Logitech K400 Wireless touchpad keyboard
Reduced to clear in Currys PC World, but low stock. John Lewis will price match, which my local store did.

I know people that use these kinds of keyboards for everyday use, don't ask me how they manage it, but they do! I was using other means to control my PC from across the room, most people would have just used a standard wireless mouse and keyboard from their sofa but as my primary keyboard is a Corsair K95 RGB.... My point being is this is cheap enough to make it a plausible purchase!

28 Jan 16#91
As a rule I hate these type of keyboards, but for <£5 I might get one (if there's any in my local) just to make controlling my pc easier when watching movies. Use it purely as a remote control!

Not much of a rule, show me a better way to control a PC plugged into your telly from the sofa? I don't think many people buy these for desktop usage!

Just got the last one in my local JL after showing her this post. The woman was hesitant as it was priced at £29 and did some checks but eventually gave it to me for the £4.97 price.

Right... So you're saying that the k400 plus was priced at £4.97 ?

28 Jan 16#89
These are great, but it's been replaced twice - the K400R and then the K400 Plus.
Tbh, nothing much has changed, if anything they got worse (R decided to turn F keys into media keys by default, annoying, and the plus is the same again with not-as-nice plastic but a larger shift key).
However, seeing as PC World have stocked the replacements since, and they are not often discounted terribly below RRP (meaning even someone like me might just buy at PC world in a pinch), the number of these original K400 left in store must be tiny by now, so good luck to anyone trying to find one!

I had a black k400 and a white k400+ for £7.50 each thanks to last year's Logitech deal.
I kept the k400 and sold the k400+. The white k400+ looked cheaper and I preferred the larger trackpad buttons and the full sized arrow keys on the k400.

Can I go to John Lewis in bluewater and say I saw this deal in Tunbridge Wells and get them to price match it? Was there anything else you said to them?
Rob2007 to Bengali.Gangsta
28 Jan 16#84
I would. The customer service desk is on the 1st floor, at the back of the store. The keyboards are on the top floor, near the cameras; show them my picture and say Tunbridge Wells JL have price matched Currys PC World.

I've got one of these and use it on my Kodibuntu PC. Its brilliant as a media centre keyboard for occasional use. Also works plugging it in to my samsung TV for the smart features.
Wouldn't recomend it in place of a normal keyboard for everyday use though. But for a media centre at £4.97 its a steal.

28 Jan 16#73
Whatever. I cannot be bothered to deal with you, and your inferior opinion. This keyboard can be found in Dixons, the SEL is national, just got to find the stores with stock. There's no false hope; this is not a Tesco yellow sticker clearance item.

JL won't match on Clearance items as most retailers won't. if you check their T&C. They'll have a look at offers online , if it's not in stock or clearly marked as end of line they won't price match
Rob2007 to pnaylor39

Well as you can from my receipt, they price matched with no trickery or retailer arguments; just a simple transaction.

It's a great keyboard, we have it for our media tv PC, the amount of times its fell off the sofa and still lives, also never changed the batt unlike the Microsoft curve which runs out every week

28 Jan 16#60
What are you talking about? There is no false hope in this deal; obviously these keyboards aren't going to be stacked on the shelves in their hundreds, but if 10-20 people can buy one from their local store then it's a win. That SEL will be used throughout Dixons. And failing that, John Lewis can price match it, just like they did for me.
FYI that grubby keyboard was at Crawley Currys PC World; if anyone wants it?
snowee
28 Jan 162#59
You are giving people false hope - I know you didn't buy the grubby one - this deal is not attainable for others in JL - they are not selling it for £4.97 nationwide - the only deal I can see here is if the grubby ONE is still available for ONE person in Tunbridge Wells! But then they are essentially buying a used item!

Are you people all insane? This was a grubby ex-display model - RTC - highly unlikely anybody else will find the same deal - it's like me posting a deal for a 40p chicken (or even goose) I found in Tesco! LOL
Rob2007 to snowee
28 Jan 16#57
What are you talking about? The ex-display model was left behind, because it was grubby, hence why I went to John Lewis instead. Re-read the comments. You will find this deal elsewhere; I know for a fact that there are k400 keyboards at John Lewis - Bluewater.

This is a great keyboard - pretty much the best available if you need one with a trackpad (or even if you don't). I've used mine with my desktop when I'm not sat at my desk, with a Steam Link, with a Windows tablet and with a Raspberry Pi, all without any problems or even having to install any drivers.
