30% cheaper than usual prices...you have no choice on contents and they are wonky?? works out 70p a kilo...when lidl have grade A...spuds/parsnips/swedes at 39p a kilo and I wonde what asda give the farmer? 10p a kilo?

Highly unlikely. There are such things as payment terms, which may mean that the retailer has sold these many times over before they have to pay a penny.

Well I pushed my trolley all around the store this morning and there weren't any, or a place for any. I can't imagine them stocking something and not having it on display unless it's a fiddle where they actually have just one or two if people ask.

Point of the wonky boxes is to reduce waste. Oh, the irony when people buy more than they need just because it's cheap only to end up throwing it away.

one of my cats was never scared by cucumbers. He used drag it off to eat it.
We were scratching our heads the first time he did this without us noticing because we couldn't figure out why the cucumber was full of holes. :smiley:
