Limited stocks, but found some in London (Marble Arch). I Check Stock appears down at the mo, so cannot confirm how many. Believe old style, so reduced. Also same price with 3 month Sky Entertainment pass (http://www.argos.co.uk/static/Product/partNumber/2800150.htm), but cannot find any availability close to me.

ShopTo selling the new box and 2 months movies or 3 months entertainment for £11.86, would personally pick that over the old box here.

Its also worth pointing out (as you are keen on using one for a second TV with no aerial) that in addition to Sky Movies / sports / entertainment packs, you also get BBC iPlayer, ITV player, 4 On Demand and Demand 5 totally free, as well as YouTube and various other apps, so it really is a great bit of kit for the price, regardless of the Sky paid stuff

you'd probably be better looking for a deal on the newer model if you're likely to use iPlayer as it runs very badly, can take 30+ seconds to respond to commands at times (rebooting usually gets it running again for a while). shame that they forced that version of iPlayer as the old one was fine. other services run fine though.
also on this box you can install plex and stream video from a PC (with plex server). all very easy to set up and main reason I got one.

Do you have to pay a monthly subscription or can you just watch the on demand and iplayer apps without subscribing?

No you don't have to pay a monthly subscription, so - yes - you can buy the box and watch just the catch-up services once the 2 months movies pass has expired.

don't look at it as an old box with 2 months movies, look at it as 2 months of NowTV movies with a free paperweight thrown in. £5.50/mth for movies isn't too shabby, and you may be able to sell the box to CeX or something to get the price down further.

No access smart tv to sky go.

Do smart TVs have access to Sky Go? I have sky go but it is awful, won't let you link anything to the TV e.g. via chromecast, and is generally a poor cousin of the most excellent BT Sport streaming service (I have both)
If it works on Smart TVs, maybe it doesn't suck as much as it seems to on tablets and my laptop

Thanks for the info. Presumably a smart TV with wireless will take it to the next level again with access to Sky-go, and any other live streaming channels?

I would also recommend the new black box over the old white one. The white one was pretty slow. When we upgraded to a Roku box, it was far faster. I understand that the new black box is based on one of the newer Rokus, so it should be reasonably fast.

There is one reason to stick with the old white box - it has an analogue audio/video out, but the newer black box doesn't. I can't see many people using the composite video out still nowadays, but I do use the jack for headphones on my desk at home so although I have spare black boxes I still use one of my old white ones.
The white box is VERY slow in comparison and the wired ethernet is another useful addition to the newer box, so if you're buying new definitely get the black one unless headphones are a requirement.

this may be a stupid question, does this simply come with an online code for the 2 free months? and if so, if I download the Now TV app on my ps4 can I use the code via this??

Yes, the voucher code is for your Now TV account, rather than being restricted to a particular device. Once you have an account with a voucher applied, you can watch it on what device you have which supports Now TV. (You can register up to 4 devices, and watch on 2 at a time.)

Or try http://www.hotukdeals.com/deals/nowtv-black-currys-2-for-20-2380497 - possibility for 2 new boxes with 2 x 2 months Movies for £20. Same for Entertainment and Sports Day Passes. See comment #16 on that offer - you might have to persist so that they can find the deal.

I looked in Tesco Norwich Harford Bridge last night, and the boxes were £25 not the £19 in the other deal, it's probably not a national deal

...Yes this has nothing to do with your existing primary Sky account if you dont want it to, you just create a new separate account.

Thanks for confirming, sounds ideal for the bedroom where we don't have a coax/ariel point. Unfortunately this deal isn't available local to me but there seems to be plenty of other offers about. Presumably you can register one of these even if you are already a sky customer (and if not register under another name)?

Do these things stream over the internet or are they COAX attached to a TV ariel?. If internet do they broadcast wi-fi?

they don't broadcast, they receive stream from internet via WiFi.
