Just found this Croft port at Tesco online, down from £12 to £4 for a 75cl, which seems pretty cheap to me.

Damn good price. Dont think ive ever seen a bottle of port for £4, normally atleast double that. Its ideal to even have a bottle in for using in cooking at so cheap a price

Ok if you shop at Tesco because you have to spend over £40 for free delivery I think.

Aww gutted, I've just had a text off Tesco saying it was a technical error & my charge for online shop will be the £12 per bottle. Good while it lasted!

I received a call at 10.49pm.....yes I said 10.49pm from Tesco informing me of THEIR error. Not impressed as it woke the whole household..........muppets.
Typical Tesco bad customer service at its best! Not too bothered at the Port error, more concerned that they thought it was ok to call at such an hour.
Definite need to retrain their staff & by the way the loud, brash voice at the end of the phone didn't even have the decency to apologise for such a late call. Disgusting!!!

10.49pm!! That's shocking and deserves a follow up complaint. I wouldn't have been impressed either. Funnily enough I forgot my phone downstairs last night & had a missed call from an 'unknown ID' gone 10pm when I checked this morning, I wonder if that was them too....

I got a call at 10:35 and was requested to cancel - I thought this sounded suspicious and firmly declined to do so because I'd accepted to take a suitable alternative if the item I'd ordered was not available - Tescos Customer Care offered to swap my order for another @ £12.00 per bottle i.e. 300% increase - this I again declined. They than said that since the price was no longer available I'd now be charged the full price i.e. £12.00 since prices online are "for guidance only" thats to say only valid on the day of delivery. This despite the fact that at the time of ordering the date the "offer" ran out I think was something like 12th March 2016 (Please advise if my memory is failing me)
I am upset for many reasons, the stress of the late call, the attempt to make me cancel and be complicit in their error, the late notification I'd placed my order days ago and not least the inconsistent way we have all been treated. i.e. some winners....some losers and jealously some apparent lottery winners (£1.44 for 5 bottles!!!) I've been a champion of Tescos in my house ...my Wife dislikes shopping there intently. I feel shabbily treated and think I will henceforth boycott their services in future on the basis of failure of trust and their disloyalty.

I did in fact send a complaint email to Tesco grocery this morning explaining my problem with their rubbish customer service! Firstly I received an automated reply to say that somebody would contact me within 24 hrs to reply. This in fact they did via a telephone call. The lady was very apologetic & said she too would be very unhappy receiving such a call at that time of night. She went on to say it had been confirmed after an enquiry that they could call up until 11.00pm about issues affecting online grocery orders. I let her know in no uncertain terms that this was a ridiculous situation.
The end result was another apology & instructions left on my online account to wherever possible contact me via email about such non important issues. Also as a good will gesture a £5 off my next online shop for the inconvenience. But I still don't feel they understand how bad the late night call was at a the time. Let's hope more complain to avoid this practice happening to anybody else!

I went to collect my order and ....yes it was all there but at the old price i.e. £12 per bottle a complaint at the desk revealed that they has anticipated my 'complaint' because a call had been made minutes earlier - no goodwill gesture (don't think I would have accepted - was too annoyed) barely an apology and a firm loss of a customer - what did they learn from this ..... NOTHING i suspect ! They are too big and desperate to make money, I feel sorry for their employees having to front up such poor service. This happens so often - mis-pricing seems to be accepted as a an acceptable issue, the consequences going way beyond losing customers. Loss of trust & integrity have no value - I worked as a part timer for this company back in the 60's when under Jack Cohen (tesco founder ) the grocery shopping experience was revolutionised by the introduction of 'stack 'em high sell cheap - current CEO Dave Lewis should sort this out! .... I won't hold my breath tho!
