There's also an i7/R9 graphics version for £599 although the graphics card may bottleneck a bit because of the DDR3 memory:

I have this laptop and it's fast. I think the screen is good. It's £379.99! If you can post a better deal with better screen and graphic card at the moment please do.

How do you get it at that price, as I see it listed as £429.99? Has the price gone up since this deal was posted? If so, is there any other better deal out there now? Thanks.

Yeah, unfortunately it was only a weekend deal. Not sure what's been posted recently but I'm sure something similar will turn up soon.

Looking for a laptop for my family for Internet browsing, school work and the odd few games. Storage for pics. Any suggestions guys. Price range £500.
Thinkpad X1 Carbon is a high class premium laptop with 14 inch screen at the same time been so lightweight as an Ultrabook partly due to its carbon-fibre case. Its downside is the FHD is only TN panel. Some people buy their own IPS screen for £50 and replace the screen themselves.

It is a ok laptop at this price as long as you know what you are getting before your purchase.
Do not put your hope too high. Because both the FHD screen and graphic card are not good.
The i5 5200u is used widely in most today's consumer laptops at the price range. I do not have a problem with that. So as the SSHD.
If you do need a lot process power, you will need budget around 700 to get i7 HQ version which has twice or more power.
The specs sound good than actually it is. The extra mile it went with FHD is not good. AMD Meso XT 2Gb Graphics card is not good neither.
And the overall quality of Z50 or Z51 are not great, do not contribute any price to its quality.

Anyone know if this will handle Photoshop with ease? Seems like a good price for an i5 with full HD.
Edit: Poor viewing angles, and disappointing colours cited in Amazon reviews. It's a no for me, for these reasons.

It'll run Photoshop no problem, depending on your workload Photoshop likes RAM, so I can't say it would run Photoshop amazingly well for you as I don't know your workload.

Yes, you made the right decision.
If you want to buy a laptop for photo or graphic work, this is not for you. The screen is bad, not only it is a TN, and it is a bad TN panel.

You do not see that kind of deal here every day.
