I have saved over £700.00 by not having Sky anymore so cold from me. I could have bought the 'free' tv 3 times over with what is in my pocket and not theirs. Everything that sky show is just repeat after repeat. Sky programmes eventually come on freeview anyway or just buy the series box sets and watch it when you want. They are cheap enough. Please don't tell me they are still showing Star Trek deep Space Nine and the Next Generation. Save yourself some money and ditch them and put the money towards an extra holiday. Not giving them my hard earned has paid for my new 50" smart tv, 2 x LG Bluray players and 2 x Youview boxes. Remember some of your hard earned goes to those guys who try and kick a ball in the back of a net every Saturday, and usually fail.

Shame this is limited to first time multi room subscribers. I was logged into my sky today pricing up how much a new multi room sub with recording box would cost for a conservatory when its built and was surprised the cost would only be £60 installation charge and the recording box was free. Being a long term customer with an existing multiroom sub had expected this to be more like £200.

Forget what the sales terms say. If you are in a rolling contract give your cancellation (it doesn't go as far) and demand a 2TB box - you can get one. You need an advisor who needs to keep someone.

Sky makes it's money by tying you in to a new 12 month contract. You agree to continue paying your existing (first box + sub) fees, plus the additional £11.25pm. You get a new bottom-of-th-range 32" TV plus a ~£30 to build HD box.£1000 for another year's service. They retain their customers for a negligible cost.

ALL sky content is output at 1080i. The box isn't capable of outputting 1080p and Sky don't have the infrstructure to stream it over the air. Q is only good if you have 30mb broadband and for the most will only offer 1080p (at the minute)

I am already 9 months through a 60% off deal. Signing up to this would tie me in to 9 months at full price. In my experience Anyway. Sky rarely provides good deals at the time of threatening to cancel. Depends what you are calling threatening to cancel. If you speak on chat saying I am thinking of cancelling then that is useless. Say listen I want to cancel - make them put the notice on your account. Wait or reconnect to Stay with Sky (search it) chat and start telling them what YOU want - don't let them dictate.

vig1lante
19 Feb 16#69
To stream 4K (which this box is mainly for, other than it's new touted features) you need around 20mb free (constantly) bandwidth on your broadband so if your using mobiles or other connected devices in your house whilst trying to stream you need to take this into account.

Cracking deal for Multiroom.
Great retention deals can be had. I cancelled in Oct last year. Had an email in my final week of notice period offering me 50% off. So i spoke to them regarding it, stated that the fact they offered me a deal shows that they are flexible with pricing. Explained that i do not want any new equipment, its just access to the service which doesnt cost them anything in itself. 2 advisers wouldn't budge, but eventually i got through to one who buckled and gave me 70% off IIRC.
All Sky channels (incl Movies & Sport)
3 x multi room subs
Sky Go extra
Sky Broadband unltd (threw in an extra WiFi extender as we have a large house)
Sky Talk anytime
and i pay £51 a month. I think that around 70% off. So great deals can be had if you get the right person on chat. Just alternate your queries between online chat and over the phone.

SkyQ doesn't stream anything, all the content apart from the on demand comes through the dish.
The multi room boxes (SkyQ mini) uses the wifi signal (not broadband speed) to send the signals to the box from your main SkyQ box,
If the wifi signal is weak the boxes have inbuilt power line adaptors and will send it this way instead.
If you had a 1mb connection SkyQ would run perfectly but your on demand would be slow
All 4K channels will be through the satellite when they launch in the summer

Can you replace the free standard Sky box with the Sky+ box that records yourself or would you need to pay extra for it to work as a recorder?
I ask because I am out of contract so when negotiating a new deal with 50+ percent off plus an account credit if I can also get them to upgrade the old Sky+ box for a newer one with a larger HDD I would then have a second spare Sky+ box that could be used in the second room. I've always been offered Multiroom subscription discount eg £2.75/month for 9 months so the thought of paying £11.25/month doesn't appeal to me even for a 'free' TV

Well it's a bargain at £11.25 i spend that on a few beers most nights

TV arrived today, before installation. You can claim by logging into your Sky account and going to "Claim my rewards" it should show up as FREE LG TV and simply click the button, two days later it arrives.

