Actually if you were to read the reviews they're saying the battery has increased capacity over the M8, the camera is better AND the processor should perform about the same.

i think that the HTC one S (with the added S) would have had a better spec than the ordinary HTC one which is not the case.
I don't agree with the HTC one comment though. It's like samsung galaxy used for s1-s6
with HTC ONE its m7-m9. don't be fooled by the term ONE to mean phone version. Look to m7, m8 or m9 for that.
hope that clears the confusion

Indeed.
So they have a new tactic now to make you buy a new one. Simply stop updating the old one.
Which is why I've switched to Nexus after years of Samsung. Nothing wrong with the Note 3. Still a perfectly capable phone and powerful enough for 99% of the people who have one (including me).
Except, there is little to no chance of an official update to Marshmallow as it is an "old" model. (What .... 2 years? GTF!)
OK. Nexus devices will stop getting updates eventually as well, but they tend to get them longer (and certainly quicker) than the skinned versions you have to wait for from the other manufacturers.
Wouldn't be so bad if Lollipop was a decent version of 'Droid. But it's not. At least not the Samsung 5.0 version anyway.

This a premium-mid ranger if you can believe that BS category even exist. Essentially you pay for the etal body and great screen, and the awesome design. Spec-wise it mounts the SD615 +Ram+Graphics card of most 2015 midrangers like the BQ M5 or the Moto Play. I own the BQ M5 since the summer as my second phone and even though I love it to bits I'd be hard pressed not to swap it for the m8s if offered a free swap. This design has always been my fav-looking since '14.
Makes my G2 look like humble in comparison.

wasn't great for apple either or windows or (obviously!) blackberry - phones have caught up to where the innovation got to. Until something new comes along it'll just be more pixels, more ram, more megapixels, less bezel, same battery life.

The only reason you'd buy this over a SU6 is because you didn't know about the SU6. Or you have Jeremy beadle hands. And if you did, then why the hell would you spend nearly twice the amount. Plus this has a smaller battery. I bet HTC hadn't sold a single unit until now + was £349!! Haha.

Lol! I use android and iOS as daily drivers but to say either of them are running the show is a joke. Android is very poorly optimised and apps are still written with iOS taking priority. Apple are running out of things to do with iOS and the Apple Watch is overpriced. Can't understand the undying love people have for Android. iOS isn't the best at all but at least the iOS community don't feel the need to confess their love for Apple or iOS every 5 mins.

Now I got a redmii note 2 from China for £90 - superb phone takes an sd card, replaceable battery and if it screws up at £90 - I won't complain - spending £500 on a phone that lasts 2 years, 3 years at most is no longer my idea of fun

Good price
Worth bearing in mind that you can get this phone for £147.99 from http://www.mobilephonesdirect.co.uk with a £12.50 per month contract. It won't suit everyone of course, but on the basis that 1,000 minutes / 2GB data contracts don't get much cheaper than £12.50 anyway (nearest comparable as far as I can see is TalkMobile £10 per month (12 months) for 3,000 minutes and 4GB data), and you're going to need to pay something for a SIM to go in this, it seems a good deal to me.
Horses for courses of course but don't rule out something that isn't at the ends of the £lots up front, £small monthly and £free upfront and £lots monthly scale.
