Just got back from my local Tesco in Caister, where they were selling Nokia Lumia 630 Smartphones for £12.50!
They are locked to Tesco, but hey, for £12.50 you can't complain :)
The Shelf edge labels were the standard white ones, so not even on sale / clearance!! There were only 3 in there, 1 green, 1 black & 1 orange. Obviously i bought them all, so none left in Caister on sea.

Thank you OP for posting such a good deal. I can see you are still a beginner and just trying to help people out by letting them know about this deal. In return you get called all sorts of things. Please don't hesitate to post any future deals or clear the shelves of a good bargain (if you didn't somebody else would so it is better to be you!). Just buy one item only on the receipt for HUKD purposes. It is unfortunate that many people pretend to be not interested in buying bargains and yet they are on a bargain hunting forum!!!

So because i took the 3rd to sell on & pay for the other 2, that makes me a dick does it?? Why wouldn't i?? I now have a spare phone for work & my mum has a shiny new upgrade & they didn't cost me anything!
I'm not someone who 'clears shelves' of bargains or reduced food, but if i can get something for nothing, i will!!
I posted the deal to make others aware that there are cheap phones to be had at Tesco, & there still are.
There were 2 x Samsung Keystone 2 (vodafone) GT-E1200i phones in Caister store for £3 each as of 4pm today, when the store closed, so should be there in the morning should anyone want them. Admittedly, not the best phones, but £3!!!! :stuck_out_tongue:
James_C84
31 Jan 16 #72
as in a very loose term which is why i used ' ' but if you prefer you can use something like 'thinking of others', unlike that person who leaves a supermarket with an entire reduced food section. taking more than you need because you can - that's being a dick ( you seem to be struggling on what that is )

you say it's mildly amusing but you seem to really be taking it to heart :\ , all i'm saying is you've come across as boasting in this if you meant to or not by having 'obviously bought them all' , it's not obvious that you'd buy all of them - be it 3 or 300, you dont need them all so why do it?

if the cashier bought them, that's out of your hands, you tried but they were gone but, by buying them all you've taken that deal away from anyone else following you, who is to say an average Joe or Jane wouldn't have bought them instead?

i'm just utterly sick of greedy people buying things to sell on at a marked up price & pointing this out shouldn't discourage any sensible person from posting a deal for others

Just for you, from the urban dictionary

troll
One who posts a deliberately provocative message to a newsgroup or message board with the intention of causing maximum disruption and argument.
ie calling someone a dick because you don't agree with their actions!!

Bargain hunting rules!!! LOL
What a load of balls!!
If i'd bought just 1, theres a 99% chance that the cashier who commented "wow, they're really cheap" would've bought the other 2, so who from HUKD would've benfitted then?
Get a life, if you don't buy a bargain when you see it, someone else will!!
As for clearing a store, there were 3, not feckin 300. It's 'DICKS LIKE YOU' what put a lot of people off posting deals, because of the constant moaning & bitching. But to me i find it mildly amusing
westendtoo
31 Jan 16 #69
Jings, this thread has descended in tone somewhat.

Is it possible for someone to link to the "rules" of bargain hunting, as mentioned?

I am not aware of them and would like to avoid any unpleasantness should I inadvertently transgress.
amis1975
30 Jan 16 2 #62
At least i post deals m8!! if 1 other person finds these at this price, then my job is done.
1 deal in 3 years for a calculator that was cheaper elsewhere!
Then you moan on other peoples posts, great contributor to the community!
Also, why all your history not showing in your profile?? Got something to hide???
Feck off troll
James_C84 to amis1975
31 Jan 16 #68
 god you're a very angry man aren't you

no idea why it's not showing & i'm not moaning on a post, i'm calling you out directly for being a dick and breaking one of the most important bargain hunting 'rules' by clearing out a store, i could post duplicate deals here but i don't i look and if i see it's already here i dont post it

i'm also not a troll, you probably need to look up what that is 'm8' what you did was being a dick regardless of if there's only 6 people who live in your village, if being told that that makes you uncomfortable then maybe dont do things which are dickish?

and that deal may have been a pound cheaper in Tesco the previous week but i hear Tesco is quite rife for people grabbing an entire shelf full of deals when they spot them

"Obviously i bought them all, so none left in Caister on sea."

why post, then? what you've put is basically ' ive bought all of these, look at the phones ive bought, i'm going to sell them on for profit, none for you!'

you didn't need to buy all 3, you could have bought 1 or if you want to try push the 'sell to pay for one' angle, 2 but buying all 3 is nothing but greed pure and simple and you're a complete liar if you deny that.

you could sell one for £30 and cover both the phone itself and the sold one plus extra but you didn't, you took all of the deal & seem to be gloating that you took all 3

oh and why should you leave some?

Because by taking them all

I recently bought a 640 and it is a fantastic phone. Battery lasts for ages, works really well as a phone and has all the apps on it I need.

I suppose if there are apps you can't get, and let's face it there are huge gaps in the Windows phone market, then it may not be the phone for you.

don't worry people this phone isn't even worth £10 I got one free for getting a lynx tablet and there currently £29 to buy the phone is OK for a toddler to play snacks and ladders that's it. the screen is plastic and isn't responsive at all the camera is like 3mp and has a blury pic and it's also like a brick phone in the hand it's very thick and cheap and plastic was a work phone I got rid of it the same week was unbearable and it was free! don't know if tesco still do it the deal I got was no a contract!!! I got a lynx 7 tablet and this phone came free for £79.99.

I bought the 635 last year for £29.99, very good phone, not great on the apps front seeing as it's windows store only, but everything works fine and dandy, compared to my last phone which was ancient Huawei, which would crash if you asked it to do something stupid, like send a text or use the music player. lol

Heat for sure.

29 Jan 16 4 #47
OP if you lived in my area and bought all the stock I would not be very happy with you. Mainly because I would've liked to get there first and buy all the phones myself!

Honestly, like someone said people have no problems jumping on a mispriced item or shortcuts for free postage (Amazon) etc.... But they get upset when someone decides to buy something that they can trade in or make a bit of extra cash on. In all honesty most of the stuff we buy on this site we don't really need, it's just cheap so we buy it.

How did OP get past the '2 phones per customer rule' instore? Does it still exist?!
westendtoo to SpeedyG
29 Jan 16 4 #34
Perhaps this "rule" no longer exists?
Perhaps as there were only three phones the "rule" was relaxed?
Perhaps staff were unaware of said "rule"?
Perhaps the "rule" is a guideline?

Perhaps no one cares?

Oneday77 get off your high horse, me and most of the HUKD site would of done the same thing. The way you have to look at it is if he hadn't done it then the next person who spotted it would of bought them all. I must remember next time im out and spot a bargain that i should leave some for other so they can buy them all up and sell them on eBay. One thing i will say is that people who buy all the cheap items to flog on eBay are scumbags like the PC games yesterday but those like me who would buy them to give or sell to family and friends at the same price are fine.

I had a bit of luck a couple of days ago, a couple off weeks back Amazon messed up on the price of the soon to be released Bewitched boxset it should have been £39.99 which it is now but Amazon had priced it at £4.99 so i bought one (just one) for myself but some scumbags on here were ordering loads to sell on eBay, anyway the other day i received a email from Amazon saying that they had mad a mistake but as a gesture of goodwill they were going to honor only the 1st one so those that thought they were going to sell 20 on eBay and make £30 on each came unstuck. They ended up with just one that the probably didn't want anyway as they were just to sell. Im well happy as i remember watching it with my mom as a kid and ive never had any misprice from Amazon honoured and i was very happy that the scumbags got shafted, so a good day.

Bossworld
29 Jan 16 1 #28
No real point in holier than thou attitudes for the sake of three cheap items in comparison to some of the dubious morals shown on here when a site has a glitch.

People ordering 50 of an item they don't need, people threatening to complain to Watchdog/anyone that will listen about an obvious misprice, the hate-fuelled posts directed at anyone who contacts a company etc.

Good luck to anyone that can get one of these and thanks for the potential heads up.

This is like an online version of the high street auctions from the late 80s when an excited punter would exit the shop telling passers-by he'd won a Black and Decker for a fiver. All it ever turned out to be were nondescript Walkmans and perfume bottles thrown to the crowd for a tenner apiece

I suppose i did clear the shelf, but there were 3, not 33!! There were obviously more before i arrived, as the shelf space was rather large for 3 phones!
I am in a sleepy little village which is over populated with 'seniors', hence why there were still some of these left!
As i stated, 1 will be sold, i will keep 1 to use as a work phone & i will probably give the other 1 to my mum as an upgrade for her 3310!

Oneday77 to poshaffi
29 Jan 16 5 #20
Yeah that's the spirit, HUKD is here just to allow people to restock their eBay inventory.

I have and will buy the odd deal in here to possibly enable a different purchase. However I won't clear a shelf if that was my only reason to buy.

When I do clear a shelf, it's normally to stock up on bargain toys to add to my Christmas toy appeal donation. Last years total was about £400 spent but £1,600 of retail value. My charitable intention out weighs my moral opinion of leave some for the next person. Whereas my intention to make a quick quid never over rides my moral choices. Some people will call it 2 faced but I can live with that.
