I ordered this yesterday and it arrived today. Seriously warm jacket at a bargain price. Hope this helps someone. A number of colours/sizes available. Think delivery is £5 but you can pick up from store if close by.
Cheers

Really good, warm jacket at a good price. Heat added. Had one once - far too warm for sunny Pembrokeshire!

Trust me, keep it - the new stuff is NOT like the old stuff including sizing. Still good quality but nothing like the quality 8 odd years ago, for the jackets anyway, NF are owned by VF Corporation. I had the old one and it got damaged (my fault), was replaced with the same one direct from NF under warranty and the material was completely different and didn't have that quality about it like the old one did. Having said that, I would still buy again.

£175 for a jacket? Beware the power of branding... Just get a slightly large one at Mountain Warehouse and wear a jumper underneath

£175 isn't exactly expensive for a quality winter coat that won't really need replacing for many many years.

I have the older version which I paid £230 for 4 years back. Would buy again if it was needed. Great jacket.

Not expensive  are you joking.
I just bung the old workman fluorescent jacket on if it's horizontal rain and I'm working outside always end up roasting.

Great jackets. I had a size large one for about 5 years. Way too big. Sold it on flea bay for £150 and bought a new one size medium from Snow and Rock just before xmas for £175. The quality isn't as good as the older one. You will sweat your plums off in this.
Good deal for this one.

Nonsense price, you're paying for nothing but the brand (for this particular jacket). Buy Rab, Mountain Equipment, or at least a proper North Face jacket with the proper tech. Goretex or Paramo at least at this price.

Really wanted the Gotham but nowhere was selling the tweed colour, only black so I've just bought the Mcmurdo 1st version. Im loving it. It's like wearing a duvet. North Face sizes are very odd. I'm 5'11 42 chest and 16 stone tried a large in both the Gotham and Mcmurdo, they were huge on me. The medium Gotham was a good fit but I ended up with a small Mcmurdo. Its a close fit in that size but the medium was just slightly too big and I still looked like the Michelin man on steroids. So I would advise to go for a smaller size than usual.

I was tempted by this jacket in the Jan Sale at "The North Face" outlet in Livingston, it was around £150 with discounts.
Stylish and EXTREMELY warm, but £150 for a jacket .... left it.

Sizing is well out, I'm an xl for most stuff and a medium in this.
As for the price comments, I was very weary at £215, but it's been the best £215 I've ever spent.

These coats are filled with down. Most down is obtained from China. The Chinese do a lot of "live plucking" for cost reasons. This is excruciatingly painful and causes these poor birds to live a life of misery that even Prometheus wouldn't want to swap for. Just one example below, plenty of videos online.
