Seems impossible to find proper info on this at the moment, but from the picture it looks like a mini fillet burger, popcorn chicken, drink, fries and a hot wing. A good deal for £3. Or if you buy 2, it gets to £6 so you can claim 20% off with a receipt (can always find one on 1 of the many dirty tables in all branches and make up any 5-digit code to write on). Items may or may not be changeable, can anyone confirm? Don't forget your loyalty card/app which you will earn a stamp on also.

Every single KFC offer here is the same:

You will die eating it;
They serve up brains and lungs;
Nandos is better;
I'd rather die than eat KFC;
My restaurant is better than yours;
My brothers friends dads mates aunties hairdresser found a hens tooth in his bargain bucket;
How do I use the code thingy? (Repeat 12 times although it's been explained 13 times already);
My mate Dave saw the guy who makes the chicken picking his nose;
It's cruel to chickens - really? I would have thought they loved being killed, chopped up, coated in the colonels special batter and deep fried!
Etc

Never disappointed, thank you :smiley:

Is it cheaper than normal? Yes = deal
Is it quite a bit cheaper than normal? Yes = hot deal

No rules about any of the rest of the above, just the deal and hot bit, and it should probably be available in the UK or people get cross - they get a little bit annoyed when something isn't available in their local Tesco so if it was only on offer in Spain I should think we would have a lot of very annoyed people...

Absolutely correct, KFC, Nando's and McDonalds in the UK get their chicken supplied by Moy Park: http://www.moypark.com/en. If you shop Home Bargains, you will occasionally find a deal on Moy Park chicken thighs.

Once you've cooked and tasted these for yourself, you understand why the companies go for them. It is delicious, and excellent quality. Only other store bought chicken to come close in quality in the UK is M&S.

Usual Prices -

mini fillet burger = £1.49 i think, small popcorn chicken = £1.49 (or £1 depending if the kfc does the streetwise deals), drink is usually a £1 add-on for a meal deal, same with fries, and a hot wing i think is 50p. Not much of a saving imo but voted hot.

4 Feb 16 5 #38
I've noticed the quality of the chicken in KFC branches varies from branch to branch. Some are really tasty; some are just rank.

Or even at different times at the same branch could make a difference. Take Sheffield Meadowhall for example (city where I grew up), if it's busy the chicken is good because it's freshly cooked. When it's not as busy, the chicken is dry.
hass123 to snow18
4 Feb 16 1 #41
This 100% from personal experience. Also sometimes the restaurant might say the chicken might take bout 10 or so mins to cook (or in a very rare case, the chicken "running out" (in other words, the prep has not been sorted for new batches of chicken), the wait for it to cook can make the chicken taste great.

I'm pretty sure Nandos is pre-cooked vacuum packed chicken, reheated on the griddle to order and brushed with the sauce of your choice. KFC chicken pieces are fresh chicken, coated and fried on site. I've not eaten either for at least 12 months, but I have had both.

bottom of the receipt there is a link to a survey ( yourkfc.co.uk )
after completing the survey you get a 5 digit code that you write onto the receipt in the space provided,
then hand it in with your next order and get 20% off (min spend £5)

My local KFC is definitely Halal, which is why I don't bother with any of them. I consider myself mainstream, not some greeny type either. I agree its a horrific way for an animal to die, tasered and then their throat ripped open while they can feel everything.
The irony is that it is not even Halal, as the religious mumbo jumbo has to be said on each instance of slaughter, and not simply blessing the blades and playing a tape recorder on a loop. Non Halal is killed painlessly by gassing.

The evil EU makes it illegal for consumers even to know their meat has been Halal killed by labeling. Unbelievable but true.
Another reason to join and anti EU campaign and help get us out of the evil EU, and get our British Law back - (the 1995 Animal Welfare Act protected animals from ISIS themed beheading before the EU came along).

I also now don't bother with Burkerking. They also recently moved into Halal in Holland and France.

For the anti-halal brigade, might i suggest you never order an indian meal again - 99% of that meat is halal.

As is the chicken at pizza express and dominos.

If its 'disgusting' to eat halal meat at KFC, then the same should apply to the places listed above.

