Remember with gearbest if the item fails you will go through weeks of emails back and forth as the will ask you to try all manner of things to try and get it working, sending them pictures and videos to prove its broken and no matter what warehouse you buy it from it has to go back to china. I'm in the process of this with them, two months since the phone broke and still no replacement. Having said that if the item works ok for at least a year its a bargain and the EU warehouse does deliver quickly.

Tempered glass protectors cost 1.41 delivered and IMO are far more effective than having Gorilla Glass as standard. iPhones have Gorilla glass as standard and I just can't believe how many I see with cracked screens! Gorilla Glass is effective at stopping scratches but IME can easily shatter should you drop the phone. The tempered glass is designed to take the 'hit' from a fall and leave the origina; screen intact. And I've seen it happen enough times now to convince me it really does work!

Just received my "ordered via eBay" X6 Pro yesterday.

First impressions are quite positive. It's nowhere near the build quality of my Samsung Galaxy A3 but it's quite acceptable.

I've got one issue so far that's a fairly major one....I send Skype video messages quite regularly and so far this one isn't playing ball at all. Most of the time the recorded video just disappears (no option to send - after a long delay when pressing stop) and at other times it stutters and does not play back properly.

Anybody else here that sends Skype video messages care to comment on their experience?

The ANNOYING thing about this is, a few times in the past on the GearBest Web Site, when on your Phone you do a Search for: 'DOOGEE X6 Pro 4G' (or even just simply: 'DOOGEE X6', it throws up allllll sorts of dumb non-descriptive error things all over the place!.

It gave me the Doogee X5, and the Doogee X5 Pro!, plus Phone Cases for BOTH the Doogee X5 Pro and Doogee X6 Pro too!, but .....

Not a sodding whisper of any actual Doogee X6 Phones ANYWHERE! (be it Doogee X6, Doogee X6 Pro, or otherwise?). :-(

Mad confusing that?.

Thanx OP .. I'm just glad that your link links directly with the Doogee X6 Pro itself ..... lol. :-)

ok. so you need to know what happens if your item does nott turn up.

I ordered a tablet early Jan. it still has not arrived. they will not act until 25 days have passed.

after 30 days item still not arrived so they offered me HALF of my money back as STORE VOUCHERS?

unbelievable. stay well clear is my advice.

I ordered a phone from them on 10th Jan. Still not had it. I have been chasing up since 25th Jan. They just fobbed me off copy and pasting the order tracking (which I can see and hasn't been updated since 14th Jan). 1-3 business day delivery ... Ha!

Finally raised a PayPal dispute.
They are offering me a $80 refund from a $150 purchase because I didn't have insurance. Hopefully they'll find it at the courier and I'll get it, as it is worth more than $80 to me. Or maybe PayPal will give me a full refund?!

The customer services are worse than useless... I will not be using Gearbest again.

Mine did the same - same outcome. My conclusion - Doogee phones are subject to at least one fatal design flaw and buying from Gearbest gives no effective redress at all. My quoted options were as follows:
1)Return the item back to us
You can return the item back to us in China as per our terms and conditions indicated in the link above.
Once we receive the item , we can exchange or offer a product refund( 99.99USD) back to your GB wallet. As long as the item does not exceed the 45 day money back guarantee limit.

2)Keep the item and accept a partial refund on Wallet (credit)
We can offer a partial refund of your product value which is 30.00USD on your wallet. This amount can be used for your future orders.

3)Resend a replacement (No return)
We can resend you a replacement but we kindly ask you cover partial cost of item and the shipping fee which is 70.00USD. We will then arrange a shipment and send you an invoice if you choose this option.

I would note that any Gearbest credit note would have zero value to me as I would never buy from them again.

Sorry for late reply....I did reply, then decide it would be better as a PM, tried to send you a message, but you don't have it enabled....

Not got those apps, the ones I do close in this way don't get completely killed in that I will get further notifications from them.

Hope that helps?

The phone is growing on me, despite a few more niggles:

Default weather widget won't find my town, yahoo weather finds it, but when I went to add the widget, it became a widget sized wallpaper overlaying the apps on each screen, had to uninstall.....Found one which worked in the end.

Twice in one night it refused to turn on until a charging cable was put in, at which point it turned back on (with 50%+ battery)

Oh, and media drug won't install which is a tad annoying. PITA workaround of using an old phone with mediadrug installed and dropboxing or whatsapping the files over

sorry. What I meant wrt closing apps in Recent, is that it sometimes kills them completely which I don't want it to.
So, for example 360 Security dies and no longer scans for viruses and its security AppLock no longer asks you for password. It also disappears from your Notifications.
I was wondering does this happen on yours? Esp apps that have persistent Notifications.
Hope this makes sense?

10 Feb 16 #73
Thanks, recents works with long press. Not come across that before. Apps are removed from recents by swiping. Not sure if anything remains.

Another bad point, it won't charge in my car whilst I'm at work overnight. "Battery too cold, remove charging cable"
davening
10 Feb 16 #72
Try long press Home Button for Recents.

Does it kill apps completely when you swipe them away in Recents?
It does that for me with 360 Security, ES File Explorer Pro.
Can you double check yours please?
Johnboy_1975
9 Feb 16 #71
Yes, via myhermes. Delivery attempted Saturday, and again Monday (left with neighbour).

Heartstoping moment when I put it on charge and it didn't power up (need to remove tape from battery  )

Overall I'm pretty happy with it. But unless you need dual sim, I'd pay the extra £30/40 for the su6 given a straight choice (as per earlier post, I have a faulty su6 currently under dispute with Vodafone. Eventually all being well I will probably sell the doogee, unless I can only get buttons for it)

Some minor(ish) niggles:

VERY laggy of antutu 3D video.

