I found this in Poundland Salisbury where there is a shelf of about 40 of these.
The box contains a:
- Power Jolt Mini (10 watts - 5 volts@ 2.1amps) that fits in a car cigarette lighter
- USB to micro-USB cable that's 3'
- AUX cable (3.5mm) that's 3'
- Apple certified (Made for i-etc) micro-USB to Apple Dock Connector (old style)
I thought that it was a lot of kit for a £1. I've paid a £1 for a mediocre AUX cable in Poundland before. Hope it helps a few of you.

At the risk of sounding intentionality churlish, I think that would be classified as interference!

These are in Poundland but they are good quality and worth far more than a quid.
Poundland doesn't always mean cheap rubbish, as my Belkin cables, adaptors etc that i've got from Poundland prove.

These are not worth a pound! I had one it was so electrically noisy that it blocked DAB radio from functioning correctly! I threw mine in the bin once I worked out why I had such poor radio reception...

It might have been a rogue one. I used mine in the car earlier (where I have a built-in DAB radio) and couldn't detect any interference.

Are you sure your one was genuine and the exact same model as this? There are a huge number of fakes of an earlier two-port Griffin charger on eBay, Amazon etc.

The problem with these is that they charge at such a low rate that if your actually using it whilst charging the battery will go down faster than what it charges. Id go for a rapid charge around 10-15 quid. Get wat u pay for

Poundland usually has Griffin stuff. Not seen this though. I'll look later, if it has them I will add heat. I bet it doesn't have any. I find when there is something really good, it goes very damn quick. You need to be a regular in there, constantly looking.
I got a red Q-DOS i-phone5 leather case, thinking it had to be worth at least a fiver, there were about half a dozen in total, but once the stash had gone, it was gone. Never seen any since. Their buyers must be really on the ball. Wish I'd got the lot now, when I found out the retail price! http://www.qdossound.com/cases/leather-folio?id=287
Not to say your Poundland might still have some, or perhaps they were just at my store? If you have a iPhone 5 5s it's worth a look, as that is some saving over retail.

Can this be used to charge an Iphone 5 in conjunction with a genuine lightening cable with it being 2.1a?
The Griffin iphone 4 cable I had, casing fell apart. Didn't stop working (although only a matter of time I suspect) but alas was some what dangerous to use due to sharp metal edges so chucked it away in the end.

Avoid cheap poundland cables and chargers if you want to save your phones charging ports and batteries. My recommendation is buy Anker/Aukey kind of chargers and cables on Amazon. They are bit more expensive but worth every peny.

Belkin used to be very good, but over the years they've been less and less so. They are more a kin to the type of premium cables suppliers, Yes their kit works but not well enough over others to be worth the premium.
That said at this price point its probably a lot better than the unbranded generic stuff in store..

I've used Poundland Lightning cables with both my iPads and never had a problem. I had one come apart after extended use, but the rest have been fine.

I wasn't getting interference (it's digital) what happened with mine was poor signal in general with regular dropouts. for example I could scan for stations with it inserted and would only get a few really strong ones. if I removed it I would get like 20 stations.
