Cheapest seen and 4/5 star ratings seems a good buy.
The AXSO14BTU soundbar from Hitachi has a 30W RMS power output and 120W peak power that will help bolster the sound given out by your TV. The line also features Bluetooth, allowing you to connect any Bluetooth compatible device and use the sounbar as a regular speaker

If you mean by Argos reviews, I'm not necessarily sure that that's something I'd consider reliable.

Just collected and installed it. Not bad soumd, sort of flat to bass. Not much treble. Connected via my Poundland optical lead to TV. No indication as to what the volume level is, you just have to turn up or down. Small flat remote control about credit card size. The red/green power light is bright and right in the middle/front so this could be a distraction. All in all, not bad for £40. Adds a bit of depth if you have tinny sounding TV. Havent tried the bluetooth yet.

30w? Pfffft, peak power pretty much means nothing.

Buy it, connect it, plug it in, then listen to some TV through it.
Then either keep it or return it depending on whether you like the sound for the money paid - simples!

And why would you say that and what benefit would anyone have by leaving positive reviews

4/5 are unintelligible I find.

Given the assumption that they actually have the item and you don't I'm suspecting, short of buying it and trying it out, they are your best bet at the moment. You are looking at buying a soundbar for #40, I'm suspecting your expectations aren't/shouldn't necessarily be of an audiophile nature.

I think what he means is that the general consensus is that people who leave reviews on Argos are not of the highest calibre.
Perhaps if the unit simply works and produces sound then that warrants a positive review. Regardless of the sound quality.
This is just a guess as to what schnide meant in his original comment.

I bought the maxell at 40w and I wouldn't want anything weaker.

Only need it for my spare room, got proper 5.1 in my living room and Sony soundbar in my bedroom which is great but it was my first sound bar so wasn't expecting it to be good.

Good value if you have stock local. Has optical connection which is required on new SkyHD boxes.

If you missed the recent Maxell bluetooth split thread or the Goodmans 150w bluetooth with
subwoofer bars, this is a brilliant deal price... hurry, they will be gone soon at this price!
