at Odeon which, if I'm seeing a couple of films in a row, means it's still cheaper to travel to a Cineworld than walk to my local Odeon. Doesn't help my local Odeon is relatively small so majority of screenings are in 3D and is also bleedin' expensive as it's within the M25.
The little things aren't great either. Obviously they're not going to give you Premiere points for free tickets but they could have done so on the extra charges over the free tickets. No linkup with other retailers means you don't get offers like the 25% off at Pizza Hut, Frankie and Bennie's and Chiquitos (surprisingly useful at the cinemas I go to). No discount on food and drink in the cinema, can't overlap bookings (REALLY useful when you're trying to squeeze in another film and don't care about the 20 minutes of ads), can only book two tickets in advance (considering how jammed some months are this year with interesting releases that could be a real pain)... really feels like this is something Odeon didn't want to do but had to thanks to the competition from other chains and home viewing.

Interesting that it has taken Odeon so long to come out with something comparable to Cineworld's Unlimited card, but so far it looks only a pale imitation.
I read somewhere a while ago that Cineworld could only offer the card because of a previous loophole that had since been closed, hence why no other chain could offer an equivalent. I think it stemmed back from the Virgin/UGC days before it became Cineworld. So presumably this new Odeon offering means all chains can now offer something similar.

Would be interesting to know this too. In Swansea the other week, the guy at the till mentioned something about a monthly pass and we can use the meerkat code for 9 quid. At the time limitless wasn't launched, so was a bit confusing what he was on about, asked Odeon on Twitter and they said it's 2 completely different things, so it's strange where he got his info from, unless he just assumed it could be combined.
I always go with my wife or dad and always use meerkat, so would need to go 4 times a month to just break even if it wasn't possible, plus we have a Vue too, so probably not the right offer for me personally, sounds like its tidy for people not using meerkat though.
