I have a nearly 20 years old (!!) Kenwood toaster that has a long slot and all the features this one has - in the 1990s the most well-known one was the Tefal Thick N Thin toaster. Weird how this type is so hard to find nowadays!
My Kenwood still works but is starting to look its age. I'll likely give it to a charity shop.
My dream toaster would do two Scottish Plain slices simultaneously (Plain bread slices are much longer than Warburton's/pan bread). Don't think this one will either, but at least I won't have to cut the slices in half!
Edit: Picked it up. Seems more robust than the plasticky Kenwood it's replacing though the digital display is a reminder to ensure I switch it off at the socket (silly me forgets with the other one). More or less the same size cavity as the long slot toaster it's replacing, so it will do two Warburton's slices with ease, or 1.5 Scottish Plain slices! The older toaster is 1150W rating so hopefully it won't be a noticeable time difference!

I bought this last week at £22 after spotting it and thinking it was pretty uncommon to get a good looking but cheap long format toaster - we have a small kitchen and its a bit more work-top friendly to have it tucked flush against the back along the wall than the boxier 2-4 slot ones.
So far so good, looks nice and works, toasts well enough. Can't say much else after a week of ownership. The finish and plastics/trim etc are all nice and no cheap knobbly edges etc. Only gripe is that with the settings being digital, it doesn't remember them when you turn it off at the wall, so you have to re-do them every time.

I've posted links to tons of positive reviews so I'm not sure what the issue is with this one reviewer. A review below "Mrs Shopping" says "wide enough for thick slices and tea cakes and long enough for all types of bread. Looks great and works very well a great purchase". Haven't seen any complaints about its two-slice description.
Sonic Direct has a review that says "A bit big for two slices, but will prove useful for different kinds of bread." And also the review in my first post that implies you can fit in all sorts "Amazing toaster, an extra long and wide slot means i can toast baguettes and ciabatta as well as two slices of toast side by side." so I'm a bit confused by that!
Unless Mrs Shopping is trying to toast two Plain Bread slices (which are much longer than your regular Warburton's), bearing in mind I haven't tried this toaster yet? Just a guess.