Chinese plug with adaptor.

Back button to right of home button, rather than left as per UK spec.

Other button seems to shortcut to widgets rather than display recent apps so no way to kill running apps??

Why is it always those who do virtually nothing to help the site who constantly moan? When I saw this post I had a little bet with myself that you had posted NO DEALS. And guess what? Yes, NOT ONE DEAL posted in over 2 years on the site. Ordinarily I really wouldn't have a problem with your moaning. But when you are leeching off others' work to have the temerity to moan like you have just makes me shake my head....

A lot of people have very genuine grievances with Gear Best. They are a truly terrible, terrible company.

However in your case you shouldn't expect the same phone but in a different colour for the same price just because the colour you ordered isn't in stock. That's just not how it works with any company, be that in the UK or China. Neither are obligated in any way to give you the same phone in a different colour if the original colour goes out of stock.

I've mostly had an ok time with Gearbest. I've ordered Xiaomi pistons and a few other low price electronics. However, last time this or the x5 was posted I ordered - after a few weeks they message my account to say it's on back order.

I decided to cancel. It took me about a month of hounding them and a paypal dispute to get my money back.

It's irritating to say the least. I am likely to order from GB again, but it is off putting when they act like that.

Worst company ever. if they have your money and suits them is fine, but the first bump and you will not be looked after. I have ordered black Doogee X5 pro for £40, next day they have sent me email to tell me that the phone is not available and they offered me 3 options: 1.Money back to Paypal 2. Money back to their wallet 3. Wait for the phone to become available. I decided to wait. 2 weeks later they have sent me email offering me only the first 2 option. I have seen that the Doogee X5 pro is available in white and I asked them to post that instead - same phone but with white colour. They said they could post that phone but I need to pay additional £20. Meantime i have ordered Screen protector for The Doogee X5 as I did not expect them to make me second offer (offering money back only). So after 2-3 waiting time it seems i have waisted money on screen protector and learned that participial chinese company would do anything to get your money and they do not understand what is fair dealing or good customer service. so good luck to anyone who is purchasing from them. I guess if they have it in stock your order will go smooth, but if there is anything else do not count on good customer services and you will be out of luck.

I got to say, the items from china did turn up for me. I did a test run, and purchased some micro sd card readers. Which where not allot. I thought i was going mad, and i had received the items. But about a week later they turn up. In total it takes about a month, maybe a little longer.
I then purchased from eu warehouse a quad copter. It arrived about a week later after i order.

3 Feb 16 1 #48
Well I wouldn't touch Gearbest with someone else's bargepole. After being tempted on the recent X5 Pro deal, they turned round and said the black was out of stock but I could pay the same again for the white version (because it costs twice as much at present), and a refund to my card isn't an option (they're keeping my money whatever happens). In the UK this would probably be fraud.
nascent to rd232
3 Feb 16 #50

Anyway, with contract law. You form a contract with gearbest eu warehouse, not the china one. So wouldn't stand up in a court! Or at least that is my understanding of contract law
AndyRoyd to leeparsons
3 Feb 16 1 #49
Don't want to be drawn into a protracted legal debate, but I would suggest summarisation of as there is no "Gearbest EU Warehouse" (or similarly named) company, it is impossible to form a contract with it. I believe the contract is with Gearbest in (presumably) China who may fulfill via a storage shed somewhere in EU/UK. Not sure how a UK court could effectively impose any authority over a non-UK company. But I'm not an expert.

Funnily enough I'm currently trying to return a SU6 to Vodafone. 3 months old. Bought through mobilephonesdirect on talkmobile contract. I'm outside mobilephonesdirect's 28 day warranty, they told me to go to a Vodafone store with my proof of purchase. Vodafone said "no chance mate". So whilst I bat emails back and forth I've plumped for this.

Is the 8gb + 8gb confirmed? Would really like 16gb to store apps on, I have had a partitioned phone (HTC x one) and it's a pain

I agree with previous comments about the very good value of Chinese phones! My experience with the doogee F3 pro has been fine. Its got a great screen is blisteringly fast gets 4g fine when available is well built too! Use it all the time and occasionally as a phone!! The voice activated "find me" function is useless but its a gimmick anyway. As always the battery is mediocre and camera good in daylight all for around £100.
Gearbest supplied it after a long wait but arrived via Holland and no duty! I would buy a Doogee again and at these prices you can't really go wrong.

You can't really comment on someone elses phone habits to be honest, I know someone that said they had never dropped there phone before and treated it like a baby, yet 2 days earlier I saw them get out of a car and there phone dropped from there lap as they got out straight onto concrete and slid 6 feet across it, they quickly scooped it up and brushed it off but the scratches were there on the screen to prove it..
I never believe anyone nowadays after the amount of times people say they have never abused or mistreated there phones, yet they do it all the time and just pass it off!

Ooh, this or the Vodafone Smart Ultra? Hot anyway from me.

for £30 more i'd go with the SU6, better screen (1080p) battery (slightly) and a warranty (more or less none with gearbest!)
jaydeeuk1 to Quids

Su6 for £100. For a start if it breaks in a week you can replace for no hassle, these jokers will offer a £20 refund if they even bother replying. Just saw comment above, agree with that
superb

Battery and CPU speed could be better, but for the price you can't ask for more really. Hot from me

The camera WILL suck, but it`s a brilliant specced phone for the price. Heat, especially as it`s from their EU warehouse (no customs charges)

It's amazing what these cameras can do these days.....

Yes, it's a sort of 'flash sale' and the codes never work on these. In fact, like you say, they actually 'work' but increase the asking price!
