If you purchase John Lewis Partnership vouchers from Morrisons to pay for this you will get 7p off per litre of fuel. Buy the vouchers with your TSB Classic Plus account contactless card/Apple Pay and you will get 5% cashback on the £70. For me doing this last year that resulted in an extra £7 saving, though my TCB became payable at £0 so having to make a claim for that.

Substitutions would kill any valentine even their toilet rolls on offer were not available they sent a third size box chocolates instead of the large size who has a valentine offer and does not have the stock? Valentine offer was not credited at check out !

Might've been mentioned but if anyone is interested in the £20 valentines meal offer it doesn't apply the offer at the checkout, only when the payment is processed. So, you can add £70 of groceries and £30 of bits for the valentines deal, use your £30 voucher at checkout and then when they process the payment they'll knock another £10 off for the meal deal. Called up Waitrose CS to confirm this. £49.50 for £100 of shopping including the TCB

order came today with a couple of substitutions that we couldn't use...baby formula (wrong type)...so returned those ...hopefully they wont affect the discount...otherwise ill be having a proper moan up...my assumption would be that as the issue is with their end that all will be fine...especially with Waitrose's normally excellent CS

Log in to TCB and there should be a link from there to go to the Waitrose site - believe it was next to the offer details for the cashback. The Waitrose page it took you to quoted the code or the code is printed in the box on TCB if you have to go back to there.

Ours came through fine, with the substitutions they seem to charge you for the more expensive item and then refund you the difference later.

Our total shop worked out at £53 with the £30 off, £10.50 TCB and £7 from Halifax cash back!

We got a lot of offers so it wasn't too expensive, basically we got a bottle of Llagavulin for free!

Had mine this morning, no sugary items available, I bulked buy a few items unsurprisingly they were missing quite a few of them, however upon closer inspection of the receipt I was still charged the same, they had increased the number of other items I had bought, not applied discounts correctly basically a complete mess, for example listing 14 coconut waters when I only ordered and received 8 so I now have to work it out correctly and spend my time resolving it!

That's a huge disappointment, I had high hopes Waitrose may be different. I've wasted so much time with the other supermarkets correcting their errors. Sainsburys once did not deliver 2 chicken breasts and instead charged me for 42 of a different type and didnt even deliver them! I never checked my receipt until that day. I wonder how many other times things have been wrong.
The systems that they all use there should be no room for errors so makes no sense to me how they do it. Tesco on two occasion delivered almost all of my shopping in duplicate but with no extra charge (worked in my favour for a change). Obviously I didn't query those!

I shop at Waitrose occasionally. A lot of their branded goods are now the same price as other supermarkets. When items are on offer at 1/2 price, they are sometimes also in "MyPicks" so you get another 20% off. For example Nestle shreddies 500g are £2.49 at most supermarkets (compare costs on mySupermarket) including Waitrose. They were recently 1/2 price, plus got another 20% off as were in mypicks making them £1.
I also like their essentials toilet roll, nicer than Andrex. £3.50 for 9, but in mypicks, so get them for £2.80.
It is a more pleasant experience, the staff much more helpful & friendly. However a lot of items are dearer hence I also shop at Lidl, Tesco etc!!!

The bottom line to this is Waitrose - when it has it's 'half price event' (NOW ENDED!) there are some really good offers. General shop in Waitrose and you will be fleeced, no doubt about it. Lots of items are far dearer than other supermarkets. How would I know? I shop at ALL of them, bar Tesco as ours is small. We have ALL the main supermarkets and this deal is probably ok as a 'first', but there ain't no half price items. Like all supermarkets the only way to WIN is to shop all of them. Most shoppers simply do not have the time to do this. I/we are lucky we can.

The best deal this weekend was Sainsburys Nectar voucher Swipe and Win.
We are still laughing this evening. I did a quick shop Friday and only got 200 points on my tenner spent. We went back did a big shop today and split it all up into around 10 quid batches - 11 of them. Ha ha ha. 11 times through the tills, some in trolley, some in baskets. My wife thought it was mad and not worth the effort. I said what have we got to lose? At worst we will get the minimum 200 points (that's a quid), 11 shops is 11 quid off! She said oh alright.
She was soon smiling!!!

She got one 5000 points, a 2000, three 200s and then a 1000 points. I waited with the trolley full of the rest till she came back - I knew she had a good one - she was grinning ear to ear. I went through then with each batch. Not so lucky, third time and another 200 points, still that's 3 quid. Then I too got a 5000 then a 1000!
Totalled up we have 76 quid of nectar points. Wow! Ok, we have to go back in shop to scan all the vouchers to swipe and win. Somebody has messed up on this, unless we were really lucky.

