from doing monitor research you should get an IPS monitor not a TN panel as the IPS has better colour reproduction

Not worth it for you. This is a gaming monitor and you will see no benefit to the increased hz it offers over a standard 60hz screen. Better to get a cheaper 1440p based monitor as mentioned above

Clearly this is geared towards gaming so expected that users will have decent gaming platforms to use this. It's all about priorities. At least it's non of these fancy gimmicks like curve or 3D screens but still this is 1st gen.
