Went in Morrisons at the weekend hoping for a deal on whole salmon, but it was expensive.
Had this deal a few times before,so will get the missus to pick one up on her way back from work.

Saw this today but decided not to buy as a) you have to clean the whole fish yourself and b) they didn't look fresh. May be because the bag they use it so loose that it smudges all over. Morrisons should use the tightly sealed ones that Asda uses

If you ask they can make fillet for you, for the price of whole salmon.

no doubt Asda fish packing is best with heat sealed bag no other match it.

Anyone know where I can buy tins to tin this?
I don't like fresh salmon, but enjoy the tinned stuff.

The best tinned salmon is Sainsburys own branded tinned salmon. It looks and tastes great.

ALL Morrisons stores are meant to fillet fish if you want it filleted.
On the one and only time I was told they couldn't fillet it,I emailed CS....they told me it was policy to provide fish however customer wished...I was sent a £10 voucher to use in store as an apology.

Oh and our local Asda store has THE most useless fish counter ever.
Takes an age to get anyone to serve you....if they even have any fish....and they will never fillet a fish for you.

I agree and mackerel is a rip off at £1.50 for a tiny 200g fish. Never fresh either.

No way. No supermarket 'fresh' fish is sushi grade. If you want sushi grade you have to go to billingsgate market

Not store specific, I bought one on Monday from Bredbury store, morrisons do these deals quite frequently all over, maybe Bristol are an exception, do you have any others in the area you could call?

It's farmed salmon but cheap for what it is. No it won't be as good as wild salmon but it isn't £20 per kilo is it. Of course you can use it for fresh sushi... if your knife/skills are up to it.
Have some heat.

From corporate website "All fish in store is 100% sustainable and never previously frozen. Morrisons is the only retailer to label each fish on the fresh fish counter with full traceability detail; including scientific name, catch method and area where the fish was caught. The labelling scheme is also supported by the Marine Conservation Society (MCS)."

its not the frozen remark that's the problem, although that itself is a lie, you can tell just by looking at the eyes on some of the fish with the heads left on, and then they sell fish that's being out of season.
its the freshness that's the issue, and supermarket fish can be in and out of cold store and on the iced tables for a couple of cycles, before you even buy it, transport it home not under ice.

Morrisons always tell me that their fish is fresh never frozen. But freezing is a preservation process so frozen is fresher. Frozen sardines when cooked taste far nicer and fresher than Morrison's "fresh " sardines ! Some people don't understand that !