Ohh and New Zealand lamb whilst we at it, a fair proportion of that is halal too as the middle east consumes a vast quantity of it, so easier to make it all halal in one go.

The deal was not anywhere to be seen though, so i had to ask if they where doing this deal.
As far as the 20% discount in Scotland goes, you need to Spend £9.99 before getting the 20% discount.

First of all, you guys are just islamaphobic underneath but have not realised it yet or a just too ignorant to see yourselves for what you really are.

2. Have you seen how animals are treated in factories that are producing non halal meat?
It's much the same once you do your research.
3. Once an animal is dead, it's dead. You eat it or not. If you're so against harm to animals then become a vegetarian. You're argument just backfired on you right there.

We could do it over lots of items/companies and a lot of the things to watch for would be exactly the same. I'm not sure why anyone should care what I eat or drink, they don't even know me, if I drop dead nobody here will know or care. Yet there's plenty of people desperate to advise me on my diet. If I don't like something or wouldn't eat it for whatever reason I never feel the urge to run around announcing it and putting others off.

It's like vegans, always have to sell their way of eating and how great it is - I'm glad you enjoy your food, it would be a bit stupid if you didn't like it considering you choose it. No need to try to convince me to eat the same way, I have no intention of trying to convince you to eat meat.

Besides, it means there is more of the nice stuff left for the rest of us!!

TO ANSWER A FEW QUESTIONS...

What you get:

1 mini fillet burger
1 hot wing
Small box of popcorn chicken
Small fries
Small drink

ITEMS CANNOT BE SWAPPED.

The 20% off:

When you buy something and get a receipt (10p ketchup or find one on the floor/table) there is a survey to complete and you get 20% off your next order of £5 or more, if you cant be bothered to do the survey just write a random 5 digit number on the bottom (they do not check the numbers)

Can someone 'in the know' please answer this:
Both KFC and Nando's are 'Red Tractor' yet both companies offer Halal.
Halal is clearly inhumane.
So going from Red tractor site:

What are the standards behind the Red Tractor mark?

The Red Tractor can only be used on food that has been produced, packed, stored and transported to Red Tractor standards. The standards in all farming sectors (such as chicken, dairy or vegetables) have been agreed by a panel of experts to ensure that the food is safe and that the animals are well treated.

WHY ARE KFC & NANDOS ALLOWED TO PUT 'RED TRACTOR' LOGO ON THEIR MENU/WEBSITE?
Even if one restaurant does Halal surely the whole company should NOT be allowed to use the 'Red Tractor' logo?

link: http://www.redtractor.org.uk/who-we-are/faq#487
https://www.nandos.co.uk/help/section?id=3362

ALSO don't like the sound of this Quote: Nandos"A small proportion of chicken sold in our other restaurants is also Halal and is not currently labelled when served."

and yet its okay the other way round at KFC

"9. Is KFC's halal chicken stunned before slaughter?
Yes, due to our strict animal welfare standards, we insist that all our poultry is stunned before slaughter. Our halal chicken has been accredited by the Halal Food Authority, one of the most widely recognised bodies in the UK and overseas. It allows the use of a technique called 'stun-to-stun' - a pain free process that makes the animal insensible to pain and suffering. A verse is also recited from the Qu'ran at the point of slaughter by an appropriate person and the poultry will not come into contact with non-halal meat at any point in the supply chain.
The HFA accreditation which is clearly signposted in the participating restaurants allows us to offer halal accredited meat whilst remaining committed to the same animal welfare standards as before, which meet or exceed all relevant UK and EU legislation."

Cheers

Most halal meat in the UK is stunned, over 80%. so halal meat in this case meets red tractor standards. To be certified as red tractor, the animal, whether halal or not, has to be stunned.

Thank for clearing that up.

So if its 'Red Tractor' the animal is alway killed in a humane way.
But 20% of chicken isn't killed in a humane way and due to EU label there is no way to tell.
So to be sure always go for 'red tractor'

Halal meat is not inhumane. If anything it's Done in a humane way so that the animal is not suffering for much time.
Please do the research before posting such rubbish.

Stunning is just a modern form companies are using as they are so lazy. If you are not interested in halal, just don't eat from there.
yrreb88 to roadie
6 Feb 16 1 #237
"Done in a humane way so that the animal is not suffering for much time."

