Because some people genuinely couldn't care less if it's new or used as long as the game works, so any discount at all should get some heat.

My point wasn't that it's new or used, by point is that you're only getting £3 off for a used game! Maybe it's just me but that isn't much of a discount at all. A used game should be at least £10 cheaper than it's new counterpart.
So my argument is, how is £3 off a used copy worthy of being considered a Hot offer?

Isn't the Smyths version £32.98 after shipping? At least that's what your pricespy link states.

Because people think it's a good deal, as evidenced by the hot votes it has received.
Maybe - just maybe - not everyone agrees with your way of thinking, and appreciates being able to knock a few quid off the cost of a (fairly pricey) game like this one.

Honestly, I think the people voting it hot do not actually realise it is for a used game. Many people probably see it from the main page, see that it's GTA V for £26 and upvote without really looking at the full offer.

Interesting theory. I would point out that the title clearly has the word 'used' in it, and the fact that it's a used copy is mentioned in the very first sentence of the description, which also shows on the main page.
I think most HUKD users are intelligent enough to be able to pick up on these indicators, and know what they're voting for.

Look, I'm not trying to be a jacka** or anything, I just don't think it's a hot deal and I think others may be thinking so because they don't realise that you can buy it for £30 new. So ultimately I was messaging to let you lot know that it is available for £30 brand new.

Wish Rockstar would move on from this game now as its incredibly stale but they are too busy milking people for shark cards.

I'm sure they are all intelligent enough to pick up on the indicators, if they actually see them. Which was my point. Some may not. And lets me honest, the "used" isn't exactly the standout statement of the title, it can very easily be missed by those quickly skimming through the blogs.

Still worth £30 of anyone's money! The new content that keeps being added adds to an already massive game

I disagree. Overrated game.

But again, some people don't care if it's used, especially if there is no included DLC (major ones anyway) or online pass. Even if it's 50p cheaper for a used copy, they'll still go for used, so £3 is fine and is considered hot. Don't know why it's difficult to get your head around. If your definition of a good used deal is £10 cheaper, I suspect there are very few used deals you're going to be voting hot on anyway.

I agree with Zee. I wouldn't ever pay £26 for a used game. Cold.

It's rather academic now, given that the deal has been expired for more than a day, isn't it?

I would really have to question your exact definition of a "deal" if you think getting 50p off a used item is a bargain. You must really get ripped off all the time, you look like the kind of person who would pay full price for a used car. So it's not me that has any issues getting my head around anything, I believe it's you who cannot seem to fathom the difference in valuation of a new and used item, irrespective of whether one cares or not.

As I said earlier: maybe - just maybe - not everyone agrees with your way of thinking. That's ok. We're allowed to have different opinions on things. It only becomes a problem once somebody decides to overbearingly insist that their way of thinking is the only correct one.

Lol the used car analogy is so stupid that I don't know where to begin. Look, unless if you're the collector type, you're buying a game for the digital content on the disc, which will be the same whether you got the disc used or new. People don't generally buy games to longingly stare at the brand new cases.

Not really, I don't think the used game debate is over because this deal has ended...
