Seems like a reasonable deal to me as includes an SSD as standard rather than mechanical HD. People on here often moan about laptops not being equipped as standard with an SSD.
Admittedly, not a huge SSD but probably big enough to store OS and apps for most people. It might suit someone who doesn't need a huge amount of storage and willing to sacrifice that for a quick boot up time/general improved system performance.
You could always remove the DVD drive and use an 2.5" HD to DVD adapter bracket to place a mechanical drive in the DVD slot for extra storage. I have done this before.
As usual with Lenovo (or certainly so I have found to date) all major components (RAM, Drive bay and wireless card) accessible via easily removed bottom hatch.
Upgradeable to 16GB RAM.
Oh, please don't moan about the resolution: You wont get 1920x1080 at this price!

They've been around for about 15 years under this name, I used to use them a lot with no problems. Only reason I haven't used them much lately are because amazon are nearly always cheaper. They used to be called watford elctronics but their wharehouse is in luton. You can also arrange to collect from them by appointment.

Last year I bought a Lenovo G510 with i7-4700HQ (quad core) CPU and I've barely used it due to major problems with SATA connections being unstable or disappearing completely. At first I thought it was problems with the SSD that I fitted but I've recently had a bit more spare time to fault find and discovered it's a SATA corruption issue. I've found out it's a common issue and Lenovo's supposed fix is to factory reset or re-install Windows device drivers. Unfortunately neither of these is a suitable solution as it doesn't address the actual issue which is caused by the hardware itself and if the device is not being detected reinstalling the driver isn't going to help.. The only temporary fix is to remove battery, physically remove the drives, make sure everything is discharged, replace the drives, replace battery, power on. I wouldn't touch a Lenovo again.

I know Lenovo claim B series is business quality.
But B50 is not very good quality, its quality is more similar to consumer laptops.
If you want actually business quality, consider starts from Lenovo E series.
Of course, E series with the same/similar specs starts from £280, £40 more expensive.
Which is why I vote hot for the deal. But please do not claim that B50 will be proper business laptop quality, it is not.

I recommend anyone buying this to do a clean install of Windows or Linux if you prefer. I would not trust Lenovo's stock installation, look up "Superfish".

Superfish was even on some refurb ThinkPads. I think the media just caught it as they were slowly putting it on everything they could. Point is who knows what else they've got in there?
Clean install is good practice for Windows anyway, if nothing else it'll come with McAfee and a load of other crap that's impossible to uninstall.

As opposed to Asus / Acer / Sony / Toshiba etc etc... I return more Lenovos than any other make of laptop, they also only have one repair centre and it's in Germany and often they don't repair anything they just send it back for the end user to then have to hassle to get a refund.
