What do 1080p video games look like upscaled to 4k. I remember playing ps2 games on a HD TV and they didn't look great.
It's the one thing worrying me about 4k tvs at the moment.

I'm hoping we get to see more of the suspension bridge in the background. Its clearly the real star.
On a more serious point, I'd never heard of a "mini-SCART" before seeing it in the description.
Mini Scart is an adapter that converts the standard Scart into a very small connection (similar to an old style iphone charger)
sancheez to Walesraider
4 Feb 16#23
Yep. They've been using them in place of the full size version for a while now.
The TV should come with the adapter to connect a normal SCART to it. All mine have.

Can someone find a similar spec none vestrel tv and we'll compare prices.

What didn't you like about your Vestel set, if you don't mind me asking? Compared a Vestel JVC 50" to an LG and Samsung in Currys the other day and struggled to see a difference in image quality.

What non Vestel are you buying then? Let's compare. Popping up with "its a vestel" isn't very constructive is it? Just throwing this out there to anyone - What is the cheapest non vestel 48" 4K TV?

I have the 65 Digihome" from Tesco.....The 1st TV I received....great picture...especially in HD....ok sound.. ..for the money paid the screen formed a fault and tesco exchanged it for me.
The 2nd TV was different to the 1st one..... sounds is worse..... external dongle for internet ( for smart TV) won't connect to Internet. I tried to put a review on there Web site but they refused to post it.

I got a jvc which was a vestel. It was rubbish. So much issue with the smart software. Hardly use the tv now.
SClub
5 Feb 16#38
What was the issue? I've heard the apps are limited and can be slow, but equally that they've put out firmware updates to improve things. I've got a Samsung bluray player with smart features which is pretty naff too.
With the rise of tablets and devices like Chromecast, I wonder if the younger / technically proficient generations care too much about smart features, and whether suppliers will support them for long.

Thanks for a link to a 3 year old thread Phil.. did have a read none the less. Did see a link for a 40" non vestel 4k Panasonic for £560 is that the cheapest?? (Don't think it would go down well in here - Hotukdeals) Perhaps your 'It's a vestel' crusade might be better off over on AV or Digital spy forums lol
Well my IQ level is sufficient enough to detect the sarcasm in stevo's post so I think I'm doing OK thanks Phil!
Anyway this deal has made it on the hottest of the day list so it can't be that bad...Vestel or Not!
PhilK
5 Feb 16#50
Not really. The conversation was about the viability of Turkish TVs and how they measure against better quality makes. Correct ? You gush on their behalf, and if it suits you, fine. Like buying a Chinese smartphone for £200 - lovely for a while, then goes all to hell and buyer blames people who warned him rather than himself.
I said Bush was rebadged Vestel.
So he was being sarcastic ? So what ? Why does that make the comment any less valid ?
Does it stop from being a rebadged Vestel ?
That boost in IQ can't come soon enough
Walesraider
5 Feb 16#51
No, I'm not comparing quality though phil, it goes without saying! I'm just comparing prices and if this is a good deal or not. I have no interest in buying a top of the range LG or Panasonic. I bought the the 43" Hitachi 4k on the weekend that was posted on here for £299.99 and now I spotted this 48" with similar specs/connections etc for the same price..
If you had the choice of the 2 what would you go for..the better deal obviously!
SClub
5 Feb 16#52
Sorry, you've lost me. Have you owned one or not? It's quite easy to write something off for being cheap, but a quick read on forums tells me that LG/Samsung/Sony don't necessarily have great reliability records either.
As an analogy, certain people smirked when I bought a Kia Ceed...which just happens to be better specced, more reliable and cheaper to run than my wife's Golf...
GotBass
5 Feb 16#53
It is definitely not a hisense.
Just a rebranded vestel, there are plenty of these (techwood etc) which look identical.
freakstyler
5 Feb 16#54
China and even UMC knock out better quality TV's than Vestel do.
I would only recommend Vestel TV's when they're dirt cheap, this deal is reasonable. You might be saving £100 or so buying a Vestel instead of an LG or Samsung but its a false economy. The picture might look good in the shop (on the more expensive models) but Vestel's are poorly made using barely adequate components. To simplify, they normally don't last as long as say a Samsung or LG. I've seen the inside of many a Vestel and there's no comparison between them and even the cheapest Sammy or LG.

Hello,
Is there a 48inch 4K TV at £100 more than this as the previous poster says? The digihome I have is not smart but the picture is amazing. The only negative is that although the colours are amazing, I don't think it uses the full range as posterization is obvious on rare occasions.
If it had been then it would definitely be worth the asking price.

Right. You need to own one before you have an opinion ? How does that work for you ? Do you never have an opinion on something you don't own, or is that just for others to abide by ?
What are forums and reviews for ? If you only have this Vestel, how the hell do you know how it stands with other better known makes ?
SClub
6 Feb 16#61
Calm down  Clearly you have an opinion, based on someone else's opinion, which doesn't hold much water with me. I've got a Digihome coming on Monday so I'll be able to compare with my Sony and give an actual opinion based on evidence once it arrives  Tally ho!
PhilK
6 Feb 16#62
"Based on someone else's opinion" ? How else can you judge anything you don't don't actually own and use ? So ,,by the same "logic" you have to dip your hand in a fire to find out it's hot ?
