There is seldom more than £5 on my PAYG account! That lasts me a few months. Social media - not interested in it. and dont use my phone for banking. My main use is as a sat nav to save having to carry a tomtom and a phone.

Ah that warms my heart. A perfectly reasonable answer to demonstrate that we all use our phones in different ways and there is NO one fix fits all solution. :-)

Really surprised this doesn't support OTG. I didn't even know any phone was made without the ability to use the usb.
Apart from the OTG I'm happy with the features but if I'd known before buying, I wouldn't have ordered one.

can you explain what is so good about OTG? what would I use it for?
I'm just a standard phone user, and having just ordered this phone, wondering what I'm missing out on. thanks for your help.

This phone is mint, got mine yesterday
The build is quality
Just waiting for the case to come from China, shame it's so new (only been launched about 4 weeks ago), but more accessories to follow no doubt
Well please for the money, was holding out for a dual sim Moto X Play (from amazon france etc), but for £80 less, this is a great alternative
The fingerprint scanner is neat and works well.
Screen quality is great
Love it

They enabled support for this on the 3rd gen version and the moto x play so I would think so.
Sitting here waiting for delivery, get a move on Amazon!

does anyone know where i can get a reasonably priced phone with at least 32gb of memory. the only ones that seem to be avail are the expensive phones like iphone or samsung. adding a memory card is no use as i have a lot of apps and alot of them cannot be saved to the card

If you get a moto g 3rd gen, once it gets marshmallow which is any day now, then you'll be able to use an sd card just like on board storage. Or the moto x play which has already got marshmallow

The s5 might be better, but you've linked to a single review and its conclusion is "ok, with a couple of compromises because of the great pricing" rather than bad. All the other reviews I've seen are positive.
The M8 is the better device however the Honor has a larger screen and dual SIM if that is important.
Love my M8 and despite the fact I keep thinking about a new phone, there isn't anything worth the money out there! Would like the M9 but not paying a small fortune for minor improvements.

Can't help feeling that you are just paying for a posh Smart Ultra 6. Either buy the su6 or spend £200+ with a faster processor..

Yep agree, but with dual sim (essential for me) and metal body I think it's worth the extra, and worth it over a Chinese import with little support either in software terms or refund/replacement if anything goes wrong
Thanks OP, ordered

Just a read a review - no Gorilla Glass!!! In this day and age.
Seems pretty good otherwise but that would seriously put me off.

Is this by Amazon or by the seller? Reason I ask if the phone plays up etc then Amazon point you to the manufacturer and the manufacturer points you back to Amazon.

So what happens when you lose your phone or it's stolen? You have to deal with £1000 phone bill, your social media being hit, all your online accounts being hacked.
Currently it is but as 3Gb phones become standard and starting to see 4Gb phones think it is only a matter of time before they start to struggle on 2Gb. Would be straight on this if it were 3Gb but will hold on till they become available in the UK. Still, Saving £40 on a good phone is definitely hot from me

It's not really a faff if all you need to do is press the power button or put your finger on the reader. If this is anything like the 6P, it wakes from sleep as soon as it reads your fingerprint. I mentioned passcodes/patterns if you want some level of security on your phone other than fingerprint, but if you don't want any security on there, it'll wake as soon as you press the power button
SusieM
22 Feb 16#22
Thanks Rob but that sounds a bit of a faff to have to do each time - my moto g wakes up as soon as I open the flip case without haveing to use any passcodes or pattern.
SusieM
22 Feb 16#15
OK, possibly stupid question, but if one keeps this phone in a flip case which presumably would cover the fingerprint reader, how do you unlock/wake the phone? Can you double tap the screen to wake it up? I've never felt the need to lock my phone cos no one else in the house uses it.

Finger print reader is on the back and cases have the hole cut out for the finger print reader like the camera hole. I have a honor 7 and the cases I have bought have the hole cut out
Rob_1304 to SusieM
22 Feb 16#21
A case designed for this phone would have a cutout for the fingerprint reader. You can always wake with the power button though, and then use a passcode/pattern instead of the fingerprint reader.
