It does make me laugh when these ridiculously good value smartphones get posted - and people come out with stuff like "camera is crap" or "not enough RAM", etc...
How about posting a deal for once instead of spouting trash?

Tax fraud and other ethical issues aside, that 'phone' is an absolute brick.
"Mr Chu and his sweatshop" That`s ALMOST rarkist! :smirk:

Yes very unlikely, however if you were to ask them to do it, then it might be a different matter.
Frankly I'm more concerned about large corporations who operate here avoiding or evading tax than Gearbest. However that doesn't mean the tax evasion the likes of Gearbest do shouldn't be pointed out. It's almost like the business model of these companies is based on fraud.

Yes think the CPS might take action on this against Gear Best China if they were to mark down the item as less than you paid. Be careful!!!!!!

Dual sim AND sd card, 2gb/16gb, big battery, reasonable screen spec ... £50ish ... that's a hot deal.
However, personally, I'd wait until there is some knowledge of the reality of the thing, amount of chinese bloatware pre-installed, etc ... In a few months, say with a CM rom available, and the price back down to this (pre-release) level, and shipping from the EU warehouse ... then I might be interested.
Hot deal, but not for me ... yet!

I agree, even for £50, you could build 4G. However, I think you will find ALL phones are built by "Mr Chu and his sweatshop"

I'm sure the chinese sellers are very concerned about fraud. /s
They'll happily rip off any product design and even copy brand logos to sell something for a few pence profit while abusing slave labour laws but marking down the value to avoid postage tax is crossing the line huh. :P

Why not? Lumia 550 is often under £50, and has been on payg upgrade for £30. And thats a quality handset from a proper manufacturer, not Mr Chu and his sweatshop.

That phone looks a lot like the Samsung Galaxy Note 1. Remarkably like it but that's a really thick old phone and the specs aren't far off this one really if you forget about the improved CPU and screen. That said the original note does have a decent screen considering how old it is. Battery is almost half of this one though.
It's like going back in time. I'd say people are right to call this a 'phablet'. It looks incredibly bulky for a phone frankly.

No, but if you want 4G I think the Doogee X6 Pro for £20 extra would be best
I was just looking for the best bang for your buck phone and as I don't really use 4G this seems like a good alternative.

Good deal, heat applied. It's worth mentioning that this phone has a 4000mAh too (which is great). Also if you swap to white then black again it drops to £50.65, which is a bargain in anyone's book.
I personally settled for an Oukitel K4000 a couple of days ago due to the 4G, better cameras and 5.0 inch screen. Was just over £80. The camera was the main issue to me, can't drop to 5.0MP

I agree with you- it is still a good phone. It's just strange it is not 4G. it seems a piece of standard kit these days and not really a luxury anymore. Nonetheless, I voted hot.
