Wouldn't stay in any of their hotels if they were free!
Be aware that they are one of those companies that make it difficult to contact (no email for Customer service HQ) if you have an ussue. I have written twice without any reply.
I would rather give a decent company my money than waste it with Travelodge who do not care about you once they have your money.

Never had that problem myself. Contacted them via the online form on their website and got a speedy response (and a full refund after our stay was disrupted by fire alarms going off).

How i miss the £9 & even £5 rooms of a few years ago. Central Southampton for a fiver & 2 nights London Liverpool Street for £9 per night were amongst the best bargains. Guess those days have gone .

You clearly miss the point. I would rather pay full price and receive a decent service. Don't comment if you have not experienced issues, that was the point I was making. I have had issues unlike some of the comments made. When you have an issue, you may not get any response from customer service.
My experience, and highlighting it to other people. Not the wrong site. Like I say, don't comment unless you have experience of the point I was making. It's not helpful to the rest.

Thanks for the discount code, 1 night at Heathrow in March including breakfast for £37 beats any of the other local chains. Don't really care about the comfort/condition of the hotel, just that it's near the airport

those negative comments I believe have not stayed in a Travelodge for a long time, all hotels had a face lift and the customer services from the front staff is excellent, my last stay was at Burton a38 and the staff told me been working there for 30 years and have enjoyed every moment of it.

Are you Travelodge staff? I have visited quite a few in the last year or so and they have varied from nice, to awful, one was no better than a budget local hotel which was cheaper, almost all of them had a almost non existant tv signal, showers that were either burning hot or too cold, heating was the same, broken kettles (one exploded once when a relative was in one and they got their money back as long as they signed a "waiver")
The worst was next to a busy road, constant noise, run down facilities but was one of the more expensive ones, it had many complaints online, for the most part I didn't mind as it was cheapish but when local hotels can do it cheaper theres a problem and local hotels include breakfast and free wifi, and god the toilets are noisy at travelodge.
As above it varies by location, you get some nice ones and some run down ones you can't judge a whole company on your limited experience.

Useless "850,000" rooms. Travelodge used to be £140~150 inc VAT for 4 nights up to 2 months ago in Leeds centre. Now they jacked up the price - over £203 is the cheapest for at least the next 4 months. certainly cant find any £29 rooms during the week and even with the 15% discount it is still more than they used to charge.
Cold for wasting my time thinking they had gone back to old, value for money price.

I would be surprised if it was , just sounds like your exaggerating the whole thing .If not then i hope you took some photos and emailed them and got some money back.
Personally i think there overpriced at full price but a good deal if you can get a room cheap.
i stayed at London city airport for a measly £29 a night when i normally pay £90+ for a 4 star hotel and even though it was just across the road from the runway it was very quit inside and about a 10 minute walk from the London docks railway.
I ended up missing my last train out of Manchester last week so went walking around the hotels in the area which cost £110 (travel lodge overlooking Piccadilly gardens) and down and found another ten minutes away for £55 at 12am +.
They have comfortable beds unlike some of the more expensive hotels i have stayed at, just don't expect luxury.

The link does say 500 hotels but the T & C's for this promotion quite clearly excludes Ireland and Spain, I live in Spain and have previously used these offers but not this time.

It's not so much Travelodge itself that's the cause of a lot of the complaints - it's the people it attracts.