PLEASE do it again Nectar and Sainsburys. LOL LOL LOL

There have been some really interesting and amusing comments in this post but the deal was not posted to cause any animosity between people, just to give people a choice of a potential deal if it worked for them. Clearly this deal will not suit everyone, as with all deals posted on this site, but I think we all need to respect the fact that everyone has a choice of where they wish to do their shop. Demanding evidence of people's savings in the form of 'Share the cart you bought?' is also not appropriate in my opinion but yet we see this so many times on other deals. Can we all possibly just be happy that some people have been able to save money from this deal and also appreciate that others make their own savings through their choices that they are entitled to make so everyone wins.

Well that's your opinion and 3 seem to agree with you, certainly not my experience whatsoever, I buy grapes, carrots, tomatoes, broccili potatoes etc from Aldi/Lidl and they have a decent shelf life with me, must be the way you store them. Maybe you like your veg irridated for longer shelf life, IDK. Incidentally I have worked on a farm where veg were packed in the field and there were several plastic bags, including Waitrose, M&S, Tescos, Sainsbury, Asda and Safeway/Morrison. This was before the advent of Aldi/Lidl.

Sadly Quidco/TCB will decline. I recently learned this when I claimed for missing cash back. Apparently using gift cards are now in the T&C's for exclusions. They tell me this was because people were buying with cash back, returning and getting gift cards and then buying again therefore doubling cash back so they closed the loophole.

Easy. A relative of mine works there and gets us some 'fancy' things here and there. Some are very nice but 50% or so are terrible for what they cost. They certainly overcharge for the same branded things that are sold in the likes of Tesco etc so why on earth would anyone pay more for the same thing that can be got for much less. Some of their own lines are interesting but way overpriced for what they are.

chuckley
7 Feb 16 3 #104
If that's 100% true then why does the fresh stuff in Aldi go off/soft with a couple of days?
Morrisons is another that absolutely trash on fresh fruit and veg. 1 day MAX.

I tried really hard with Aldi but ended up having to throw so much away. I mean how do tomatos go soft and shrivelled in just one day? This does not happen with Tesco or Sainsbury's.

Aldi's meat is actually WORSE than Iceland and I never thought anyone could sink lower than them. I don't care if a whole chicken is £2 cheaper than Sainsburys et al. At least with them it wont be falling apart as soon as it touches heat.

BTW I don't shop at Waitrose. But these cheap supermarkets are not value for money. not in the slightest. They are cheaper, but cheaper for a reason.... the quality is not as great.

Good deal. However I used waitrose last week(normally use Tesco). Delivery made Saturday pm, after unpacking I realised a number of items e.g ready meals, 12 pints of milk had use by days of Monday(much shorter than Tesco equivalents).

So I'd still use this deal to get dishwasher /washing tablets that's half price and stock up. I wouldn't use it for my weekly shop as they clearly send you the food with the shortest shelf life. I was very disappointed with Waitrose food wise.

Many thanks, OP.

probably would have cost you £40 in lidl/aldi any day of the week without any special-super-duper-offers!

In aldi or lidl you can find exactly the same quality (just maybe poorer packaging) often for half the price

For 20 items you should read 10.
Not sure where poster got 20 from.
It's been 10 since the 20% offer started

We live in a nice part of Norwich, but the waitrose here wont even deliver to us, they only seem to deliver to the immediate area they are in, which happens to be the most expensive area to live in, funny that.

We did this, Great deal with TCB, and deals. Ended up with £167.50's worth of shopping for £61.50. Really friendly delivery too, brought the bags in for us. Stocked up on items that were not overpriced in deals which really helped! Don't forget snap and save deals/Shoptize/checkout smart! Very Happy!

link me your receipt, theres no way you did... if you compare everything you got with asda you probably paid more.

Im really struggling to fine any deal here, the tuna is £5 for 4 tins, john west is £3.50 for 5 tins at asda, why would i pay £1.5 more for a supermarket brand over the leading brand that i know is quality and have 1 less tin?

The orange juice has a very small selection, theres no tinned chilli apart from stag, what do you guys eat when you shop here? Most of the fresh lamb is oos...

Ill stick to john west. I tried to get some of their meats but they are all basically oos... maybe everyone did this and bought meat?? Apart from meats everything else is cheaper but the same else where.

The halifax cash back deal wont work due to this not being charged until after the 7th so you wont get the 10% on that

that's the thing I prefer Quality! Most of food made in UK is just pure garbage , lidl/aldi is the ones which have most of the food imported from germany/belgium/netherlands

You should try their swan stuffed with caviar - simply delicious.

But seriously what's the point even shopping there when in the end still you get the terrible UK made food as in any other stores? Better off getting the much better quality imported food from aldi/lidl.