Having real trouble with this, wanting to get the deal but when i go to order comes up with the error "We are currently unable to offer you an upgrade to Sky Multiscreen
This might be because you have an outstanding Home Move order that is currently being processed. Please contact our dedicated Home Move team on 03332 008 000 for more information."
I dont have an outstanding Home Move order and i have rung CS and they cant see any problem as to why i cant get the offer. I've tried chatting to the online chat but the one adviser i managed to get through to ended up ignoring me and i haven't been able to get on since. Funnily enough when i selected i wanted sky q i got straight through to an adviser but he couldn't help me.
Any advice?

Same here. I've now spoken with three different people from the Online Sales team who have all confirmed that I should get the TV but it'll have to be 'manually added' by the Offers team if it doesn't get automatically added in a few days. Two of the three people I spoke with, said they'll "keep an eye" on my account and will have it added manually if it doesn't get added by itself in a few days.
The install happened yesterday. I've been given a date of 10th March when those keeping an eye on my account will get in touch with me.
It's not looking very hopeful.

Indeed. Does it show in the Claim Rewards section when you log in, with no link to click on to actually claim it?

That's what was showing in my account too up until this morning.
I've come to work and it appears the TV had been delivered to a neighbour!
Opening post
I was looking to get a new Sky box as the current one is getting a bit long in the tooth.
Very tempted by this. Seems worth it for the TV alone.
I think the TV is an LG 32LF510
(http://www.lg.com/levant_en/tvs/lg-32LF510D/technical-specifications)
Includes free set up.

Still not a bad deal
Stonking deal for existing customers.
18mths @ £109 pm - not for me

But for them it was a good deal, tv alone is worth the 130.
Saw another offer for free Galaxy tab E with upgrade to family bundle with £30 cash back, looks like freebies is Sky's new sales tactic.

Well done, take the deal and run.
I'm in a flat and can't have normal multi room. I'm currently on a 60% discount so no way I'm giving that up
In the process of removing sky movies so this will replace it and still be a bit cheaper
Also I'm needing a new tv for my bedroom so a good deal for me.
My discount didn't appear to be removed when I got to checkout and saw new monthly total
+ free Sky HD Multiscreen box* + free standard set-up* + Sky Go Extra (at no extra cost, normally £5 a month)
I have never ever paid and had three installs putting where I wanted - which included just leaving in the loft.
I have just purchased this offer, there is a (upto 90 days) waiting list for the TV.
Thanks Op.
When I signed up, and when I spoke with them a couple of weeks ago this was one of 3 options - 32" TV, Samsung tablet E, or half price on all bundles (so Family bundle for £18 instead of £36).
p.s. it has to carry on for you to be able to get it! I probably put a bit of a knife in OnDigital!
Is it worth the money ?
The multi room boxes (SkyQ mini) uses the wifi signal (not broadband speed) to send the signals to the box from your main SkyQ box,
If the wifi signal is weak the boxes have inbuilt power line adaptors and will send it this way instead.
If you had a 1mb connection SkyQ would run perfectly but your on demand would be slow
All 4K channels will be through the satellite when they launch in the summer
I was paying £26.65 for BB and Line rental any time but I really wanted the free TAB E, spoke to 2 advisor's, no joy then got to speak to a manager who offered the free TAB E if I was to re-activate my TV on Original Bundle for an extra £8ish a month (10 month contract)
Result! :-)
Luckily took a retentions offer on Saturday with 60% off and some account credit. Signed up to this and added multiroom the day after.. claimed Sunday too for the TV and it's arrived today! Doesn't even get installed for another week..
You will keep your present discounts but only for the original 12 month period. Then your on full whack again!
I called them and was told the order didn't go through because of a 'technical issue'. The guy on the phone complete the order and I asked him to reconfirm (verbally) that the TV was included. He told me that I would receive a voucher to claim the TV 'after' the installation took place.
So I just wondered how you managed to claim the TV even before installation occurred.
I ask because I am out of contract so when negotiating a new deal with 50+ percent off plus an account credit if I can also get them to upgrade the old Sky+ box for a newer one with a larger HDD I would then have a second spare Sky+ box that could be used in the second room. Seems a stretch to get all those things.
This might be because you have an outstanding Home Move order that is currently being processed. Please contact our dedicated Home Move team on 03332 008 000 for more information."
