Cheapest Skylake board out there atm and seems decent for basic i5 builds.

DisplayPort on a motherboard? Okay.......
DVI will easily suffice as i doubt people use 4k on integrated

What are you on about? Most PCs use integrated graphics as most aren’t used for gaming or require a dGPU for other reasons.
Why shouldn’t you choose Skylake just because you aren’t a gamer?
If you want a high resolution screen but don’t game integrated graphics are generally fine.
So many gamers on this site only seem to look at PC tech through the lens of their own myopic gaming bias.

There's more to skylake than the latest cpu it's hot an incredible gpu (for intel) in it. I'll wager 99% of non gamers would probably still be happy with a vga connector. Seriously most people not gaming would be perfectly happy within the limitations of this motherboard.
Dunno why people are making such a fuss over a £40 motherboard

This is a motherboard. Not a PC/TV Box or whatever you think it is.
It will support Kodi but you need other parts such as a CPU/RAM/PSU/Case/HDD or SSD and a CPU Cooler

It is cheap, but No HDMI and No DP, a very basic board.

well, for 4k desktop use Skylake igpu should be fine and since Intel didn't manage to include HDMI 2.0 with Skylake that really requires Displayport (which I would be fine with as I think Displayport is the better interface but unfortunately TV manufactured prefer HDMI)

Not many people use iGPUs especially not with skylake, its really not an issue

Well they certainly won't on this MB

So wrong, not everyone wants/needs an additional display card. This is a cheap Skylake MB but is severely crippled for many potential users. Don't just pump up the deal, accept valid criticism.

Precisely, there are many scenarios where integrated is perfectly fine and a graphic card would just be an unnecessary expense, source of noise, and potential point of failure.
Some people dismiss integrated so much that the look for expensive cards able to drive 3/4 monitors for non-gaming use and don't even consider driving two from their motherboard and just getting a graphic card to drive the other two (although the BIOS on some motherboards doesn't / didn't offer the option to use both).

Is the DVI output on this board really limited to [email protected]? Seems a bit limiting in 2016.

Not sure you'd be buying a h110 board for your top end gaming build at resolutions >1080p.

why is there an immediate assumption that anything above 1200P @60HZ is only of interest to gamers though?
Screen real estate is surely far more important for productive use where the iGPU would be perfectly fine.

Are people really complaining about display port on the lowest end skylake board?
If you are using integrated what's the point of going skylake and why are using high end resolutions on iGPUs

Yes - good stuff. I have an 8 year old Dell Inspiron 530 and I don't see why I have to throw away its perfectly serviceable case, power supply and DVD drives just because I want a faster machine, though I would get an SSD as these are so cheap now. I have a keyboard, mouse and a nice display with DVI - HDMI provides no advantages for me. Neither do I need a K-series overclockable CPU - bog standard is fine. Suggestions for processors and RAM which hit the sweet spot are welcome.

Not really the industry standard for the time being is 1080p which this mobo has it beat !
Also i was mistaken, has the same amount of USB sockets, my bad

So well put it deserved repeating.
Don't Skylake CPUs give you more bang per watt than previous generations? If you care about such things, and I do, then that's a reason to use them that's not just for gamers.

Intel's iGPU's are very good encoding and decoding video. If you like to record gameplay for example. Or if you watch movies on your PC, you can let the iGPU handle the decoding, H.265 and all.
Yes, dGPU's can do this usually, but Intel with QuickSync is extremely efficient at it. With gameplay recording, it's a very small performance hit too.

I have this exact board with an i5 6400, a single stick of 8GB DDR4 2133mhz RAM and a Radeon R9 380X. Very nice budget/mid tier gaming machine. Had it over a month, no problems so far
