If a new version is released it doesn't hurt the value of your investment. If you look at the prices of the previous versions of the Lego Millennium Falcon, those values have nothing but go up. Once a set is retired the value invariably will go up as demand for these no-longer-on-sale sets sees people having to go to places like eBay and bid for the set. Look on eBay at any of the previous Lego Millennium Falcons and you won't find a boxed, complete, set for sale for less than the original RRP.
Sets being retired and replaced with new sets is a good thing for your investment, not a bad thing.

I don't know why you're quoting me for. I'm saying the same thing. It's not about any old Lego set.

it's not as simple as "buy LEGO, hold it for a while, sell, make millions" ... this set is of the Millennium Falcon, which will get remade every time there is a film featuring the ship, which hurts the value of your new investment.

Only if it's an "exclusive" or "hard to find" category. Lego sites states them.
Some people are just assuming that it's just a kids toy, but there are alot of collectors out there collecting books, cars, cameras etc. Lego just happen to one of those collectors item.
Hold this for a good 5+ years it will be worth a bit more.

HUKD - Wake up - see in-store deal - run to all those stores within a 30 mile radius (as they never answer the phone) only to find - if lucky - an empty shelf with a teaser sticker saying "this is what you could have had...". Rinse repeat the next day.

they've not got any. I went this afternoon and was dead excited, but was told they had had two but they went days ago.
I don't understand why this deal keeps getting hotter and hotter when the store posted doesn't have any lego millennium falcons .........
this is a genuine sainsburys deal but good luck finding one :disappointed:

PROFIT??????? What profit would that be, then? They're going for under £95 on eBay inc Delivery. You've just laid out £260 for 3 of them to make less than £8 profit on each of them ( if you're lucky ).
Great move! I have a bridge for sale in London...... I'm sure you'd be interested in buying it :smirk:

Went to the Silksworth store maybe an hour ago to get this and they don't have any.
Asked a member of staff and even showed them this post and they said they did have them, but they only had two and they both sold a few days ago. They'd even rearranged all the shelves since and there's not a gap for these on the shelves.
It was a deal but was posted a few days too late sadly, deal expired for this store. Don't waste your time like I did.

Bloody hell, what a deal! Wish my sainsburys had this! Bought mine for £130!
The big Sainsbury's in Colchester Stanway have none, I did see a lable for the offer. Quite a few gaps on the Lego shelves where there have been reductions.

yeah I was very fortunate but a lot of gaps also. I initially went with series 14/simpsons minifigures in mind but only managed to get one simpsons one priced at 50p! :disappointed: just random stock i guess

Please can the Mods create a section for "in store" bargains or a separate one for on-line. Don't mind either way. But these just get my hopes up, then dashed when I read further.
