I had two of these and they both were DOA. Gave up in the end. Got a refund and went with the Samsung thumbnail sized ones instead.

they are 7dayshop own brand basically - so unless 2nd hand on ebay likely to be direct from them or via amazon etc

I had the same experience last month with 7dayshop. They refunded me quickly after I returned the item. Dodgy recent batch? I have 1 other I bought over a year ago, and it has been brilliant and pretty fast (varies, but always above 10mb/s) compared to 4mb/s USB 2 ones. Never had any compatibility problems with Grixx sticks, unlike MyMemory red USB3 pen drives.

Got one months back... Not working anymore. Survived a few formats and that was it.

In the market for several 128Gb drives.

Speeds etc., reliability seems suspect on the Grixx model?

I've got both and found Sandisk to be slower in write speed. Both very good for price.

Not had mine long. Extremely fast compared to the kingston 64gb usb3 I own, which has a write speed so slow as to be unusable, this thing writes at around 110 MB/s.
I did buy it as a recorder for my sony bravia, but despite passing all the tests it kept corrupting so I went back to a hard drive.

Not aware of 7DS having any exclusive ownership interest in the company / brand Grixx Europe B.V. based in NL.

Bought two, returned two. One DOA, the other corrupted data.

Bought two over a year ago. Been using both daily and haven't had any problems with them.

Given there isn't a great deal in the price, I'd go for the argos one unless you really need speed. My 32gb (same brand as the argos one) does 15mb/s which is okay....

Mine were both from 7Day Shop...one was a replacement for the other and both had same issue, so was given full refund

Nah, but with "Grixx Europe B.V." being quoted as the manufacturer/brand on the rear of the product's retail packaging, it kinda negates the suggestion of it being a random company. I bought my Grixx 128GB drive via webshop of Aria Computers, Manchester. Not aware of Aria having any exclusive ownership interest in the company / brand Grixx Europe B.V. nor 7DS.

maybe its still exclusive as they are discontinued from aria
anyway ok maybe you are right :wink: but still... they have the scent of a random rebrander
the failure rate seems quite rubbish as well which makes it all a moot point

I have that exact one, as said before it is not the quickest for a USB3.0 but it has performed perfectly in 6 months of hard work, many formats, and even lasted a trip through a wash when left in a pocket. Worth the Money.

Yes, this thread and I think one other recent thread mentioned failures, yet can't recall earlier mention and this kit has been around a couple of years. Possibly questionable recent batch, but Grixx still appears to have faith in its products by offering 5 years warranty, but I may reconsider for future purchases for similar requirement.

Well my 2 months old one has just failed after little use. No longer recognized by any device. Will return. It maybe fast, but is unreliable. I cannot recommend this brand.