I'd rather it be the minimal time, say by a practically instantaneous method such as stunning. The FAWC, the BVA and the RSPCA are against religious slaughter without prior stunning because they don't think it's humane.

Companies are not lazy as such, they just have millions of people to feed and thus about a billion animals to slaughter as quickly and humanely as possible as dictated by legislation.

A society should be measured by how well it treated the most vulnerable in within it. this type of rhetoric only serves to make the rich richer and the majority poorer, open your eyes, most of us will retiring later in life now and why? greedy bankers who you bailed out to the tune of £1 trillion but bash the poor as they are an easy target?

You focus on the poorest when it the richest who are the real scroungers!
red23
6 Feb 16 #236
The poor are so through their own doing, it doesn't stop them buying iphones on £60 contracts they are poor because they cant control themselves. They have needs to spend their money as soon as they get it, similar to morons who go "yes pay day, what can i buy!"

You've just displayed the exact train of thought that is the problem, buying a £6 big mac or £15 bargain bucket is eating like a slob when you can eat far better for the price.
soldierboy001
6 Feb 16 #238
You have no idea and it's easy to blame the bankers.
Now for the real truth, you can either retire at 65 and pay more into the fund from your wages, or you can carry on as before and have to wait for your pension. It's the rule of maths that you can't take out more than you put in, as people are living longer that pot has to be either made to go further with larger contributions or delayed before you receive it. Pensions are not free they are given by subscription. Sensible people who understand this make additional means of providing a pension for themselves and their dependent, scroungers and benefit people don't.
Moonwolf1976
6 Feb 16 1 #240
Because they don't have the means to do they! :-S, SO what will you do if you ever end on benefits yourself and are thus labelled a scrounger? Hundreds of steel workers just lost there jobs, The deference budget is cut year on year meaning soldiers are laid off!, Councils are cutting jobs left right and centre!

its narrow minded of you just to label everyone on benefits a scrounger, for goodness sake dont believe all those benefits shows you see on tv they are set up, and staged to brainwash impressionable people like your self! Lets hope you dont end up on the dole, and get laid off like so many people have, what will you do call 'yourself' a scrounger and a benefit person then? or go without? how will you do that eat out of bins? sleep rough? Beg?, see its all very well slating people poorer than yourself from your ivory towers you m****t!
soldierboy001
6 Feb 16 #241
You are reading something I did not write, people that are laid off work etc. are not included in what I stated and if you are made redundant etc. then whilst you are on benefit those times are counted as if you were at work and you will have those weeks credited to your eligibility for your pension. those that I referred to are the ones that dodge work unfortunately they will still qualify for basic rate pension but because of their inability to earn they will not be able to get additional pension. Serves them right.

The chicken is genuine despite what people believe. It comes pre-separated in bags of frozen liquid so it gets de-frosted and then the giblets (lungs etc) are separated by hand. If you get lungs in your meal it's all down to the laziness or lack of skill from the cook. Just complain to head office. They will always comply and send you free food tokens. I once saw a guy get his entire meal free because he complained that his chips were cold by the time he got home. (UK experience here :smile:)

McDonalds started off with just one outlet.
Must say that Tacobell looks good to me even though they will get lumped in with all the other fast food outlets by the detractors.

how works 20% of receipt?
Darkraiser
11 Feb 16 #262
Just hand in a receipt for something you've previously ordered (or take one from the floor or table) and order 2 "Take Five" meals.

you can as long as you buy 2 so over £5 spend (in England, £9.99 spend in Scotland!). You also still earn loyalty stamps.

Yes they do come from same factory & the Nandos sauce is put on it there as well, but KFC coat in their chicken in restaurant. My OH has also delivered to KFC when he did Prt time for an agency
How do I know my OH worked at thee factory as a production manager @ Brackley & he lasted 6 mths because he questioned how health & safety could be achieved when no one spoke English. A few months back I see on TV the sister branch nr Dudley also named Faccenda were raided for Illegals & they arrested nearly all the workforce
.My OH has also delivered to KFC when he did Prt time jobs for an employment agency & sid that some of the London branches are disgusting.
