Seems a reasonable spec for the money. Might help someone.

I bought a laptop from these people, a T410 Lenovo last June. Great condition and still going strong, running for hours every day................
nice machine but not dvd/cd writer or bluetooth but very happy with it @ £100

I bought one of these a few months ago too from this company. It was advertised as having DVD-RW but only had DVD-ROM. I contacted them and they sent me the correct drive within a couple of days. If you got it from them might be still worth getting in touch.

Of course, you just take the blanking plate out and pop it in.

That's a great price for this spec. I bought an older dell 6320 last week with the same spec but 2nd gen i5. Stuck a crucial SSD in it and it flies for regular day to day stuff.

Has anyone bought a laptop from this company here? If so is the battery length hit & miss?
Evouk to benmango
9 Feb 16#33
I bought a Dell E6420 last year off them and had problems with it charging the battery. Within a couple of days they had sent me out another battery (even though the one that came with the laptop was brand new) and a new power adaptor. After trying these new parts I found out it was the power adaptor at fault. But the original battery was new and holds charge longer than they quoted!

I see no reason why it shouldn't run it at low-med detail , I have run it on my Surface pro 1 & it was adequate when i was away from home . (i5-3317u 4gb ram HD4000) Remember it's only a 14" screen so lowering the detail won't look so bad :smirk:

I see the gaming questions have began, it's a business machine, it does not have a dedicated graphics card so no, not intended for gaming. If it's games you are after, for this price you are in the wrong thread.

lools to be the exact same laptop but options list to upgrade to SSD and to upgrade memory. looks to be a bargain.

To anyone thinking of getting one of these, the first thing I would recommend is to stick in an ssd and move the hard drive over into the dvd drive bay with a caddy. I did that with the E6420 I bought on ebay and it boots in seconds and runs like a dream. Windows 10 is spot on, once you sort out the right drivers (audio drivers were my biggest issue).
I was thinking of upping the RAM to 8gb but haven't had any need as yet

hot from me, I still use a slightly lesser spec e5400 (core 2 duo) with an SSD and its perfect for surfing / file sharing / streaming etc.
That's 12.5" so smaller and more portable, although HP managed to fit DVDs in their 12.5" (unlike Lenovo Thinkpad X220/X230). IMO, somewhat better build but all three (Latitude, Elitebook, Thinkpad) have similar build quality.
But that's also the previous generation Sandy Bridge vs this being Ivy Bridge. Almost the same CPU performance but the iGPU on Ivy Bridge is faster.
This is also able to take 16GB: http://uk.crucial.com/gbr/en/compatible-upgrade-for/Dell/latitude-e5430

had one of these for a few years now. can't comment on the quality of the seller but as a small laptop goes it's great for MS Office and light work. Not officially Windows 10 compatible but I've got Win10 on the 5410 and its fine.

I'm intrigued by this comment! This is a well spec'd machine, so can anybody explain why it would be 'Not officially Windows 10 compatible' ?

Was a great deal. Better processor than the £140 x220 from last week, but I'd trust a Thinkpad to last longer!

Just ordered one with SSD & 8 GB Ram upgrade for £177 - sweet!!!!! overkill on ram probs but only a extra tenner from upgrade to 6gb so thought why not.
Hopefully battery is OK, one of the few adverts I've seen them do were battery is not guaranteed for at least an hour.

Arrived this afternoon and looks great. Screen is 1600x900 on mine even though I bought the 1366x768 so very happy with that - updating to Windows 10 now. Slightly struggled with YouTube at 1080p earlier which is me a sign, but I'll put that down to drivers unti Win10 update is complete. Looks very very very good for £110 all in though.

Received today, was broken near the fan and battery didn't last 10 minutes. Contacted them to resolve this and will then see. It looks like a very decent machine however

11 Feb 16#44
Received mine and happy enough. I got one with a backlit keyboard and the extra mouse knub/thingybob. Screen and keyboard are mint. Lid is OK, closer to a grade 3 than 2 IMO as apart from a inch and a half scratch on the lid there are also 3 or 4 dings/dents which is a bit disappointing.
Got mine upgraded to 8gb ram and SSD .. Boots well quick. 70 GB is used a
on hard drive though which seems high on a fresh install??
Also got the product key sticker on base (the new refurb key) which doesn't match what is show on laptop when u check - doesn't match one under battery either!!! Is that usual?
Oh, mine also got a DVD drive (not a blanking plate) not a DVD writer though unfortunately lol, the screen is 1600x900 like above too which is very nice.
Got a broken plastic part over the fan slot on left side too!!
tomwatts to wildcat___
11 Feb 16#45
Hmm. Mine had its product key on the chassis removed (obvious where the sticker was), but there was another one under the battery that, again, didn't match the one on the system. I don't suspect foul play - a lot of business laptops are weird like this. The battery and charger are both replacements but the update to Windows 10 went through perfectly and its activated fine. No issues with the cosmetics on my laptop but no DVD drive (blanking plate was installed though). No backlight on the keyboard either, but for £110, or even £121, it's still an utter bargain.

11 Feb 16#46
Yer well I validated windows online and it passed OK. Going to do the windows 10 update soon. Like u said for £121 (or £177 in my case due to ram and SSD upgrades) its a absolute bargain!!

Quick question if anyone is still following this thread. If the laptop was sold as grade 2 but you received essentially grade 4 would you pay the postage for return or expect the company to pay as they sold an item not as described.

12 Feb 16#48
Not sure how distance selling regulations apply to eBay. On Buy It Now from professional sellers I thought you basically have the same rights as buying from any other UK website, i.e. they pay your return postage.
I'd contact them and if they're being arsey then contact eBay. My lady sells on eBay and they nearly always side with the buyer!
They were very helpful and the laptop has been sent back as they had no more. Would use again

That's good, I assume they paid the return postage?
They're selling a Dell E6230 for the same price, which is pretty much the same spec-wise, with 4GB, same i5 processor etc, but 12.5" screen. I'd go for it, but it doesn't state a webcam and the Grade 2 does specifically mention 'minor scratches/dents on the lid' which worries me a bit.
Tried to message them via eBay and they don't accept them.
