"Some scientists claim that hydrogen, because it is so plentiful, is the basic building block of the universe. I dispute that. I say there is more stupidity than hydrogen, and that is the basic building block of the universe.

I don't use cold & flu remedies for back pain though.

It depends on the pain. Pain killers can actually cause continual pain eventually ironically.
I assumed Paracetamol in the cold & flu remedies was helping. Was that incorrect too?

Protein supplements what a load of crap, you're all being taken for mugs, really no need for this. Just eat properly
I'll concede that 45p is nothing, I hope it tastes good as you'll be crapping it down the pan anyway. Shovel it down ya necks anyway because you assume it must be useful.
Whatever exercise you do at whatever level, you need to eat properly to make the most improvement. Don't take supplements. If you want to be a bodybuilder like Arnie then you need:
1. Steroids. Absolutely necessary as it's impossible to have that muscle mass without them
2. Creatine - You don't need to load it, if you load it then guess what you're making money for the supplement companies.
Just forget supplements and eat properly and exercise.
Protein supplementation = *******
Everything you take from a cold remedy to muscle pain remedy is because of assumption, it's because of second hand knowledge because someone else told you it works, so you believe it. Deep Heat, it doesn't work, doesn't do a thing, but you believe it does and it's on the shelf at Boots so it must work. Cold and Flu remedies, they don't do anything significant at all, taking honey and lemon has a better effect. Assumption loses you money.
We've all grown up believing many over the counter remedies and supplements such as multi vitamins actually do something useful, they're helpful, you're not getting all the vitamins and minerals in your diet right? So that means you must supplement, WRONG. You've assumed this.
Research it, it's all out there. The evidence for supplementing is limited, there's the problem of quality control and bioavailability. Many of you will not believe what I'm saying, but that's ok, you've been taught something and it goes against your belief, your values, it's not something you want to believe or accept because it's not something you're comfortable with. It probably won't hurt you to supplement various things, except you won't have as much money. If it makes you happy then continue.
The person at the gym with the pristine physique, he supplements, he tells you what he takes, he must be right because his physique is evidence he is right, you don't need any more proof than that, did you watch him 24 hours a day? Did you see everything he was eating and supplementing? It must be true though because you need all this protein to grow your muscles and you can't get this protein from your normal diet can you? So what about all those people for hundred and thousands of years with fantastic physiques, that couldn't get protein powder, how did they get it? Was it genetics? Were they slaying a herd of wilderbeast and eating them all? No they just ate food, but better food than you ate now, it wasn't so easy to obtain food, but they had limited processed food, it was mostly natural. But they all bloody died young though didn't they? Hmm well you have a point, but they died from organisms that they didn't have treatments for, antibiotics and pain relief were massive medical improvements. Did they all die young though? Most people didn't live over 45 or something like that? Well no there's been people all through the ages that have lived in to their 100s, in fact as the industrial revolution took hold, then the class system started to take hold and poverty let to decline in health. You can look across the world to islands near Japan and places in India where people have lived in to the 100s for millenia.
I believe what I learn, then I look at what I've learnt and question it. Always question everything, including everything I say, because not everything I say will be 100% truth, it's what I've learnt.

That is a bargain I have been paying 99p at b and m's. But they are not good for you lol, 10g protein is rubbish for 45g bar and there's over 2 gram saturated fat and loads of sugar and carbs. Fruit one tastes nice though
