Example above is a total of eight Nat Trust cards (delivered) and vouchers for 7 pots of tea for 2 or 14 teas at selected National Trust properties in the UK. Use the code TASTER to bring the total down to £9.99. This does qualify for free postage. It's supposed to be over £10, but it works for £9.99. The vouchers need a code, which is simple to obtain online before they can be used. I've used this vouchers several times over Christmas. They let you into the tea room, but not into the house. But the outside gardens are free and usually very nice to walk through. Note: parking in a National Trust car park will be extra: so park outside the park! It's not all National Trust properties but there are some in all counties I think. I have a list. A list is supplied with the vouchers. The vouchers have no start or end date on them

How to obtain your free pack
Add at least one item to your basket to create your order.

At checkout, type the code TASTER in the voucher code box and click 'Apply'. A £5.99 discount will be applied.
Delivery is free to UK addresses for orders of £10 or more (and the Taster pack counts towards this total so you just need to spend another £4.01!).
The code is valid until Saturday, 30th January and can be used once per customer or residential address.

It all sounds a little complicated but it's very well worth doing, particularly in the 'off' season. People don't realise that the tea rooms associated with these big houses often remain open whilst the houses are shut. So it's nice and quiet everywhere! No coach tours. No screaming children!

I do not fully get it. Are gardens that you normally have to pay for free with this card? I cannot find the NT conditions anywhere...
Briz66 to muze77
26 Jan 161#40
No - everything is as normal (parking, house, gardens) - except that, if you present these vouchers in the tea room you get your tea for two for free. Depending on which tea room you're in, that's worth £3-£4.50ish.

25 Jan 16#26
Found this on another voucher
" 1. The voucher is redeemable for one pot of tea or speciality tea for two, two pots of tea or speciality tea for one, or two cups/mugs of tea, once only."
Whilst Kingston Lacey is one of the participing cafe, it's in the gardens so you have to pay £10+/person to get in or does the tea voucher allow access as well?
Newbold to mick50
25 Jan 16#27
In most cases the tearoom is inside the NT property. And to access the property you need to pay the entrance fee - usually around the £10 mark.

25 Jan 16#28
It shouldn't in theory, I don't think, it should only let you access the cafe. In the ones I've been to there are public grounds which anyone can access, with a National Trust car park in (which you still have to pay for if you park) then there is a tearoom or two in the public grounds, then there is the house/castle etc in it's own grounds which you have to pay for. Sissinghurst is like that. And the others I've been to. I haven't been to Kingston Lacey. You could try ringing the National Trust on 0844 800 185 (5p min apparently)

This shouldn't happen! It would be like blackmail! There is no mention of this on the voucher terms and conditions. It has never happened to me.

25 Jan 16#30
in EVERY nt place I've ever visited you do not have to go in the property to go in the tea room
Newbold
25 Jan 16#31
It depends entirely on the location of the tearoom. In some properties it's accessible to the general public near the entrance and the shop - but in others it's well inside the grounds, and you'll obviously need to pay to get in. The offer's fair enough - you just need to check the property.
jasee
25 Jan 16#32
I don't think the offer is 'fair enough' if you've got to pay to get in the tea rooms. That could be as much as twenty pounds for two! It makes a nonsense of the 'free tea'
There should be some mention of this on the terms on the voucher. There is nothing. I assumed that this was why it wasn't ALL national trust properties, just some listed, the ones where the tea room could be accessed from the public area.

I did the two taster packs for 5.99 so 6 vouchers/pots for that much.
3 for 1.74 sounds better i guess, i didnt see how you could do that!?

If you have a card they will let you in, also there are a LOT of places where there is just grounds so the tea room is freely available. As for parking don't bother paying the NT byelaws were written in the 70s and never updated the maximum fine is £5 which is often lower than the cost of parking AND they don't actually have a system in place to fine people anyway (unless they've sold the parking rights off to a private company) I have never paid to park at the NT and never will, the worst I had is the please pay up for your parking notice stuck on the car which just goes in the bin.
Anyway I haven't seen a single place that has an inaccessible tea room yet mind you i'm only 40 so haven't been to many :man: altho I do have inside knowledge of the NT

Well mine have arrived this morning and at first looked as if no vouchers in the five pack as no sticker on the cards to indicate one was inside...however they are....they nearly went back
My cards have arrived but the first one I opened is missing the tea voucher. Its Sheringham Park, has a steam train on the front. Has anyone else got the same card please? All the others are ok. Thanks
