Anyone who bought one of these checked the manufacture date of the battery. Mine was July 2015 !! Older than the phone lol.

I figured this isn't going to get any cheaper. Ordered yesterday afternoon, free delivery, Yodel turned up with it lunchtime. As expected. Comes with a plastic case to carry the battery. The box charges quite fast pulling close to 2A from a capable charger.

I had this problem (the phone was draining about 30% over night even when in Airplane mode). I even bought another battery but it made no difference. I then did a factory reset which completely fixed the problem. Battery running great again now :smiley:

Yes. Leave phone on charge over night for a few days as mine fixed itself. Seems to calibrate itself. Forums said it takes a few days to sort itself out and it did.. I was getting a warm phone around the top near camera and around 5 hours battery life after marshmallow update. The only other thing I changed was the circle case clock face as that was a strange vintage clock to a more basic one. Don't think that was causing problem. You also need to update all apps then restart phone once a day until it settles but I think 6+ hours in charge for a few nights fixed my g4... Battery is fantastic now and phone stays cold.

I updated mine and then it bricked itself. Managed to get it booted up today and no android or operating system files were able to view in 'My Computer'. No access with LG Bridge. Managed to back up calls and messages and then it went back into a coma. Everything is there, screen working as it should. It just won't stay on. Something has upset it and think it is more software related than hardware. Anyway decided to buy this battery charge kit just for peace of mind that it wasn't the battery that was at fault and it isn't. Came in two days. Don't pay the extra for express.

Just updated mine to Android 6.0, find the battery lasts about a day and a half with moderate use. I'm not sure whether this is good or not but it's better than any phone I've ever owned in recent years.

Will buy this simply for the spare official battery. Thank you OP.

Heads up - eBuyer use Yodel to deliver and require a signature from that address, so you may want to get it delivered to work if you can. I had to cancel a previous order because they wouldn't deliver to my home at a time I would be able to sign for it. Add in the fact that they wouldn't change the delivery address and I found it a little frustrating.

Damn, I wish I had know that. I have asked them to deliver to work but yodel can work really late. They delivered my phone last year at 7.30 at night to my home address. That could be that their courier lives two minutes from my house lol. Quite handy if I miss them. As I am local I have the courier's home number so just pop to his house to collect any parcels which is well handy.

After a long debate, bearing in mind what's recently happened to my G4, I decided to buy. Just wanted really to try another battery in my G4 before it goes to the phone hospital. At least I will know its not the battery if it still has to go in.
Nice envelope, bag, box, packaging etc arrived from Virgin today. That's damn good service so far.

Its always good to have options but I won't ever buy any batteries or chargers that are not genuine from places like Amazon and Ebay. A lot of scary stories out there about cheap stuff made in the far east that don't meet our regs and are dangerous. Different if Amazon is selling the product direct but anybody else then no way. Everything can be faked but at least the genuine product is being sold on Amazon by a reputable company.

When out and about I use this plugged into a large battery pack. When the battery in this is charged the LED goes green to signify this and the power draw drops to a point where the battery pack switches itself off. When plugged into a wall charger the green LED will remain lit indefinitely.
