I contacted John Lewis who applied a £60 credit to my account so I could purchased office 365. My friend bought his instore and they gave him a key over the phone.

Mine has arrived, am typing on it right now.
It actually appears to perform pretty well, although it is a fairly new config!
After installing Chrome (has to set the date too, to actually be able to access the internet), there's nearly 20GB available..
The keyboard is okay, the keys are a little small, and the number row is a little offset so the 1 is a little far to the right than you expect. Still, it's a tiny system, what do you expect.
The screen is not too bad, for 1280x800, it's fairly crisp.
It doesn't seem to work with 5ghz wifi.
The touchscreen is responsive and everything appears to be working well there.
When the keyboard is docked, there is a nice slope for the keyboard because of how the hinge works, which is good.
Build quality appears to be pretty good so far.

I have op-com on mine as well as forscan. You can load the software on it. Tested op-com on a Corsa D 2012. Very slow to access the program and wouldn't access the ECU. I then tried on my wife's Acer with an i3 processor and although a lot quicker it still wouldn't access the ECU. My Op-com is up to date but need to try it on my son's Astra H wo see if it's the Miix 3 or windows driver. I will let you know. I used mine with the keyboard. You can't do it without I wouldn't have thought.

Would I be able to op-com/vaux-com on this either by screen only or keyboard aswell? My opcom has a normal size USB connector and needs a driver! Thanks

I agree there doesn't appear to be much difference between the two processors. I just checked my Dad's quite expensive at the time HP laptop from 2009 and it's processor only has a benchmark of 1235 !!
As far as the screen is concerned it could be offered on deals like this if the Miix 3 is anything to go by. The earlier miix 3 only has 1280 x 800 resolution and the later ones had 1920 x 1200 resolution. I bought mine from JL at £149.95, just £20.00 more than the deal posted. As with all stock when it's coming to the end of production or production has ceased the prices fall. Proves it's best to wait. I cannot fault the quality of the 1920 x 1200 on mine. Absolutely perfect for the price.
I am not sure if I or the masses will agree with you on your last paragraph as judging from the heat the Lenovo 10" android tab 2 has attracted recently there is plenty of interest in android tablets. Its horses for courses and what you want the device to do. For general surfing, emails, skype, games etc android is perfect. However I find it easier to type on an actual keyboard than on screen and it definitely faster. I was after a tab last year and nearly bought the Samsung Tab Pro 10.1". I didn't because I have android on my phone and thought it would be no different. I bought the miix 3 but after spending quite a few nights upgrading to 10, doing a recovery back up and then re-installing from the back up I had created to ensure a fresh install of windows I was really wishing I had bought a tablet. I kept the miix 3 but haven't really used it much. It's there if I need it in case my mac breaks and it also runs the software diagnostic for my car which is handy for when going away.
However I have just bought one of the Lenovo android tabs so will see how they perform side by side.
The £119 Very option doesn't have the 1 year of Office 365 - which IMO doesn't have any value, so no great loss. The 2 year warranty (without arguments) and JL name is probably worth another tenner IMO.
1280x800 is okay, on a 10" screen certainly acceptable, although text won't be crispy like on an iPad. I'd put IPS higher up the list compared to a 1920x1080 TN screen. On the other hand, maybe the lower resolution is more obvious in tablet mode, when it's closer to your eyes.
Still, given how pointless Android tablets are, because Android and it's ecosystem just never warmed up there, and how closed the iPad is, and how if you want to do something slightly out of what is expected (say, programming or using a very specific app) then you're SoL, then this may help, and it's only £129. The worst that can happen is that it turns into a kitchen interactive recipe display, or YouTube display for the little one.

Surprising really seeing how much these macs cost. Mine was on a macbook 15". First sign is the laptop getting warm. A couple of my top row keys seem to pop up slightly. I didn't know about the heat issue then and thought the hard drive had failed. I took it out, put it in a caddy and checked it. I have a macbook pro 17" now and it has the same issues, it's about 2 years newer than the 15" but possibly about 7 years old now. It was my sons and he used it every day for work for about 4 years before giving it to me. Its been well hammered and doesn't like running videos for too long. I keep an eye on the istat menu for cpu heat but have managed to keep it going for another three years. It was a common problem on these series of macs. Should be ok on the new ones but whoever they were using for assembly back then wasn't doing a proper job on the heatsink. Xbox 360 owners suffered the same problems. It can be solved and it maybe something I may attempt someday on the 15" as that is in part bits since I took the hard drive out to check it. You need to remove the heatsink from the back of the cpu, scrape off the thermal paste residue and then re-apply new thermal paste between the cpu and the heatsink. Stupid idea and prone for failure on everything that requires a heatsink to keep it cool. If mine fails I will have it repaired as it's a damn good laptop and even though its 7 years old now its a damn site better than anything else I have tried. Windows is a bit of a joke tbh. Will see how we get on with windows 10 but I just re-formatted my dad's HP laptop running 7 as it was unresponsive. It took 30 minutes to reload windows and 24 hours later after 5 million windows updates I still haven't got the windows 10 update. Why they make it so awkward, complicated and long winded is just a joke. It's not like this with Apple and as for android it would have reset itself and all the updates in about 20 minutes.

Interesting. Expect UK prices to be the same in £ as shown in $, i.e. $229.00 US Dollars will be listed at £229.00 over here. To start with anyway until such point as nobody buys and then the price will come down. I have a miix 3 which in my opinion is better than the 300 as it has a higher screen resolution. It cost £149.99 and sold out in a few weeks at that price but I wouldn't have paid any more. Interesting to see that the new miix 310 has a full hd screen of 1920 x 1080. Personally I would hang on buying a 300 as there is a good chance that the last ones to be made, if not done so already, will have a higher resolution screen.
Ha yes, a table table could come in useful but not very portable though. They had them in the 80's for some game that I can't remember the name of.
If only Cameron2021 had bothered to read post 13 he would have seen how much ram it has.

Yes it will be fine for that. I have the miix 3 which I bought as a secondary device. I have a macbook pro, what happened to yours. Did it start getting hotter and hotter until it eventually died. Apple have fixed it now but I think from about 10 ears back they were having heatsink issues. They get hotter and hotter and eventually died. Happened on my last 15" and the 17" is going the same way. On macs it is essential you download isat or similar to keep an eye on the cpu temp.

Very important piece of information missing OP. Which is this table has 2GB of Ram. I don't think I will be getting it, though I am looking for a tablet, can't make a decision. So not voting either way on this. Will be a good deal for some people though...:sunglasses:
Yes 2 USB's on the keyboard. Looks like John Lewis spec is referring to the screen only.

I really liked the look of this but I'm concerned about the lack of USB ports. I need one for the mouse and one for USB backup. I would use the sd card for increasing the disk space. I know the new Dell Inspiron 11 3000 is a different kettle of fish but it has 2 full size USB's including USB3. Still, heat added, thanks.
I wouldn't use the SD to increase disk space unless it's pure storage. It'd be sloooowwww to install apps to.
