Love a bit of golden syrup on my porridge and just before pancake day try to stock up on a few bargain bottles for the year, these are normally £1.89 so an 89p saving (did that in my head!) Widely available at the moment as supermarkets fight it out for this years pancake business

Easy way is to put HOT water in either the sink or a saucepan put tin in for 10 mins then it will run out from the tin a lot easier smoother. Where there`s money to be saved or a better option, I WILL find a way.

The tinned version is definetley thicker I keep a couple of sauce bottles that have a squeezy cap, a good wash an fill up with the tinned version, thicker and stronger tasting. Tesco sometimes sell the large tin for about £1.30p

Must admit to having tried to refill a squeezy bottle but the mess it made (it's SO sticky) made me give that idea up and it was a real faff trying to spoon it onto my porridge .

Tinned stuff is definitely nicer, thicker and it just has more taste. I tried some own brand stuff a couple of times and the only thing it had in common was it was the same coloir, but the ditsinctive taste wasnt there.

I swear this stuff is slightly runnier than the tinned variety. I attempted to refill a bottle and it took ages to funnel the tinned stuff in

It more than likely is. Like squeezy mayonnaise which is def not as thick as the jar stuff.

Agreed. This stuff is hardly ever on offer in my local Asda.
