After the GAME deal (which is now available only in-store for £14.99) this seems to be a very good deal as both games (including the base game) come on the disk instead a download code for the base game from my previous deal.

People with out mummys credit card?
Pay to play died a death years ago. People still paying for games like Wow is crazy. They could make it all in some sort of product placement/advertising these days.

Do you still have to pay subs monthly for this game? Thanks in advance.

Without sounding like a knob I think having a sub fee provides a barrier that keeps certain types of players out.

Is there any similar price for the PC version?

You can get the base game for very cheap on key sites (g2a etc), it's much better to buy the game off of steam as the expansions are much cheaper from key sites. Steam and non steam keys are incompatible

The fee pays for servers and new content, the latter primarily. The people the pay wall keeps out I'm glad it keeps out. Last thing I want to do is play with a bum.

I'd rather not have my raids sponsored by coca cola thank you. Not everything needs to be a race to the bottom. Game has 5 million subs so people obviously feel the game has something worth paying for.

5 Million subs is poor for what it could of been, in its hay day World of Warcraft pulled in 12 Million subs. Isn't this nearly £15 a month I was told?
Where this is a costly sub, it has noting on the **** poor **** that is DLC and Season passes, I spit in there general direction. Only seen on game sort that out properly of late and that was hell divers.
Just Wondering

Wish they would give you x amount of hours, instead of unlimited for 30 days, as I know, I might only manage a few sessions a month, which makes the monthly fee a deal breaker, in fact ideally they should offer a pay per month sub and a buy a block of time sub

It is a great game, and worth the sub. Don't listen to people who want to ruin perfectly good P2P games with F2P rubbish.

A basic sub, which is a single character (you don't need more than that) is 7 quid a month.

The fact that they call this "the complete experience" puts me right off buying this... insinuates they KNOWINGLY left stuff out from the original game to bait more people to pay for DLC or locked content. May not be the case, but that's what the title suggests...

They've released an expansion pack a couple years after release, it's an mmo after all

I don't know why people moan at the pay monthly, its not a 40 hour game? it's constant updates all the time, ive been playing this over 2 years and i'm no where near at the point where i have nothing to do... stick to playing call of duty and fifa, the price of which, plus online subscription is almost the same as this sub...

One gripe I have with this version of the game is that it requires the disk in to play, if you get the base game + heavensward separately you won't even need to insert the disk once

People who haven't played it have no idea! It's awesome game, I'm glad I spend monthly on it, been playing it for about 2 years. Do you even Final Fantasy?!

can some kind soul post the different types of subs and their advantages? I'm tempted ......

There's not much of a deal on the subs mate but square Enix should give you 14 days trial. The game is amazing. It's huge open world and will take years to explore.
