Interesting comments! Rum is made from sugar cane, but the sugar does not pass through the distillation process. Pure rum has zero sugar, but you would be surprised at how many rums have added sugar!
The Kraken is a spiced rum like Sailor Jerry and Capt Morgan. All spiced rums have added flavours, sugar and usually colouring.
I bought a litre at this price before Christmas on Amazon lightning deal. Now that was cheap! it's nearly all gone, so can't be that bad. I like it with ginger ale and lime.

You might have heard of distillation. There is no sugar in rum unless it's added afterward.

love this rum, only seems to mix with cheap cola though, cant drink it with anything else, also nice just on the rocks, heat!

It's stronger than the majority of normal mixer spirits at 40% as opposed to 37.5%. So it's an alcopop because it doesn't taste like petrol?
