It is bizarre but this game will not seem to drop off in price much even though it was released a long time ago. Heat from me.

Why should it? Despite being launched at the end of 2013 it was the second highest selling game last month. Games only get reduced because they're rubbish, and beyond the initial novelty phase of being a new game, they have to be reduced to sell any copies. For example The Order, any Assassin's Creed game etc. GTA is popular enough, mainly due to GTA Online, that they don't need to reduce the price, as they know people will pay £35 for it still.
BTW, the PS4 version is £32 on Amazon at the moment, in case this deal goes out of stock.

Was so frustrating when I decided to buy it - spent ages looking and the cheapest I could find was £34 new, the £25 preowned ones were snatched up almost instantly. After a couple of days I remembered Flubit and tried on there, luckily I got offered one for £27.

It's the same with Diablo 3 on the PS4 and X1. It rarely drops below £30.

Its because it still sells very well. Not sure why though as its the worst GTA i've played in a long while. Story is just nonsense and alot of forced political BS from the Houser brothers and online is the worst multiplayer i've ever played with its very long loading and crap match making and not many fun activities to actually do such as no home invasion activities. Most overrated game ever and i actually liked the previous GTA games.

I have owned this and then went on to sell it twice now. Currently have a copy sitting but don't really play it. It's one of those games you just get an itch for every now and then. I have always assumed it's the online content that keeps the price up? Valentine's Day dlc incoming and the yacht stuff before it?

Spot on.
Its one of the best supported online games with lots of free content, R* have said they can keep releasing content indefinitely for it if they like and I hope they do.

I was very surprised when I looked up the price - I was expecting to pay about £20. That being said, I've spent so many hours on this game already that I know it was well worth the price and would have been happy even paying full price if I knew how much fun it would be.
I pretty much went in with no expectation - having not played GTA since GTA3 and not really been into the whole online/multiplayer thing. I just bought a few games (CoD, Battlefront, FIFA, GTA) to try out and see what I preferred and out of all of them I've spent the majority of my time on GTA - turned out to be nothing like what I expected.

This price may not seem to be much of a deal to those who haven't spent a lot of time over the last few months looking for it to hit £30 or less. The publisher must be responsible, the lack of a general price drop after this time for a regular edition of a game that was not a limited print is surely without precedent for current gen consoles.

Heat as not cheaper elsewhere to my knowledge (except eBay). But can't help feeling that this is a crazy price for a (technically) last gen game which has been out for years now. It's enduring popularity dictates that price, I guess. £30-35 is my bite price for a new release PS4/XO game (though I am shamelessly tight and surf HUKD for fun!)
