Long weekend in Rome? Check out this 3 night trip to Rome for 2 adults for a bargain price of £119.85pp. This includes a great 4* hotel near the Vatican which is ideally located for public transport and breakfast too. If you wanted cheaper there are lots of B&B options with shared bathrooms. The bus stops outside the hotel so getting to and from the airport is cheap and easy. The hotel has great reviews and is a good base for exploring Rome. Breakfast is included but like most in Rome is likely to be continental style but at this price it's a bonus to get it included! If you didn't want a weekend deal the flights are marginally cheaper in the week.

Breakdown

Flights for 2 £80.76 book @ Ryanair

3 nights at the Pinewood Hotel book @ Venere using code AFFQ1F223 (on Voucher section of Hukd) £158.91

Price per person £119.85/£239.70

Departing airport - London Stanstead.
- topss (added into title now, I've amended post).

Don't forget city tax @ 6 Euro pppn

People moaning (and liking a post) about this deal not including from Stanstead in the header..

You can only fit a certain amount of characters in the field provided, which detail would you prefer the op to leave out, dates or where to?

I dare say if airport location could have been squeezed in someone would have moaned flight times should have been in the heading too.
topss to ristac
29 Feb 16 #20
Is that an app limit? Because I have seen some deal titles that were trying to challenge the Oxford dictionary for content.

Plus there really should be a mention of the departing airport, at least in the description.

Think you'll find that Stansted is now included in header so it couldn't have been that great an issue at time of posting.

No problem. You have to understand sometimes it's difficult to work out which bits to include in the title. Look what happened on this post here and that's without mentioning dates! I should have also said where the deal is eg Venere/Ryanair as per the HUKD guidelines but I can't fit that into the title!

Worth noting that the Stansted Express train is £44 return for 2 people from Liverpool Street in London. Which is costly, relative to the price of the holiday, in case money is an absolute factor and you didn't want to drive.

Not a negative, but worth bearing in mind.

Rome is a beautiful place, however we visited earlier this month and never have I been so scared. There was a news reporting on this last week. Rome is currently full of refugees and it is a massive issue, they are sleeping on the streets every night a lot of them have turned to prostitution but a lot of them have turned to crime. In my 5 days in Rome on two occasions a homeless person tried to take my bag, they are so desperate they will do anything to get food and drink. At night there are thousands of them living in door ways under cardboard boxes.

Was getting surrounded by 20 odd Roman 'street children' and getting your pockets emptied the second you walked out of Termini(the main station) a quarter of a century ago so can just imagine how much things have 'improved' since then

Then again the Vatican was built on plundered riches and child abuse so what do you expect from that manor?

Just spent a few days in Rome, fantastic place and didn't have any trouble from rough sleepers. Would point out that does cost a lot to get from Airport to centre of Rome - 48 Euro's each way for a taxi and public transport not much cheaper.
1on4 to HB-CTB
29 Feb 16 1 #52
Return bus fair (which can be purchased on the plane!) is €6. Taxis rely on ill informed tourists.

Incidentally, we didn't have any problems with Rough sleepers or immigrants she we went at the beginning of January either.
konkywonky to HB-CTB

It's only around €6 each way on the bus, and by taxi it used to be a fixed fee of €30 each way, sounds like you were had.

Great city although I would advise to stay nearer the centre. Rome is a very compact city and you can pretty much cover all the tourist attractions on foot, can highly recomend Residenza Zanardelli whihc is just off Piazza Navonna and very reasonably priced for a prime location.
rachelandgromit to konkywonky

£1213 for 3 nights

There are plenty of options for hotels with shared bathrooms closer in the centre but for a 4* hotel not at this price and as good reviews.

We used a company called terravision for our transfers booked in advance I believe they cost €8 return each
rachelandgromit
29 Feb 16 #58
The location of the hotel is noted as "Strategically located only 5 minutes walking distance away from the Cornelia subway station and bus terminal".

So, you could get a shuttle into the Termini with say Terravision and from there its literally a few minutes on the metro to Cornelia at a cost of less than £1. Easy!

Depends on dates I guess, we only paid around €65 a night, that's some mark up!

Thanks OP - booked earlier this evening. I certainly appreciate the deal.

I cannot believe the amount of crap generated from this post. The OP has kindly provided this deal and people are nit picking over silly things. The details of the deal were clearly posted in the deal post and the screenshots. I personally feel that if people don't have the mental capacity to read two posts and digest the information provided, they really shouldn't be allowed to have a passport for not only their own safety, but the safety of others.

I saw the deal minutes after it was posted and despite the departing airport not being listed in the title, I managed to get all the information from the deal post and the screenshots. It's not rocket science to read all the information supplied and make an informed decision. The deal title is there to give you a brief overview of what the deal is, not to fit the whole description in. "3 Nights in Rome including 4* Hotel and Flights - 22-25 April" would have been sufficient, as the description and screenshots contain all the info required, but the OP went above and beyond and supplied extra info.

Thanks - I'm really looking forward to it. Italy has been on my bucket list for a while now, so this is the perfect opportunity to tick it off.

Take peoples point about getting a train being cheaper, but not if you have 2 teenage kids in tow. Rome has 2 airports, both have fixed taxi fares, 32 Euros for the closer one, Ciampino and 48 Euros for the other, Fiumicino. Train fares also more expensive for Fiumicino at 11 Euros one way each. So taxis not just for the tourist fodder!

"You are exactly what's wrong with society nowadays(zero patience and doesn't know when to quit whining like a 4 year old) In other words let all and sundry insult you but don't respond to any of their comments.I still can't work out your zero patience statement unless you think if you stare patiently at the OP it will miraculously bring up the departure airport.
