I don't know why reviewers slate this so much?
Just watched a review and everything was deemed poor; even it's looks, which I totally disagree with.

Hi, have you returned the tablet finally? I was offered a collection for it. Then the courier came to pick it today. However, no receipt was left. The guy left me a tracking number when I asked. But I even don't know which courier company they use...

Not related to the deal, but I want to post my impressions any way.
The tablet is incredibly quick and smooth to operate under every load it has been placed under. I have not seen it struggle with anything yet.
On my device, the light bleed on the bottom left is barely noticeable. I needed to sit in a dark room and reboot it to look for it. Even then, it was barely visible against the black background and in a dark room.
It takes AGES to charge fully - This is when using the official charger. The best part of three hours in fact.
It is light, but not as light as I had expected.
The camera is actually disappointing. I was expecting the Nexus 5 sensor, but it is clearly not as good.
Overall - it is an excellent tablet any way. Very glad to have got it.

Hi rawson, just check the original email from Argos, which basically says what you have stated. Thanks a lot!

If you ordered it online you have 14 days to return it for a full refund as long as you've not abused it. Just send them a mail stating that you wish to cancel the sale under the regulations. They also do not have the right to direct you to the manufacturer for any faults, your contract is with them, not the manufacturer.

I received mine today, but it's going back. There is some light bleed from the bottom left of the screen. Took hours to update the os before I noticed too. Think I'll spend a little more and go for the s2, at least that has the sd card option too.

I have tried to return it at an Argos store but they refused to take it back and said I need to contact "Nexus" if there is a quality issue. Could they actually refuse the return given the purchase falls into the distance selling category?

It took an absolute age to get to Marshmallow, having to go through practically every different update from 5.0 to 6.X. It if has any lightbleed, it is not noticeable (I know what it looks like).
Inspecting it *very* closely and only on the boot sequence, I can see some evidence of light bleed on the bottom left edge. It is so minimal that I could not notice without actively searching. In anything other than a black background in a dark room, I cannot see it.
Oh, and the device is incredibly quick to do all day to day tasks.
BTW - Argos have now got two listings for this item - one which is £259 and "out of stock" and the exact same item for £459 and it is in stock.

Been trying to I get them to price match for the last few days. Just put in another request as its saying available to send within 2 days so hopefully the price match goes through for that 2 year warranty.
Is there any problems with yours? Light bleed etc?

I am sticking with what I have, as they are both fine with no light bleed or issues, so hoping it stays like that.

So JL are getting back to me tomorrow now. I'll not hold my breath, but if I get the price match based on the Argos deal, I'll post back - I doubt that the retailer would want to be seen to treat customers differently.

This is the 4G model though, not the WiFi only version. It's a little moot, because it is OOS.

Like mannp said, I think it's just a lottery. I submitted a few price match requests the last time this offer was on and was rejected each time as they claimed Argos was out of stock. If they didn't take so long to reply that wouldn't have been the case!
Think I just got lucky this time - don't think there are any special pearls of wisdom I can offer I'm afraid!

They refused me after 5 days waiting for a reply and said Argos don't have any high street presence, then Argos don't sell the LTE, then its out of stock. Think its a lottery at JL, as their CS is going downhill after 20 years of being excellent.

i brought this off the last deal that was posted last week. its since been returned to argos. some minor splutter on performance, but the main issue was the 25% - 30% loss in battery life for the LTE function just draining power for no reason and no way to turn it off.
Also movies had very severe boarders and the actual size shown was on par with a 7' tablet. i understand the aspect ratio but didnt think it would be sooo severe. instead i ordered the Lenovo tab 2 a1-70, its lower res screen (but still hd) and its not upto what the Nexus 9 is for gpu power, but for movies, and media consumption its above the Nexus 9 imo. Oh its also only £139 atm on amazon and tesco direct. no brainer for me.

Just thought people might like to know - I just tried to order this. It is 'in stock' and available for delivery where I stay. Upon getting to the checkout I was presented with a message which basically says "Aw man! Sorry, you just missed out, why not look at all our OTHER tablets?". Then it goes back into stock, and the same process repeats.
I have asked Argos customer service to be told "Oh maybe they have limited stock, so they won't let you buy it".
I believe the appropriate question is "dafuq??"

Yes definitely was the 16gb version as I picked up one myself, was tempted to maybe sell it and buy this for extra storage and 4G but probably not worth the extra £110 pound as I only use it for Web browsing and tether it off my phone in work when I need to.

I agree they are different machines, but some things you mention are very much up to personal preference, I definitely prefer the nexus 9 screen. (the ones not suffering from light bleed that is).
I also agree with you with respect to build quality.
Android vs ios I really think are far more alike today then either would like to admit. I personally prefer android because it is more "open", you can install custom roms, it can connect easily with pretty much anything else while in my experience ipad's don't like anything not Apple or Apple approved. On the other hand.
All in all it is a personal preference and in the end of the day it is your money, no one is stopping you paying for whatever you want, however much you are prepared to.

We have the non lte version and I'm really pleased with it is much better than our iPad Air 2 that cost twice as much. They seem to be getting a bit thin on the ground now, we recently went to PC World to buy another and they didn't have any so we asked what is similar and they said the Nexus 9 is much better than any of these try and get one on eBay.

I have the nexus and my daughter the air 2.
Its defo not better than the air 2-just different. The good old ios v android debate....
The air has a better screen and build quality, and the nexus the open-ness of android and half the price. Both 16gb and no sd slot.
All things equal, id choose the ipad- however the nexus's price is the winner (imho!).

Stick a full marshmallow image on it [you can do the 4 or 5 updates OTA] from scratch
