I asked both Aldi and Lidl if they would price match Morrison's prices.
They both replied, "No, we don't price match as we'd have to put up our prices". :stuck_out_tongue:

No I'm a pensioner who shops at the St Albans store, we must be lucky if you're disappointed with your store. I shop at Aldi Hatfield and Lidl at Borehamwood and have been doing so for years so I think I'm able to make a good judgement on these stores. I also buy the same food every week and so I know quality when I eat it! Do you work for Aldi or Lidl or their marketing arm??

I asked Aldi and Lidl if they had any baked beans. They both replied "Yes we do, there's pallets of them all over the place and a load of tins scattered about the floor too. By the way, we've reduced the size of our packing area even more and you only get 3 seconds to pack all your shopping away."

Nice to see Morrisons giving both the German Discounters a run for their money, Morrison's Veg is so competitively priced now and the meat is far better than discounters, got fed up with the flavour and toughness of Aldi and Lidl Meat and Chickens, Morrisons farm their own so quality is exceptional and low price. I would say that Asda Steaks have always been very good.as well.

Can't agree with any of that, you're luck to find anything actually fresh at morrisons nowadays, are you some kind of manager for them ?

The Morrison's large lattice pork pies are good.
I only buy them when they are on offer for £1 (as they have been recently). From their deli counter.

I shop at all three but I didnt agree that Morrisons are going down hill and their products are off. St Albans Morrisons , formerly a Safeway Store where I have shopped for more that 20 years and its prices and quality for Fruit/ Veg and Meat are the best in the area. I'm not buying food that is of second rate quality and price as I'm on a fixed income want the best value for money. I'm sorry if other Morrison stores are not on par with our Store but I'm a Yorkshire man and I speak as I find!

Good for you Ralph' to be fair I don't shop at any because I shop at Asda however I know a few people who shop at morrisons and swear by then' I know a couple of folk who shop at Aldi and say the food is quality as is the prices!
I don't dis believe either as I can't vouch for either' if it works for you then good for you

Morrisons if definitely the best for Yellow Stickers at the moment. The St Albans store are often out of broccoli even before when it was 42p, now with an extra 4p off I guess they will never have any....
Have to say that morrisons are terrible at fresh beans/sugar snap peas/flat beans etc - ting bags, high prices :disappointed:

Cant speak for lidl but both aldi and morrisons are great supermarkets, both provide great fresh food at great prices. I go to whichever is convenient since one is close to where I live and the other to where I work.

I wouldn't, I find Morrisons much better quality than Aldi on most things, and especially meat. Plus I like to check sell by dates on stuff I'm buying so Aldi fails on that too for veg.

For 1 reason we have to shop at 1 of the big supermarkets only because lidl & aldi only sell a small amount of food they're limited as to what you can cook

They should do! It wouldn't smell any worse than the smell that hits you when you walk into Lidl/Aldi - Vile!!! Makes me heave every time.

At Lidl Borehamwood the first isle on the left hand side now has fresh bread buns and cakes all on open display, so it smells good. Not sure on hygiene, never been tempted to buy as I think it should be covered up or at least wrapped.

Morrisons are awful. I have one 5 mins away and only go there in emergencies. I would never dream of doing a big shop in any of their stores. Aldi and Lidl are far better.

I've always found veg very good in Morrisons, Lidl was excellent but has recently declined and Aldi is awful, I suppose it will vary in different stores because staff and managers have the decision to leave veg what looks rotten on the shelves or replace with fresh decent veg.

I'm waiting to see how low a stick off brocolli can go, a couple of years ago I remember paying between £1 and £1.20 in sainsburys and Asda. Thought 50p was cheap now 38p the'll be giving it away soon :innocent:
